I actually sleep on the daybed every time we go, and love it. I find it perfectly comfy for a week trip, and i am 5'6" . :)

Our room seemed a little worse for the wear compared to some of the other deluxes but maybe they are do for a rehab soon. We obviously don't mind too much bc we are headed back in a few weeks!

Not sure if it's the whole resort, but iknow we stayed in the Hawaii building several times, and everything was just redone not too long ago..

Can you still request turn down service in non-concierge rooms??

Yes, just call Mousekeeping and request it. I only used it on select nights when we were out late so I called them on an as needed basis but you can request it to be done daily too. Just keep in mind that they do it fairly early in the evening.

We usually showered in the afternoon before dinner so it was so nice to come back to fresh towels for the next morning, emptied trash and cozy beds to fall into.:cloud9: Not to mention some little chocolates. They also had DD's stuffed animals tucked into bed waiting for DD. It was very nice.

Hello Poly Experts!!

Wanting to know:
Is it possible to grab a bite in the lounge in the AM (CL) and still make it to the the EMH AM hours?

I see that food is put out at 7:30...EMH's are at 8:00. With transportation - that doesn't give much time to be at the gates before 8...

Has anyone seen the food come out BEFORE 7:30??

Thanks!

Food is out at 7. I have never had a problem grabbing something at 7 and hitting the monorail to the MK (or boat). We ALWAYS do EMH (a.m.) at MK - and i just grab a coffee for me, and crossaint for dd and take it to go.. but, they are very good about putting out the food early. :) You'll have no prob.

I got a brown envelope from AAA yesterday and it didn't ring a bell what they were sending me. When I opened it, our Magical Express booklet and the Poly luggage tags were inside. I had forgotten all about those items coming in the mail, so it was a wonderful reminder that our trip is slightly over a month away: Labor Day weekend. The trip is starting to feel more real now. We have never stayed at the Poly or CL before, so this will be a memorable trip.

I have never sent in a room request to the resort, but thought I might for this trip, they are already doing the special cleaning for my DD, but I also requested a balcony/patio, She has severe allergies and we don't want the landscaping to come up right to the balcony/patio (even if it is beautiful). She also has severe asthma, so CM put it in as a medical request to not have a patio with lush landscaping, and to do pool view. Where do I send request, just to restate all of this. and is there a longhouse that would be best for her? We have never stayed at the Poly.

Perfect!
Good to know - thanks for the info.

If you get turndown service, do they fix the daybed up for someone to sleep in it? I assume you would have to specify this, but will they do it if you ask?

We like to shower again in the afternoons to freshen up and I also like getting fresh towels and the beds made all nice after our naps;);)

You have me convinced. :thumbsup2 I amgoing to change my rssie to CL. Now, how do I request a certain building and ground floor? I use an ecv and I really don't want to be on the seconf or third floor even with an elevator. Can I make the request when I change my reservation or do I make the request somewhere else?
TIA!

If you do CL you will be in the Hawaii longhouse. So, you will just need to put in a request for the ground floor.

Disneynuts. You may want to consider a Magic Kingdom room veiw at Tahiti. We had one this past May the views are FABULOUS!!!:cool1: and its like having your own private beach. My husband had no trouble with his allergies even though one of them is grass. The rooms have about 8 feet of grass then a sandy beach facing the lagoon and Castle. Not much vegitation at all compaired to the interior lodges and great breezes. Since I don't know if grass is one of the major allegries I'm not sure how helpful this well be for you but you can check it out for yourself online. I will send you a Pm for the TIkiman site several posters have sent me. It has LOTS of pictures of Tahiti that should allow you to see if this area will work for you. Good Luck :hippie:

Tiggspring,

The only problem with your good suggestion is that the price difference between a standard room and a theme park view room for Agust 2009 is $145 per night.

If DISNEYNUTS is staying 7 nights, that change in room category, if it's even still available, will cost just over $1,000.

I just checked at they show nothing left at CL. So, how do i make a request for one of the other longhouses?
Anybody??

Thanks for the suggestions! The Magic Kingdom view upgrade is not a possibility as the additional $ is not possible. This is a second trip this year, and this was supposed to be a budget trip for DD b-day that turned into the POLY (not so budget LOL). Just concerned with all the landscaping now, as the last time we came in the summer months (june) DD had a major asthma attack and ended up with pneumonia. would like a patio/balcony that doesn't open up to fast trees. If possible?

Could you request a 3rd floor room? Or one facing the monorail? I would imagine either would put you far enough from most of the ground level vegetation.
