Congratulations on your baby news! And I will be more than happy to taste the slushies for you! :thumbsup2

I have to live (drink) vicariously through everyone else now, LOL.:rolleyes1

Thanks for the congrats guys!:lovestruc Since I'll be 16 weeks, I'm trying to see what I can get away with while still being careful. Any tips?

Kilauea Volcano Delight...Yum! One of my favorite parts of the luau. We go every year. I know some people don't enjoy it, but we find it fun and my little ones love it.

I loved the luau and the food was good, but I'll admit, I wasn't crazy about the dessert.

Hello everyone! I haven't been around since the beginning because I was waiting on my job situation to "settle". The good news (long story short) is the company I've worked at for 19 years (Fortune 100 company) is allowing around 300-400 to work from home after the building closes the end of the year and I was lucky enough to secure one of those positions! :cool1:

So, things are back in permanent ink now for our June trip! I mentioned a long time ago this is a new time of the year for us but we wanted to experience what it would be like for my DS to not miss school for a change. As he gets older, it's our choice to likely not pull him out school except for a few days here or there. I hope we all don't melt! :rotfl2: What really made me decide to go for it was our last trip which was the end of October and naturally they had record breaking heat and the heat index was 105 - so, why would we be afraid of June? lol :rotfl:

Looking forward to SWW, a new experience at POFQ and the WISHES Dessert Party! :cool1:

Heather

was it october 09?!?!?! i foolishly didnt bring bathing suits since it was only a 5 day trip and i felt we wouldnt have time to go swimming and boy was i regretting it!

I agree with pp from Singledad about bad reviews for everything. We have read some awful reviews about Chef Mickey's but it seems like a great character meal & is so popular that we're going to try it out anyways. At least we would have tried it for ourselves. I say go for it :thumbsup2

http://www.**************/id/1307948456.png

i've not noticed any character buffet's with a lack of bad reviews. I really have to wonder what they are expecting from a buffet, esp with characters.. esp characters for the younger set. :confused3

I am not letting those reviews stop me from going to a place I know my DD will enjoy. but that is me.

Yeah. I agree with both of you. I guess it's the same thing as Mama Melrose; everyone always writes negative things about it, but we really like it. So, my kids really like the characters so we are going to keep it. I think it was the wine talking tonight. :thumbsup2

I agree with you all. I mean, you are paying for the characters, not so much the meal - which is why I only do one character meal (maybe 2) the whole trip. My kids are getting older though and they just don't care anymore. They'd rather have a GREAT meal vs characters. So, it's true, I don't quite know what people expect.

however, we always have a good meal at breakfast at CP and any time at Chef Mickeys. Never had a problem at either of those.

We were there in Oct 09 and it was crazy hot-record breaking highs.

Then last year we went in June. We knew it would be hot but again there were record breaking highs.

Wonder if maybe the Disney gods are trying to tell us something :rolleyes1

I really hope that we'll be safe this June. We are going the exact same dates so it can't happen again right??

I hope not!! We've broken heat records on 3 of our 4 trips! I hope people are forewarned

Hope it's ok that I'm playing the Friday Night Game on Saturday :)

That is what we faced in October of 2009 and decided to try June for the first time last year...unfortunately the same result of record breaking heat. We still had a great time though! And you will love POFQ it is such a small resort and very pretty. We are also doing the party for the first time, I can't wait. I hope that we catch a break on the weather this June!
I was thinking the same - we're used to the heat and although I'd rather have it cooler it's just part of being there at Disney and the summer! :thumbsup2 When are you guys doing the party? I think you're headed there a few days ahead of us so it appears we might just miss you.

It was actually last year 10/26-10/31 - so stinkin' hot! :rotfl2: See - two years in a row it's been stinkin hot - heck it's always hot! :rotfl:

Does anyone else "fiddle" around with plans after you already have them down?

I have a good plan down. All parks planned on recommended days-I did that without trying to, but I was so proud of myself after looking at them and seeing that's how it ended up :rotfl:

Still I'm not sure about it -doubt keeps raising it's ugly little head up.

My biggest issue is that we are arriving on a Monday and not having a MK day until the following Sunday :scared1:

Mon we have reserved for DTD/DQ, Tuesday we will be going to BB.

We will be attending the Wishes Dessert party on Tuesday night, but no plans of riding anything.

Wed/Thurs are our Premium plan days and both days are filled with tours at AK/Epcot and recreation.

Fri I made AK day-I can't remember my logic on this one. We are having dinner at La Hacienda and watching Illuminations. Right now DS and I are planning on trying to do the MK PM EMH, but that is going to be highly dependent on how tired we are.

Sat-Sleeping in, nothing except meals planned.

Sun-Finally MK day

Mon-Epcot

Tues-DHS (our least favorite park)

Wed-Home

I'm thinking that maybe on our first Tuesday we could hit MK AM EMH and go until lunch, go back to the resort and then get BB in the afternoon say 3-6. Is that enough time for BB? Will it still be crowded?

I just feel like I'm not going to have enough time at MK since it's my favorite park and there is so much to do there. And what if something happens where we never get to MK day-illness, injury, flying monkeys, alien invasion....

OH THE INSANITY OF IT ALL    (Insert overly- dramatic faint here for effect)

Help me please fellow Junies :flower3:

I think anymore the only not hot times there are the really cold times. But then you can't play in the pools and who wants that. Guess we'll just take the heat.

We will be at the party on June 7th. Wishes, castle, dessert-all my warm feel good stuff all in one place :goodvibes

this could get fun . If anyone wants one I'll be happy to make...

Too cute!!! My granddaughter's favorite movie. She can't wait for it to come out on Tuesday. Unfortunately we drive. Only 6 hours for us so really do not need luggage tags but tempting to get these just for dgd.

Help me please fellow Junies :flower3:

I would def. schedule more time at MK than just one day. That is just me though. My family loves MK and we often spend multiple days there. I planned two full days for MK just because between the rides that we love, parades, fireworks, and certain shows like Monster Inc Laugh Inc. Mickey's Philharmagic, etc. we just don't feel like we have enough time to get everything done. Plus, my kids like certain rides so much (PoTC) that we end up riding some rides more than one time. I don't know if you could do BB late in the afternoon. I have no experience with that. We usually go early to the water park and then we are out of there by 12 and then we go to a park at night. Could you do MK on the day you sleep in for a few hours maybe after dinner? I don't know what your ADRs look like for that day so I am not sure if that would work, but I think I would schedule more MK time.

my dad busted out our old videos of the first time we went to disney world my parents dd and i have been laying in their bed watching them all day, I swear I should have had a job on the travel network!:rotfl2: just convinced them we should all go back in 2015 to celebrate the 20 year anniversary. Now just to convince my brother, who does not share the love haha.

1) What are your top five Disney "Must Do" attractions?

Wishes, as viewed from the beach at the Poly
Impressions de France
Soarin'
Festival of the Lion King
Haunted Mansion

2) What are your top five Disney "Must Do" restaurants?

Wolfgang Puck Express
Flame Tree BBQ
Cosmic Ray's
Sunshine Seasons
Backlot Express
(obviously, we prefer QS)

3) If you had to live in Disney, which hotel would you live in?

Old Key West

4) If I was at Disney right now, I would be eating ....

at Cosmic Ray's and singing along with Sonny Eclipse

5) What is your favorite Disney trip tip.... (ex. packing tips, park tips, whatever you have to share) Pack lots of ziptop bags in assorted sizes. Always carry some with you. For summer trips, wet and freeze a wash cloth overnight and carry it in a ziptop bag to cool off and refresh with later in the day. Don't be shy about refreshing its cooling power by dipping it in the ice bins that they store the fan misters in.

If we were to skip the late night EMH at MK and not sleep in we could make rope drop and stay until 12, our lunch is at Teppan Edo at 1:30. Dinner isn't until 8 that night so after lunch we can go back to the resort and rest/swim.

Sleeping in for us isn't a big issue because of our afternoon break every day.

Oh my! I can't imagine only one day for MK!! :cutie: How about skipping the rest day and taking some time at MK that day? Or since DHS is your least favorite park, skip it all together and make that a MK day. :confused3 Just my thoughts. We're going to MK 4 days of our trip, so maybe I'm just a bit MK obsessed!

1) What are your top five Disney "Must Do" attractions?

small world
great movie ride
festival of the lion king
my picture on EPCOT's legacy wall (no one ever believes me that i'm forever a part of disney lol)
killimanjaro safari

2) What are your top five Disney "Must Do" restaurants?
we're so not picky about food we usually do the qs and end up eating were ever is closest

3) If you had to live in Disney, which hotel would you live in?

cbr

4) If I was at Disney right now, I would be eating .... mickey head crispy treats

5) What is your favorite Disney trip tip.... (ex. packing tips, park tips, whatever you have to share)
i'm horrible at packing etc, i always end up driving my mom crazy so i'm not the person to come to for tips lol

If sleeping in isn't a big deal, than I would say go for rope drop on that day and stay until 12. I just think with only one MK day, you might be cutting yourself a little thin. And since there are more people in June, it might be hard to do everything that you want to do in one day. :thumbsup2

Does anyone else "fiddle" around with plans after you already have them down?

repeatedly. I have three trips going at the same time right now- just to keep me having something to do.

My biggest issue is that we are arriving on a Monday and not having a MK day until the following Sunday :scared1:

I think this is a very bad idea. (you asked) :teeth:

Mon we have reserved for DTD/DQ, Tuesday we will be going to BB.

We will be attending the Wishes Dessert party on Tuesday night, but no plans of riding anything.

Wouldn't being on MK property having not been to the park yet seem like torture??

Wed/Thurs are our Premium plan days and both days are filled with tours at AK/Epcot and recreation.

Tues-DHS (our least favorite park)

DHS is our least favorite park as well. For that very reason, I would NEVER allow this to be the last thing I experienced before I went home.

Wed-Home

I'm thinking that maybe on our first Tuesday we could hit MK AM EMH and go until lunch, go back to the resort and then get BB in the afternoon say 3-6. Is that enough time for BB? Will it still be crowded?

This actually happened to ME last year! (minus the flying monkey; you should read my trip report linked in my signature for all the reasons that your plan needs revision. hi. been there. done that. learn from MY mistakes.

OH THE INSANITY OF IT ALL    (Insert overly- dramatic faint here for effect)

Ok. my opinions are in blue. Hope we're still DISfriends after this. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I actually always leave my least favorite thing till the end with the notion that if we feel like we NEED another MK day we can blow off the least favorite (or just make a quick run through and then head over to the favorite...)

I wanted to share the shirts DD and I made for our trip.....

IMAGE_075.jpg

We are officially tie-dye addicts! DD wants to make one for every day of our trip (10 days)! Ambitious, isn't she!!!:rotfl2:

Tonight I have to stay up to book port excursions for the cruise portion of our trip! Gonna be a late night!:surfweb::surfweb:
