2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what.
No, anything cool (being I live in south) I take with me and wear here also

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?
Leave this decision to dg

4) Are you making a specific room request?
Yes

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review)
We went to Whispering Canyon in December and it was a hoot! Raphael, our waiter was great at interaction with my dgd. Food was good too!

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do)
This one is hard because we don't spend a lot of time at hotel. We usually open and close park.:woohoo: But the food court at cb was really nice the last time we stayed.

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June?
Sure:thumbsup2

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello?
Yes and of course! Would love to meet some fellow disers!

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?)
hold mail, newspaper, have pets taken care of (if you have any). didn't finish reading post you have listed all the stuff I can think of:rotfl:

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? I ordered and received the personalized maps from the WDW website. Other than that, I'm still waiting!

2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. Yes, I love to shop for trips.:guilty: This time I've purchased a few Mickey t-shirts (I ordered them on-line, and they're not here yet). I'm also obsessed with the perfect footwear. I can't wear sandals in the parks...it just grosses me out.:rolleyes1 I'm going with alternating pairs of Nike Frees. I also bought a new backpack purse, and yesterday at the outlet mall I found a Coach fannypack on clearance!

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why? I haven't done it, and I probably won't because of our room requests.

4) Are you making a specific room request? Yes. We really want a King room. I'd also like to be close to Flying Fish on a lower (second or third) floor.

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? Documents (confirmations, ID, etc.), camera & batteries, chargers, first-aid kit, sunscreen.

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review). Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package. This was our first signature, and our first TS meal at WDW in many years. We thought the food was great, and we really enjoyed the theming of the restaurant. The only thing I would have done differently was eat a bit later than the package allowed.

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do). The only on-site resort we've stayed at so far is the Yacht Club. It was a wonderful choice for a couple. Our favorite activity was finding a couple comfy chairs on the front porch and people watching!

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? Probably not. Our trip is very short (only three days in the parks), and those three days are pretty much booked!

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? No LGMH for me...DH already thinks I'm crazy and obsessed!:rotfl2:

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?) Stop the newspaper, beg and plead for a neighbor to check the pool chemicals a couple times.

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?
sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, ponchos, comfortable shoes

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review)

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?
Nope, I can talk in person with the person giving me the room and make sure it's correct right off the bat versus schlepping directly to the room and then having to get in line again and fix the potential problem.

4) Are you making a specific room request?
Yep, connecting ground floor rooms.

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?
underwear, especially if the husband or kids are doing their own packing, Bathing suits (See above reason!) The Teddy bears or wubbies, 2 pair of foot wear in case 1 pair gets soaked from the rain or rides, Quarters and pre 1982 pennies for the penny press and washer/dryers at the resort. We already know about the Purel sheets! :thumbsup2

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review)
Columbia Harbor House: They do an awesome job with their fried shrimp platter. It reminds me of the fried shrimp I used to get when I was a kid. The Columbia Harbor House also has quiet areas upstairs where you can get away from the crowds and the noise for a restful break.

I have a Lime green Mickey head with Marlton Mom on my Camera bag and my son's NASA backpack

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?) Have some one check on the house and remove circulars/ papers and water plants if necessary so it looks like someone is home.

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? yes :goodvibes personalized maps, planning dvd, luggage tags (and booklet that comes with it) and the monorail one

2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. Yep, I bought both girls almost a whole new wardrobe :lmao: and for everyone we bought a star wars shirt for SWW!

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?

4) Are you making a specific room request? we'd like a Toy Story room

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? sunscreen, camera, extra batteries, Aloe (for when sunscreen fails ;) ), and gift cards if you have them (I'm really paranoid I'm gonna forget my $150 disney gift card and not have any spending money!)

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do)

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? DH probably wouldn't be up for it

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? I'll have a LGMH on our backpack, but not the June logo. DH already thinks I'm crazy, and probably wouldn't be crazy about displaying the June logo, but I can get away with the mickey head because he won't know what it means :lmao: For those who asked LGMH= Lime Green Mickey Head, it's a paint sample ("Alien Green") from Lowe's) :goodvibes

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?) We're having a pet/house sitter come, so she'll get our mail too. I'll be making her a list of Vet numbers, our cell numbers and an emergency contact for in case she needs to leave (my ILs... just in case she has an emergency she can call them and in that case they could watch our pets or at least take them to a boarder)

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? No, we DVC'ers don't get Mickey mail. Waaaaah.:sad1:

2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. Any Disney shirt I can get my hands on. DS has some camo colored cargo shorts I like to put aside for AK.

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Yes Why? Did it once before and since I had my arrival time down, my room was ready at 7 AM. This may or may not have been b/c of online check-in but it worked for me!

4) Are you making a specific room request? Yes. Anything close to the lobby on the 2nd or 3rd floors.

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? For anyone staying in DVC - Dishwasher tabs to clean out jet tubs in bathrooms. For everyone - Sunscreen, debit/credit cards, clean underwear, chargers for electronics and a bathing suit.

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review) - Whispering Canyon - Fun, fun, fun. If on the DDP, get the skillet for best deal. Don't be shy, join in the fun and games and don't forget to ask for ketchup.

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do) - POFQ - Beautiful and small. Great to stroll around. Best thing to do is take the boat launch to DTD. Lookout for the treehouses on the left on your way to DTD.

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? - Maybeeeeeeee.....

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? - I doubt you'd see me anyway. I'm 4'9" but I have a BIG mouth so you just might hear me. LOL

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?) - Stop mail, make sure we have dogsitter.

I'm interested to hear opinions from people who have done it both ways. I was planning on doing online check in since I think it makes check in just a little faster and we have to get there at 7am to check in so we can make it to CRT at 8:30. But, we really want the Toy Story building of ASM, and I think I read somewhere it's easier to get your "requests" if you check in with a real person??:confused3

Our June trip two years ago, my DD (about to be 5 at the time) and I went down first by ourselves. We got there about mid-afternoon, and the regular check-in line was pretty long. The online check-in line was super short, and much quicker and way more convenient for me since I had to keep one eye on my DD. For our trip last December, we didn't do online check-in, but we also arrived a little after midnight, so there was no line to speak of.

If you want to make requests beyond the ones you pay for, you want to do on-site check-in. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be a huge benefit necessarily to online check-in. Either way, the most important part still happens -- the CM hands you your keys and information and whatnot and says those two most wonderfully magical words:

"Welcome Home!"

Friday Questions:
1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what?
Not the luggage tags and whatnot...but they should be coming...this week? Next week?

Which, of course, reminded me that while *I* booked the trip, eeyore344 has been getting everything in her name. Meh? (Of course, when we were planning our December trip, she was logged in to her account and saved a few packages, but I was emailed the pin code with the resort she'd saved on her account. :confused3 )

2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what.
As in, certain things that HAVE to go? Not necessarily. I am, however, purchasing clothes that will be packed to go on this trip....

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?
Not necessarily. See above.

4) Are you making a specific room request?
We just want a preferred location. Since we've paid for that, we should be good to go!

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?
A sweater (buses get COLD!), suncreen, batteries (or the chager for various things that need charging!), camera, and money... (I know someone who went to Rome a few months ago and left her purse in the car of the person who drove her to the airport. She spent the better part of a week in Rome with $70 and no credit cards, traveler's checks, or anything....fortunately, her travel companion was willing to float her some money until they got back.)

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review)

Yak & Yeti: ****/5
Location: Animal Kingdom
I ate here two years ago on the part of our June trip that was just my DD & myself. It's kind of centrally located, which means if you rush to ride Kilamanjaro Safari and still wind up having to wait 1.5 - 2 hours in line for the 20 minute ride, you will be rushing back for your lunch reservation.

I had no intention of getting a drink since I was alone with an overactive not-quite-five year old. But the waite said, "Can I get the young lady a Yak Attack?" I raised an eyebrow...didn't I see that being an alcoholic beverage on the DISboards? Is he offering my child alcohol? What?? "uh....sure...." He then gestured at DD..."and what would she like?" Suckered into it, but, oh, was it a great drink! (One of the things I'm looking forward to this trip!)

The food was good, although I didn't like the bok choy or whatever it was that came with my salmon. However...the absolute don't miss for me that is one of the most-craved things that no one else seems to do the same...the Fried Green Beans!!! Sure, sure...DD ate a good portion of her lo mein (one of the best non-pizza meals she probably ate the entire trip), but these green beans...I think I could have been happy if I'd had nothing else except them! Yum!

So, remember...Get a Yak Attack and the Fried Green Beans!

Oh, yeah...service was good. Atmosphere great...

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do)

Port Orleans Riverside: Magnolia Bend

Experience the charm of the Old South. Beautiful buildings styled after the Antebellum plantation mansions. There is plenty of shade, benches, and atmosphere. Disney has taken a lot of time to sketch out the backstory of this resort, even down to the Sassagoula (sp?) River.

There are bike and boat rentals and a carriage ride. The TS restaurant, Boatwright's, had great food. Playgrounds and quiet pools were accessible. (The main/feature pool, the one night we investigated, was so full, you couldn't have turned around without bumping into anyone, so we skipped it.) The food court had a decent variety, and you could take a boat to DTD. Everything seemed really, really spread out. It wasn't so bad walking for breakfast in the morning, but our room was a good 10 minute walk away from the bus stop, and it wasn't easy to carry a 35 pound potato sack -- I mean, sleeping child -- back to the room at night.

Overall...it was beautiful...and I am really having some feelings of "why aren't we going back THERE?" However, the rooms weren't as far away from the bus stop in CBR, and I think the food court had more choices at CBR than POR. I'd still be happy if we were there again and very likely will eventually stay there again.

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June?
Sure.

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello?
Planning on it, one way or the other! Absolutely stop and say hi! We marked our stroller with a massive lime green bow the first trip, expecting someone to comment and ask if we were DIS members. I'm working on a lime green Mickey for our door at CBR...if I can ever finish this afghan I'm working on, I'll finish my door hanger and post some pictures!

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?)
Have pets fed and loved (we have dogs, cats, and fish...), make sure everything that needs to be off is off (oven, iron, computer, etc.), leave a couple of lights on (gives the impression someone is there and can supposedly deter burglers), maybe set up someone to check on your house... We always have one at home still, so these are things we rarely have to think about.... (And if the one goes...it usually means I'm the one that either stays home or comes home sooner...but those aren't Disney trips...)

Now...Dance recital is over! Time to start packing! ;)

Here's my schedule for June:

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? For anyone staying in DVC - Dishwasher tabs to clean out jet tubs in bathrooms.

This will be our first DVC stay, so I'm curious about this. Why do you need this, are the tubs dirty? Do you just plunk a tab in there and run the jets? Thanks!

Here's my schedule for June:

I love it! I have something similar, not as detailed as your though. I love that you added some show times in there. My sheet is more for ADRs, but I think that it would be a good idea to put together a list of shows we would like to see and and add those times to my daily index cards.

Ok, stupid question time-how did you get that into photobucket?

I fiddled around with personalizing a LGMH in Word, but for the life of me I don't know how to convert it to a jpeg file. I tried moving it to paint, but it looks awful. And I can't make it in paint because I don't know how to get wordart into it :confused3

It really does look great, wish I could share it with my June friends :upsidedow

Thanks. Does it just signify that you are part of DISboards?

yep! I'm actually new to the boards (for this trip) and haven't been to Disney in years and years, but that's what I've gathered from all my research :)

This will be our first DVC stay, so I'm curious about this. Why do you need this, are the tubs dirty? Do you just plunk a tab in there and run the jets? Thanks!

Yes, that's the idea. If you have a jetted tub, you'll know that dead skin and dirt gets into the intake. I wondered if mousekeeping cleaned out the jets and asked the question Does Mousekeeping Clean the Jets in the Tubs? According to other DVC'ers, they don't. Buy bleach in the laundry room or drop a Cascade with Bleach tablet in after you've filled it and let it run. This or risk running it, getting in naked and having someone else's dead skin and dirt swirl around you.

Here's a copy of the blank spreadsheet.

I uploaded it to Photobucket by using the snip tool on my computer. You snip the part of your screen, save as a picture and then upload it.

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what?Yes. We received our DME tags and our luggage tags and package booklet

2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. I will pack a Star Wars outfit for both the boys since we are going to SWW. We will also bring our mickey hats. I can't live without tanktops and my croc sandals

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?We did online check-in last time and we will do it again. But we don't have any specific requests

4) Are you making a specific room request? No not really. We already paid for a preferred room

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?Travel documents (including tickets if prepurchased, ADR info and DME tickets if you are doing DME), Money whether it's a credit card, cash or travelers checks (we forgot our travelers checks when we went on our honeymoon to Mexico), sunblock, comfy shoes, and more sunblock

6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review)Sci-Fi Drive In Theatre- The food was not bad for lunch. We have not tried dinner there, but have heard you can only get burgers on the lunch menu and this was what we wanted. The ambiance is what makes this restaurant. You really feel like you have been transported back to a 50's drive in. The black and white b films are great, my only complaint is I wish they would last longer. You most likely will see the same clips a few times. The stars on the ceiling are beautiful. When we leave, I always think it's nighttime. So imagine my suprise when we walk outside and the sun is blaring in my face.

7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do)We've only ever stayed at POP. My boys loved staying here. It was great to look at all the memoribilia in the lobby and reminisce about the good ol' days. It was also neat to show these things to our kids and see there reaction. We also liked walking around the lake and getting DH and mine's picture in front of our year.

8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? Absolutely! We are always exicited to meet new Disers.

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? I will have them on my stroller and bag. Definitely stop and introduce yourself. We love to meet new people, especially those who love disney as much as we do!

10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?)We are having a neighbor watch our cat and taking the dog to the kennel. Unplug your electronics and turn up a/c. If you are being driven to the airport, make sure you have a ride home and give flight info to that person.

Just wanted to chime in and say my gf and I will be staying at the Pop Century Resort from Jun 19-25. This is our first trip to Disney World, can't wait!

3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?

4) Are you making a specific room request?

5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney?
