Just in case you didn't know, you don't have to be DVC to stay at BLT. You can stay on a "cash reservation," and unlike staying on points, you can apply any applicable savings codes and you will receive daily housekeeping.

Thanks for pointing that out, I did forget to mention that we are paying cash to stay there rather than points, not a DVC member (yet).

Here is more info. on DVC and housekeeping from last May from a site that begins with Mouse and ends with Owners. It won't allow me to past their link or type their name for some reason Anyone know why they do that?

Because DVC resorts are designed to be a "home away from home," you should be aware that daily housekeeping service is not provided. (However, each One-, Two-, and Three-Bedroom Villa is equipped with a washer and dryer so that you can keep not just your clothes, but also your linens and towels as clean as you like. Guests staying in Studios or Inn Rooms may use the complimentary washers and dryers conveniently located throughout the resorts. Laundry detergent is available for purchase.)

For stays of seven or fewer nights, Trash and Towel Service is provided on day four. With this service, Housekeeping will

Empty the trash and put new liners in the wastebaskets
Provide fresh bathroom towels
Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap
Replenish facial tissues, paper towels, and toilet paper
Replenish coffee, sugar, and cream
Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, sponges, and laundry detergent as applicable
For stays of eight or more nights, Full Cleaning Service is provided on day four and Trash and Towel Service is provided on day eight. After that, the cycle begins again on day 12. With Full Cleaning Service, Housekeeping will provide everything included with the Trash and Towel Service, plus

Change the bed linens
Vacuum and dust
Clean the bathroom(s)
Clean the kitchen/ette and wash the dishes


*Daily housekeeping services are available, of course. Current rates for these services are as follows:

Studio/Inn Room - $25.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $30.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $40.00 per day requested
Grand Villa - $60.00 per day requested
Trash & Towel - $10.00 per day requested.

I wonder why you can't even type their name much less copy/paste the URL? What does it mean if it's blocked by the DIS? I've never encountered that before; it's just a DVC website that came-up when I Googled DVC and housekeeping - strange...

Is it safe to do that from a "blocked" site? Will our DISboard logins be unsuccesful tomorrow? (And, I'm not even a DVC owner nor want to be).

I do remember seeing Milk and Orange Juice for sale, however I can not remember seeing Bologna being sold.

Thanks to everyone for a wealth of information! We'll be staying at the BLT next month, and I have a couple of unrelated questions:

1. Does the BLT pool have afternoon activities such as pool volleyball and trivia, or would we have to go over to the main CR pool for the activities?

2. Is there any way to find out in advance of our stay what movies will be shown each night with the nightly campfire?

Very nice assortment of photos and listing of amenities; perfect for the OC planner! Would you stay at BLT on your next trip?

Absolutely! We're unlikely to become DVC owners, but I think we'll be staying at the BLT in the future (in a 1-BR...can't imagine staying in a studio with more than two or three people). We much preferred the extra room, the two bathrooms and the full kitchen to the ambiance of the Grand Floridian (our other favorite).

And the access into the CR was so quick and easy that it just wasn't an issue like I thought it might be. We were close to the elevators, so just down a few floors and a quick walk across the bridge.
