We just got back. We have a 2 year old too and it was great to watch the fireworks from our balcony. It was our first time ever and we were so impressed with the hotel-I'm definitely spoiled now...We loved everything about the hotel and the location is just great. It doesn't have a princess-y feel, but the monorail going through it and Chef Mickey's will do the trick!
It's great to read that you had a wonderfull time.

You're welcome. Soooo... is it CR or GF?

Haha, not sure. I will have to obsess over it for at least another week. I will say that the non zero entry is a downside to me because for my 2 1/2 yo who prefers the beach to pools because she can walk in and out of the water herself, the zero entry fits her well. However, the CR view seems unbeatable and like the full park view. We'll see what my husband thinks. He's totally gonna say "whatever you want". Aaaah!

So, even though there isn't a zero entry pool? Is there a kiddie pool or do either of the two pools have a shallow enough end for a 2 1/2 yo to be able to toddle around in? Really leaning CR for the view and the Magic Kingdom surround sound but feel nervous abt the pool situation.

So I thought I'd take a look at this thread so I can do some research for our upcoming Valentine's Weekend trip in February I just booked! We're staying CL at the Contemporary (12th floor) for three nights and I'm pretty excited about what I've seen so far.

This will be our first trip to the Contemporary, but I knew we had to give it a try after my husband said "I want to stay here" after dinner at CG!:lmao:

Booked the CR for my Anniversary trip. Thanks to availability of TPV room with the November discount, I switched from Poly GV. Yes KOOK I checked with DH It came out cheaper than my Poly GV (with a PIN guess the % off was less at Poly) and we can WALK to MK :cool1: Plus we might get a King bed :woohoo: 30 days out and so excited

Plus I just went back on the offer, and it looks like I got the last room available with that discount :thumbsup2

WHAT? You changed again? :lmao: I don't know why I'm surprised.

That's awesome that you were able to get a TPV room with a discount!

Let me know what you think of CR! As of right now, I have us booked for our 1st ever stay here for next Oct....if I don't have to cancel it. :sad2:

Y'all are going to have such a fabulous trip!!! :goodvibes

I hope you have a great time and I am wondering did you reserve the Theme Park View or Bay Lake View?

Congratulations on getting that discount.

As for getting a King Bed according to their 2011 rates the Contemporary has a room category called Tower Standard (Parking Lot) View King. So it sounds like you can now reserve a room with that type of bed.

The CM said I could request a King as there are both 2Q with daybed and King in the Tower TPV category. If it's between the view and the King, I'll take the view. It's all good. I am REALLY looking forward to walking to MK, EMH evening is our first full day there :lovestruc

There isn't a kiddie pool, but there is a ledge at water level that runs around the entire pool (and those zero entry "type" steps I posted a photo of on the last page.) Little kids like to sit on the ledge and jump in toward an adult.

While there isn't a kiddie pool, there is a great, newish water feature splash area in-between the Sand Bar and the Mickey pool:

Hey! You already answered my question, smarty pants! Well, you know how I feel about the Poly AND you know how I feel about the CR, so I just have one thing to say...

I was wondering if WDW was going to release a new Fall/Winter room only discount, because in 2010 the same type of discount was announced in the middle of August.

While that's great for those who were waiting for them I just checked the rates from 12/08/11 - 12/22/11 when I am at the Boardwalk Inn and it's more expensive because during that time I got the 40% Annual Pass rate.

Me too! Thanks!
Here's a link to some photos I posted in August of The Wave's (great) breakfast buffet and some CG food/menu photos:

I really should get an AP. I was giving up on the GP offers this year, I booked the 40% off summer around the same time as you did last year, and I kept changing :rotfl: Earlier it was only the Jan-Feb offer, the Oct-Dec "snuck in" a little later today. I found it strange that they released Winter BEFORE Fall. All good though...
