The Alaska Wonder-Land Adventure Cruise -August 4, 2014 -ROLL CALL!!

My DH and I plus my in-laws will be joining you on this cruise. We've been on several Disney cruises but this will be our first cruise to Alaska. :cool1:

I've requested access to the facebook page too.

Terrie is in Scotland and may not see your request right away. Just a heads up, if you don't get added ASAP. :thumbsup2

Hi! I am in Scotland right now but I saw the request and accepted it from my phone but I am not sure if that worked. If it did not please send the request again and I will accept from the lap top when I get back from The Royal Military Edinburgh Tattoo tonight. Thanks!

Myself (Laura) my husband Alan and our youngest son Connor 15 will be joining this cruise too, we're all really excited.
My husband was working in Edinburgh today and said the weather was nice so I hope it stays nice for the Tattoo tonight, We live about 50 mile east from Inverness and it was a little breezy but lovely and warm here too, although it was rainy yesterday. Fingers crossed you get wonderful weather for the rest of your Scottish adventure and welcome to Scotland. :)

I will be trying to join the FB page too.

Yay! I just caught up in here. I had been MIA until we could say for sure we are going because I didn't want to tease myself. But now that I know we'll be making it work I figured I'd check back in. Almost at 52 weeks and counting!

Now to look at the excursions. Last I looked I was having a hard time figuring it out because so many start at 5 and up but I couldn't imagine not bringing our little one along, he'll only be 3 though. I know a train will have to be involved though as it's his current obsession and from what I've seen there are some awesome train rides up there. Personally I'm all about seeing the whales myself that's my goal.

Our current plan is to come West midweek and take Austin to Disneyland, this will be my first chance to do it right too. Every time I've been it's been for 1 day or less so the 3 days I'm planning should be great. Then we will make our way North for the cruise over the weekend.

Debbie our room number is 2074 can you add it to the first post? Thanks

Brought to you all the way from Scotland ...

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS! WE SET SAIL IN

1 YEAR!!!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Well, we are a year out. What does that mean? IT'S CRUNCH TIME!!! Now's the time to start watching for availability to open up on how you plan to get there.

Thanks to Terrie and her knowledge of travel hacking I will be able to get 4 round trip tickets to Seattle from Chicago for free!!! :cool1:

Thinking of flying in on Friday. Staying in a hotel Friday and Saturday then taking the Amtrak to Vancouver early Sunday. Someone mentioned staying at the Pan Pacific at the terminal on Sunday night. Looks like that's about $300-$400 for the night.

Still thinking about post cruise options though but pre cruise is pretty sound.

Hi all -

So excited because my husband & I booked our very first Disney cruise this morning. I'm not certain if our 4 year old is more excited or if I am? :) We'll be celebrating our 10th Anniversary on board & couldn't be looking forward to the trip any more!

I'm a newbie to cruising - much less cruising with Disney - any essential advice?

Thanks!

:welcome: aboard!!! The best advice I think I ever got regarding a Disney cruise was "don't try to do it all". Seriously....there are so many activities...you just have to look at the navigator (given to you each night for the next day) and pick what you want to do most. You will need a vacation after your cruise if you try to squeeze everything in...seriously...there won't be much time for sleep if you try to do it all. LOL

This will be our (Steamboat Willy Nilly is my hubby) 13th cruise....all DCL. We're a little obsessed with cruising with DCL....and with our DISPEEPS (most of whom are on this thread) :goodvibes

Another question....anyone know how long it tajes to get from port back to the airport?

Which airport? Vancouver? On Googlemaps it looks like it's about an hour away. :confused3 But since I've never been there, I only have googlemaps to go by...and I'm not sure how accurate that is. Hopefully someone else can help you with this question.

Just a heads up, I won't be able to do the updates for the next 2 weeks as we will be in Scotland on our first Adventures by Disney trip, aptly titled, "A Brave Adventure." :jumping3::bounce::Pinkbounc :cool1::cheer2::dance3::yay::banana::hyper: :jumping1: Can you tell we're excited to go?

Ok...you two....did Junior tell you to start using this phrase to aggravate me???

:cheer2:  YAY!!! We will finally get to see you guys again! AND meet Austin!!! I started looking into excursions a few months ago and got overwhelmed by all there is to do....so I put it off....guess I'll have to start looking again....I know we wanted to do one of the trains, too.

I'll add you to the list in the first post. :thumbsup2

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Summer has been super busy...and it's gone by so darn fast! The kids go back to school next week. Yay...another school year full of struggling to get homework done!

We are considering changing our next summer cruise to an Alaskan cruise. Waiting to hear back from our TA.

I am starting to do the research for this one. It looks very interesting. I need lots and lots of info.

TIA

Has anyone volunteered to do the FE list yet?

We are going!!! We will be in stateroom #6636. There will be me, DH and DS15. We are definitely interested in the FE group.

Thanks everyone for the tips on our first Disney cruise!

I am totally excited about the FE activity! My little one is really into the idea of little "elves" leaving goodies (and doing the same for others)! I haven't seen anything yet, but if there is a list - we're in room 2076 & definitely want to participate.

No one had volunteered to head up an FE yet but many have expressed interest in participating. If anyone wants to organize it they are welcome to do so. I am somewhat FE'd out. The last DISboard FE I organized was over 70 cabins. We have a large group of friends traveling with us on this cruise and will probably do our own FE between us. :goodvibes

Hey Karen, Just a "HEADS UP"...Debbie doesn't like that phrase. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ohhhh, Deb! Heads up, never let this group know what your weakness is. See Terrie and sharks. I foresee many, many uses of this phrase in your future. :scared:

Ohhhh, Deb! Heads up... :scared:

Karen,

Terrie discovered something stronger and better than strongbow. We were on a mission to find this highlands dessert called "cranachan" (excellent dessert with brandy in it) in Edinburgh and the server recommended Thistly Cross Cider. Pretty tasty. I also enjoyed the Kopparberg Pear Cider.

I'll have to hunt it down when I'm over there again!

Mangers is also really good. I like it even better than Strongbow. It's an Irish cider and can be had at Raglan Road. Yummy!

If everyone will fill in their own info in the following spreadsheet, I will keep it organized.

Fish Extender Spreadsheet

Thanks.

Woo Hoo! We have an FE organizer!!!! :worship: Go Deborah :cheer2:
