Let's talk luggage!

We need new luggage and really can't decide what to do. Last set we bought was 6 years ago and was about $60 for the set. Pretty happy with how long it lasted and how much it's been through. 2 trips per year flying and several more driving.

but....we now travel significantly more. So I'm thinking I should really buy some nicer luggage. Have also read the threads about people liking the drop bottom duffle bags. I've looked at them and they really look much more flimsy that what I'm used to so that worries me.

Do any of you Junies have luggage opinions?? Help a girl out before I start stressin'! :scared1:

This is what we got, $39 each at Costco. They are not flimsy at all. We have packed in these for the 17 day trip and they are nice and large.

Do you have any info about these two new acts? I had heard the acrobats were taken out, but I hadn't heard what they were replaced with. And there's something new in the UK too? I hope they still do the World Showcase players there -its one of our favorites!

The new act in England-The English Channel. They are replacing the Beatles act. They are suppose to cover music from the 60's-80's.

I heard something about a new act in China-something about Lion Dancers :confused3 I'll have to look into that a little more, it was just something I saw here on the boards somewhere.

I just changed my ADR for June 30th: Yak and Yeti at 6:15 PM.

Got it! :thumbsup2

We didn't know that the laundry rooms wouldn't have dryer sheets so we took some with us on the cruise in March. I've used them before in my suitcases just to keep everything smelling fresh and also in the dirty clothes sack so that they didn't smell up anything else I might have to put in with them.

Anjalee,
I just realized some of my other ADRs are missing. Someday, I'll be done with adding things!!!:rotfl:

June 25th
Coral Reef 12:30 PM

June 26th
1900 Park Fare 9:20 AM
Tony's Town Square 12:30 PM

July 1st
Captain's Grill 7:35 PM

July 2nd
Cape May Cafe 9:05 AM

I'm so sorry. I don't know how I missed them. :confused3 BUT in any case, they are added now.

We will be arriving at Bay Lake Towers on June 21:goodvibes

Yay! Welcome to the group! :welcome:

June 14th-21st at PoP Century

Welcome to the group! :welcome:

I've been lurking a lot on this thread, and like many of you, I am getting SO anxious for our upcoming trip.

I don't have a crafty count down calendar because my family and I don't live in the same house... I think that is one of the reasons I am looking forward to this trip so much.

Last August I made the decision to go back to school for an advanced degree. My husband and daughter stayed home and I moved about 100 miles away. I see them only every other weekend. It has been so hard for so many reasons, but most importantly it is my daughter's senior year of high school. I've been there for all the important things (prom, banquets, etc.) but still feel like I have missed so much. I know I am doing this for the right reasons and in the long run my family will be better off for it but lately it has gotten harder.

This trip will allow us to spend 11 full days together AND at the Happiest Place on Earth. So.... I guess this post is just to say that this trip is even MORE anticipated than the average trip.

37 days to go!

Welcome to the group! I am glad that you are going to be able to spend some much needed extra time with your family. Wonderful news!

Me and my soon to be husband are going for our honeymoon June 12-18 and we are staying on property at the Coronado Springs Resort! :yay: Nobody else seems to be staying at the CSR during the time we are staying there, haha. We've got a lot of ADR's booked for that week and here they are:

June 12 - Wolfgang Puck Cafe for dinner (I can't recall the exact ADR time but I will edit when I can find it)

June 13 - Chef De Frances 12:40pm, La Hacienda 5:45pm

June 14 - Hollywood & Vine 8:00am, 50's Prime Time Cafe 1:05pm and Sci-Fi Theatre 5:45pm

June 15 - Maya Grill 7:15am, Crystal Palace 12:55pm and Tony's Town Square 6:05pm

June 16 - Tusker House 8:30am, Maya Grill 7:00pm

June 17 - Grand Floridian 7:30am, Raglan Road 7:00pm

I also wanted to ask what is the average time you get your mickey mail? We havent received ours yet and I'm getting kinda worried about it. Should I call them?

Yay! Welcome to the group. I added all your information to the list on page 1. :welcome:

Well, it is with great sadness that I tell you that we have had to cancel our June trip. I actually cancelled a couple of weeks ago, but I was too sad to come on here and remove my ticker! :(

My dh is probably going on strike in June, so obviously it would be wise to put the trip off for now. I will hopefully begin planning another trip as soon as everything gets settled with his job security. I will just try to focus on the positives like more time to save for the next trip, as well as more of the park expansions being complete! Have fun on your trips everyone! I may be joining the June 2012 thread soon!

I'm sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip. I am sure that it's not a great feeling, but you're right, in the long wrong it's probably better to wait. Please continue to stop by and say hello.

First post! And I will be taking my 6 yr old nephew and my sister to stay at AKL for their first official Disney stay from June 26-July 1. Can't wait!

Yay for the first post. You will be at AKL the same time as us but we are staying in the villas. I added your information to the list on page and :welcome:

We are going to be at POP from June 20th to the 25th! My kids are counting down the weeks and I am counting down days! I can't wait! Is anyone else going to be there that week at and POP?

:welcome: I added your information to the list on page 1. If you look at the list on page 1 you might be able to find some other's that will be at POP the same time. I know that there are a lot of people staying at POP this time June.

You guys kept me busy today. I had a lot of updating to do. Hello to all of our new Junies.

I have been away for awhile...work has been busy. School is almost done:cool1: 22 school days left! Getting ready to clean out the kids closet so I can get them packed for the trip. They get out of school a week and a half before me and are going to gmas house before we leave for Disney so I will actually get some peace and quiet before the vacation....yeah me!

How many people are you packing for? And is it just the two pictured or are you really using 3-4 of these? These are tempting and we've not been to Costco yet, seen others like this at Target. We're not costco members so we'd have to weigh in that expense.

We have 1 per person, we now have 5 of them. We looked for weeks before picking these out. I have packed in mine 14 changes, 3 pairs of shoes. Each bag is 30" long and has a water proof compartment. Also they come with a 10 year warranty.

Well, it is with great sadness that I tell you that we have had to cancel our June trip.

So sorry to see you have to cancel.:sad1: I hope things will work out for you quickly and you'll soon be joining a new planning group.

I may need to do the same thing next month as I've been bedridden  for a week with a pinched nerve in the lumbar/spine region. Dr's office is still pressuring insurance company to approve an MRI as new x-ray showed no cause and I recently completed 8 weeks of physical therapy after a similar episode in February. Since we're staying on banked points, I can wait until the last minute to cancel and still have 7 months to use those points. Still, I'm hanging on to the hope that I'll be diagnosed and on a treatment plan that allows me to go in June.

Great...so are you going to come to my house to help me pack if I buy these? :rotfl:

I'm feeling better about these, may have to run out there this weekend to look at them for myself. :woohoo:

You should talk to my wife before you want me to fold and pack. 12 years and I now can fold towels without help, sometimes. Before I met my wife laundry service was considered a needed utility expense, like power and water. :laundy:

The days are starting to slow way down it seems. There's not even too much left to do besides wait a few more weeks to really pack. Can it be 26 days from now yet?!?!

Only 16 more days (not counting today of course) until we leave for our May/June trip & pick up DH whom we haven't seen since January. :goodvibes

:dance3:

:cheer2:

:cool1:

I'm at 20 days :cool1: But I've got lots of stuff going on so it makes the time go by fast :goodvibes
This Friday I'm having a Girl's Night Out with some of my friends while DH stays home with our girls. Then Saturday morning there's a bbq festival in town with activities for kids.
The next weekend is Relay for Life on Friday that I'm not involved in, but I'll go and shop/eat :)
And then the next weekend we leave on our trip! We actually only have 17 days till we leave on our trip. The weekend before Disney we're going to a family reunion in Florida... we figured we would schedule our vacation for while we were already down in the general area ;)

Thanks for the reminder about the mail, toomanycars.

We hit the holiday road one month from today!!
