According to the CMs in the lounge, pineapple bread is for sale at the coffee bar/bakery upstairs at the GCH. I have no idea what it costs because we didn't wander up there to check it out.

I'll have to keep this in mind. We'll have to pick some up for one of our in-room breakfasts. :)

Good morning,
Here's another quick update while my wife is getting ready for the parks!
-Regarding recent reports of garbage and towels strewn about especially around the Volcano pool....I just don't see it. The resort has appeared as clean as ever to me. I truly believe some of these posters base their entire experience around one specific incident, namely a couple of irresponsible guests making a mess. Obviously, CM's can't follow people around with a broom. I'll give a quick example of how CM's do care about keeping the resort clean that happened just yesterday. I was speaking with a CM named Michael at the Club desk. While speaking to him my youngest son Connor said something about "stepping in sand". Apparently another guest had tracked some sand in from the beach/pool area. Without missing a beat, Michael turned to the CM next to him and quietly and politely asked her to clean up the sand which was quickly taken care of. Not a big deal I guess but really illustrated to me how much these folks care about the appearance of their resort. And please don't think for a second that I'm viewing things through "rose colored glasses" because of my love for the Poly. If there's garbage around the resort, I'll be telling you there's garbage around the resort (and telling management btw). But the fact of the matter is...this resort is still maintained wonderfully! Oh well...gotta jump in the shower, hit the lounge, then off tto DHS! Have a great day everyone!!!:hippie:
P.S.: I want my pineapple bread back, darnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to update - loving them. Just six more weeks until we are there

Tess ... have you been able to hear the wishes music from your balcony? I've only stayed club level once before but don't remember being able to hear it and I practically lived on my balcony every night to watch wishes.

Yes, actually, we have heard the music on prior occasions. This year it was playing, albeit faintly. Our issue was we had neighbors on both sides who decided it was the proper time to rehash their day and otherwise carry on with loud conversations during the presentation. Their talking made it difficult to hear the music. :sad2:

it sucks. its a glorified motel 6 with 2 swimming pools and restaurants.

I also would like to hear what went so wrong while you were there. Did you consult management? Because, really, saying something "sucks" is a pretty stong complaint.

Grittyreid didn't seem to enjoy anything. He's written complaints on almost every thread. :confused3

Don't hold your breath on the OP coming back. He seems to be a pigeon poster. He drops and big messy one in a thread to get people riled up and never comes back.

That's too bad. makes it hard on those of us actually looking for information. Hence the title "FAQ."

And yet it remains logged into the board; no doubt waiting to see what gets posted in response to its foray into trolling.

Actually I was talking about the music outside of the Hawaii building. Last year it was nice and loud so you could plainly hear all of Wishes while watching from your balcony. This year the music is non existent. I spoke to a woman working in the club office and she seemed surprised that this was the case but admitted she only works during the day. She said that she would look into for me and see if she could find out why the speaker was not working or if she could get it turned up. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Huntconn - we were there last week as well - no music on the beach at all, my DH commented on it - he was taking video and was hoping to capture the soundtrack as well. It was quite loud from our room last year (1501) - you could actually hear it through the door.

Just wanted to say we had the same experience as you - room was perfect (even our fridge), no mold, very clean, room was always made up by the time we came back from the parks (never later than around 2 PM, but closer to 1 most days). I thought CM Michael was very nice - talked to him quite a few times while we were there. We had such a great trip. My only complaints (and not really complaints) - the turndown service was happening a bit early for our liking - we missed it one day because they came to do it before 5 and we were still hanging out in our room before leaving for the evening. And ... (horrors of horrors) ... NO towel animals at all, except for the Mickey head on the bed when we arrived! Bummer - the kids didn't seem to notice at all - no one mentioned it - but we had awesome towel animals there last time. Oh and no pineapple bread at breakfast.

We were in 1503, so just 2 floors below huntconn. They gave us the exact place we wanted - I said between 1501 and 1505, but preferred somewhere in the middle. We did all the fun Poly things - Kona, 'Ohana, Spirit of Aloha, hula lesson, Electric Water Pageant, watched Wishes from both the beach and our room, had some Pina Colavas and while I didn't have a Lapu Lapu this trip - I did have a $15 (!!) cocktail served in a big coconut at the luau!

And to the other person who mentioned the smoking thing - I agree - nothing irks me (a smoker) more than doing the "right thing" sitting by the quiet pool DSA (including in a wicked downpour) and looking up and seeing someone in Hawaii smoking on their balcony!

But to any who are going - don't second guess your Poly decision - it's a wonderful resort and we thoroughly enjoy our visits there - even though we are now DVC owners - you know we must like it if we were willing to pay cash to stay there!

I am trying to find pics of the One-Bedroom Princess Suite. Anyone have any or know where I can find them? Of the room plus the view
