The ALL NEW Disney's Contemporary Resort FAQ with PICTURES! (APR 2009)

There will be times at night when there are non Contemporary guests waiting for the Resort Monorail, however it's not that bad. Plus since the Contemporary is very popular because of the California Grill, Chef Mickey's and The Wave there will always be a lot of people just visiting to eat at those locations.

Finally the Contempo Cafe on the 4th floor is the only other location where you can refill your mug, so it can not be done at the Sand Bar which is located by their pool.

I agree with CR Resort Fan. I have always enjoyed the feel of the Contemporary and very much feel a part of someplace special while I am there. It can be a popular place to visit for various reasons...but my main quiet times (early and late) are very relaxing. And even on "days off" where we just hang around the resort it feels great. :cloud9:

I've never been in BLT, but I have enjoyed our earlier stays in GW rooms immensely. That being said, we do prefer the tower for both views and convenience...but in my opinion you can't go wrong either way. :thumbsup2

All I can say is, Wow! :worship: This is what I'm talking about! Thank you for posting these beautiful pictures...making me more excited to stay! Have a great night everyone and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi guys, quick question...how long does it take from the CR to the MK by monorail? If you wanted to be there for park opening, how much time do you usually allow? I know we could walk, but my DD's all about riding the monorail! :thumbsup2

Also, just wondering what the first booking of Chef Mickey's is in the morning...our ME bus will be picking us up at 8:25am, and I was thinking of booking a 7:00am ADR if it's available. Do you think this would give us enough time to enjoy our last morning at the CR? I thought this would be a fun thing to do on our last morning... :confused3

When using the Monorail I would say it could take at least 15 - 20 minutes, however you should really walk there since it's going to be a lot faster. Although if you really need to take the Monorail I would say leave a lot earlier then you plan to be there for the openong.

As for your other question I would not make that ADR because you will be in to much of a rush and everyone says you need to be waiting for the Magical Express bus 15 minutes before it arrives.

great pics craig!!! crfan, we just got back last sat. from a 2 week trip to okw. we spent 8 nights in may at the cont. w/ mk view and we are not planing on going back till the first two weeks of dec 2010. dw says no way till dec 2010, we have been there 6 times in 3 years, and i can wait till dec 2010! well , thing morning i caught her in the ap website, w/ the cont. in the backround and the price up for a 8 night trip early in 2010!!! wish me luck!!:thumbsup2

First thank you all for the info about the resort. Any doubts I had about staying were quickly washed when we walked into are room this afternoon and saw the view! Theme park view is awesome, and was fortunate to get a odd # room so our beds face the park. My dd is in awe, and I am just so happy with the choice of staying here. If the day view is awesome, can't wait for the night one. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 that was the only place that i have ever went to bed w/ the curtains open!!! it just flips me out to sleep w/ the curtains open, feels like someone is watching you. but, when we had that view, the curtain stayed open the entire time!!! what floor are you on? we were on the 11th!

crfan, any reports w/ the monorail and wait times since bay lake opened? we stopped over last week during the day and there wasnt a line but it was during the day. dw and i would love to buy points at blt but i wanted to wait to see how the mono was going to work out with the extra people.

Glad you are enjoying your daytime view and I can't wait to hear more! Enjoy your trip, and we'd love to hear some live reports (and see some pics too!) Thanks for sharing!

As always, thank you for your knowledge! I thought I might be able to swing Chef Mickey's, but I don't want to be rushing. I guess we'll just sleep in a little and catch a bite at the airport! Not much time to do anything special since we're leaving too early! :sad2: Maybe while DD is sleeping, I can wake extra early to watch the sun rise...although this brings me to another question...from the MK view rooms, do you see the sun rise or set, or both? I can't picture what direction it faces!
Also, I loved the turndown service at the Poly...if you ask your mousekeeper, do they do this for you if you are not staying club level? It was such a nice touch!

When I was there this past August just after Bay Lake Tower had just opened there were no problems with the line for the Monorail. There was just one time when we needed to wait for another to arrive, however that also happened during the construction of Bay Lake Tower.

You're welcome and I can not answer your question about which direction the sun rises, because I have never got up that early to see it happen.

As for your question about turn down service when not staying Club Level, you can request it by calling housekeeping and hopefully they will be able to make it happen.

Thank you! I don't know why, but just seeing those pillows propped up all nice and fluffy always seemed more inviting to me than the bed all made up! I'll give it a try for sure, thanks!

Have you eaten at the Wave yet? I was just looking at the menu and it looks really good!

No I have not been to The Wave yet, however one day I would like to eat there.
