CAn you share why you felt it was so bad?
Ehh, really don't bother asking:lmao:..this person started another thread(it got closed;)) slamming the Poly because they had to wait 15 minutes to get picked up and they were CLUB LEVEL so how dare they make them wait..then they said they got lost trying to find the Hawaii building. Oh, and there was only one flavor of bagel in the lounge for breakfast..

Yes, they have a right to not like the Poly and to complain, I suppose. But based on the "glorified motel" comment..I think trollage may be at play here.:confused3 Gave them the benefit of the doubt at first, but that's gone now.:sad2:

Thought I would pop in with another Poly update:
-Mousekeeping has been spot on this week. My suggestion to anyone staying at the Poly soon would be to request that your room be cleaned by a certain time of day. I've seen several complaints on the boards about people's room not being cleaned early enough. Upon check in I requested that our room be cleaned between 9am and 12 pm every day and so far that request has been honored. We like to hit the parks early then return to the room to change for the pool by 1pm or so every day. Years ago, it was inconvenient to return to the room to change into our swim clothes in the early afternoon only to find the room was still being cleaned. One quick note about the woman who has been cleaing our room this week. We returned from DHS around 12pm and Awilda (our mousekeeper) was just finishing up the room. I told her I was just dropping off a couple of sodas from the lounge in the refirgerator and turned to leave. She made a point of stopping me before I left to thank me for leaving tips for her and to say how much she appreciated it. I was very impressed with her gratitude especially considering that the tips I had been leaving were nothing excessive by any means. Anyway it was nice to be personally thanked by our Mousekeeper for leaving a gratuity. More later........:cloud9:

I believe that's the same woman who cleaned our room last year... she was a total sweetie and also thanked us personally for the tips.

That was sweet of Awilda - and nice to know that they appreciate any amount of a tip. :cool1: Curious how you managed to get to DHS and back by 12n. I assume you got there at rope drop? Did you see everything you wanted to see or you didn't have much you cared to do there?

Anyone know if it's possible to get carryout bkfst at Kona?? I know they have room service but A) not a fan of the pricing and B) figure if I'm walking to CC's anyhow to get my morning coffee/tea why not just swing by Kona to pick up some Mac Pancakes? I don't realy want to waste precious morning time eating in the restaurant so was HOPING I could get it carryout. And if NOT-anyone have a menu for room service with the pricing as well????? THANKS!!! popcorn::

We were there on an early entry day (8am), there at rope drop. We only felt like doing the "biggies": TSMM, RnR, ToT. There's really nothing else there that interests me too much. I've done the older stuff to death and some newer things like AI don't interest me at all. Actually I've never watched a full episode of AI in my life. I only like watching the rejects at the beginning of the season!:rotfl2: BTW, the crowds were pretty major considering it was an early entry morning: TSMM was a 45 min wait when we got there and we walked directly there at rope drop! Sorry but I think that illustrates how starved DHS is for some new blood...it's a very good ride but JESUS!

So I think my husband has pretty much given me carte blanche to do whatever I like for our disney trip as long as I stop talking about it. :)
Fortunately, I'm planning things with a good friend who is more than willing to talk the details with me and debate things endlessly. Her husband (who shares his first name with mine - maybe it's a name thing) is also sick of the whole affair - he caught her looking at the cake porn thread and thought she'd snapped.
huntconn - thank you so much for taking the time from your vacation to update us on your trip. It sounds wonderful!

My sister and I are planning together, and the guys are getting JUST A WEE BIT sick of hearing about it.

Sure, until we mention how much money we're saving with all our research!! Then, suddenly, it's not a problem :)

Couple of other thoughts/observations while waiting for the EWP to start:
-I was standing next to a woman in the Club Lounge who asked a CM to heat something up in their microwave. The CM told her that they had no microwave in the lounge and that she could request a microwave for her room. Now, we always request a microwave for our room even if we never use it, there's not charge for it. That aside, does anyone find it a little strange that there is no microwave in the lounge, even back in the kitchen area? Just seems strange to me that they do not have such a commonplace item in the lounge.
-Unfortunately pool hopping at the Poly is alive and doing well. My wife and I were speaking with a friendly couple while hanging out in the pool. After speaking with them for some time (they were actually very nice btw) it became apparent that they were not actually staying at the Poly at all. They even said that it had "been years" since they had been to any of the parks. Turns out they were not even staying at another Disney resort! They were Florida residents who regularly come to the Poly to go swimming! Their daugher even had the poolside entertainment schedule memorized. She told us that they always start the "fun stuff" at 2pm. It seemed like they did this on a regular basis.
-Apparently the new dining reservation system at WDW is having major problems. 2 seperate CMs told us that dining reservations have mistakenly been "extremely overbooked" and that people with valid reservations are being forced to wait well over an hour to be seated on a regular basis. While in the club lounge this afternoon, we witnessed an older gentleman having a sit down meeting with what was obviously a Disney manager. The older gentleman was very polite and professional, but was obviously very upset about his experience with Disney reservations and dining. We were not intentionally eaves dropping but it was impossible not to hear what was transpiring since we were the only other people in the lounge at the time. The manager was taking notes the entire time. He admitted to the gentleman that the new reservation system was "extremely flawed" and that they were having "major problems" with it. He seemed genuinely concerned and was very apologetic.
Oh well, the EWP is now over and we're waiting for Wishes to start. I've loved the EWP since I was a boy and still love it to this day. The boys got some new Star Wars Transformers at DHS so I'm having fun trying to figure out those evil little parental torture devices. Good night everyone!

I bet they have a microwave, but I bet they're not allowed to use it for guest food items. It's a food safety issue because they don't know where your item/food has been.

And that pool hopping thing totally sucks! I didn't notice that last week, but I don't think I really would have - we didn't strike up very long conversations with anyone at the pool. I didn't see anyone who looked like they had brought their rolling cooler in from the parking lot anyway!

This is pretty interesting. Over on the ADR thread a lot of people have been excited about reservations they've been able to get from playing around with the new online system that were impossible to get over the phone (often they are ellusive prime ADR's like Le Cellier). There's been a lot of speculation as to whether these people were just snagging cancellations or if the system was double booking. Seems like the later may be the case. Now I'm somewhat worried since my 90 days is coming up in July. I can't imagine the mess it's going to be for those visiting during free dining.

YES, you're the only one!:rotfl2: Ironically, I love the sandwich but don't really care for the chips!

Okay, since I just read somewhere in this long thread (that I am finally almos finished reading) that you can customize it yourself. I am going to give it another try without the blue cheese that is.

Thanks. :lmao:

What is the best way to get back to the poly from MK when it is really busy? We are going to be at the MK over the 4th and will be battling the crowds. Is it better to take the monorail back or to ride the boats that go to the resort?

Last week, one night, we walked to the Contemporary and then took the monorail around. It was better than standing in long lines to us (both boat and monorail were long that night), but it was also really hot. But we didn't have any trouble getting on the monorail at the Contemporary - they're pretty efficient at loading the cars there.

You can even get a cab from the Contemporary if you're inclined.
