The Adventurosity Club

I know it's quite a ways away...but if you are really serious then let's pick a date and make a plan. If you came how long would you stay? Could we have you all over for dinner and the kids could play/hang out. Don't forget Busch is right here too. Anyway..... I know you're still trying see if it's even possible, but that would be fun!

What about the Friday of Memorial Day weekend? Then Katie would be off school Monday. We'd probably come on Thursday night and leave either Sunday or Monday to make a weekend of it. Jeff would love to go to Colonial Williamsburg so that might have to be on the agenda. I'd also like Bobbie to see the ocean. The tickets go on sale on the 13th of March so I think we'll need to purchase them right away that day. I signed up for an e-mail account that should give us advance notice (and maybe advanced purchase). Coming over for dinner and hanging out sounds great but I don't want you to go to any trouble.

I've checked out some places to stay and there are lots! I'm thinking maybe the inexpensive hotel at Colonial Williamsburg (the Governor's something?) but there are others that are really reasonably priced as well. This sounds like a LOT of fun!

Anyone else want to see Wicked with us?

I'll put those dates on my calendar and we'll touch base again just before tickets go on sale in March. I am so excited!

I'm back from a relaxing few days at a lake house. My sister and I rented a house a couple hours from here, and just kicked back and chilled. It was nice. :)

I didn't have good access - it was sporadic dial-up - but I have kept up with stuff going on! What a week!

Tothesea and I are going to be at WDW during the DIS unplugged TSM event, and she signed me up, but she is waitlisted. We are hopeful that it all works out, and we can meet all the other folks at the event! (Talk about a nice person! She was doing me a favor - and she's waitlisted! What a friend!:worship: )

Of course, if she doesn't get in - I won't go, but I'll try to work out getting my spot to someone like 3guys' wife.

Amy and Suz: Wow - that would be so cool if you could do the Wicked meet and greet! :thumbsup2

Suz: I know you won't be able to do the TSM event, but are you a late night person? It'll be over at 11:30, and Missy and I were thinking maybe we could meet up at Downtown Disney. I know they are open late, but not sure how late now that Pleasure Island is closed. But I bet Ragland Road is open late...and maybe we could have a quick drink.

And Ann - wow! Can't wait to see you there! :yay:

Cat, I used to be a late night person and then I got old!

Remind me of your travel dates again. I could go back and find them but it's faster to ask (plus it increases my number of posts). If you are staying past the 13th we could meet up sometime later. I'd love to GTG to meet you late on Saturday but with only 4 days at the parks and since we haven't been there in over a year, we'll probably be up super early on Sunday to go to Epcot.

What a nice getaway you must have had with your sister. I really miss my sister. We have been pretty close for a long time, but we're especially close after going through the loss of our mother. We're hoping to have a getaway after the first of the year.

We are there the 6th-14th, so we'll be leaving as you are gearing up! Well, we can leave it as a wait and see thing. Where are you staying? We are at Pop Century.

And yes it was a nice getaway. My sister and I are much closer since we've been going thru the care of my mother (she has full-blown Alzheimer's). My sister is NOT a Disney girl, so going to WDW is not a fun thing for her. Hanging out at a lake was much more to her liking, and it was quite beautiful. Here's a pic of sunset from the back porch, looking towards the pier.

Wow! What a beautiful view and sunset!

I can relate to your situation with your mom. My dad has early Alzheimer's and he's grown steadily worse since losing mom. Isn't it so hard to see the deterioration?

Right now we're staying at All Star Sports. It's my least favorite value resort. We really wanted to stay at Pop Century and we're still trying to get in there, but Sports was all that was available. We'll keep things open but if we don't meet in December, I'm sure we'll meet sometime! Maybe on a cruise?!?!!

Oooooh, I've always wanted to do a Disney Cruise! Maybe that's something we can work out!

As time gets closer, we can touch bases and see if there isn't some way to get together.

Well, you could stay a few extra days at WDW and go with us on the 3 night cruise on the 18th :)

I have to say that as much as I love WDW, I love DCL equally if not a little bit more. If your sister doesn't love WDW like you do but she likes relaxing vacations, I highly recommend a cruise. And nobody does it like DCL.

Hey all...it's been a while. Life keeps me pretty busy these days trying to keep up with the ever changing economy. We may have to postpone out WDW trip in February again.

I did take some time to enjoy creating a fun pumpkin for the kids this year. I think I am going to try my hand at some Disney characters next year. Check it out through the link below.

I was happy how it turned out, so I put myself out there for a little web competition. If you happen to like it please feel free to sign up and vote for me. :thumbsup2

BTM, fun pumpkin! You'll definately have to do a Disney one next year. You sure have the skill for it. So nice to hear from you. I hope you don't have to postpone your trip. Maybe they'll have free dining in February too! The economy really IS rough right now. We're lucky to be able to do our trip in December. Free dining really helped on that one.

Aw....BTM, sorry you'll have to postpone. :sad2: That rots.
How 'bout all of us who aren't able to go to the World have our own Disney Pity Party online?

Great pumpkin! :thumbsup2 We opted for the little Mr. Potato Head-like pokey thingamajigs this year. D-Man had a great time picking which features to use. Turned out funny, but no where near as cool as yours! Seriously, steady hand!

Glad to hear from you..... :)

Wow - BTM! Long time, no hear!

The pumpkin is really cool. I haven't carved a pumpkin in years! Did you roast the pumpkin seeds? That was one of my favorite things to do at Halloween.

Hope things work out, and you are able to go to WDW in February.

Thanks all. I really enjoy getting creative with the pumpkin carving. Last year I did the Hannah Montana logo

for my daughter who dressed up as her last year. She really enjoyed that pumpkin a lot. I will have to see if I can find a photo of that one to share too. Good night all.

From the Podcast board.......

To all those waitlisted for the Mania Meet
I told you to trust me.

Everyone who was waitlisted has now been CONFIRMED!!!

We owe a HUGE HUGE HUGE debt of gratitude to Todd Farber at Gaylord Palms, Audrey Cornu and Randall Dobson at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin, Tom Yeary at The Timeshare Store and Ruben Gonzalez at Sheraton Vistana. These wonderful people ponied up some serious $$$ in order to offset the costs associated with expanding the event.

So, I'm happy to announce that not only are we allowing in everyone who wanted to attend, but we're also extending the event by 1 hour - now from 9:30pm to 12:30am.

When we told them we needed their help, not one of them even hesitated to step up. So please join me in thanking Todd, Audrey, Randal, Tom and Ruben for being such great partners and wonderful supporters of our community!!!

Thanks,
Pete

p.s. you guys meeting for Wicked...I saw it with the original cast on Broadway and I just saw the travelling show this spring....both were FANTASTIC!!! I cried as they played "Defying Gravity" and my daughter just grabbed my hand and we had a real moment....I hope the same for you and your families (my son just said to say he is 12 and LOVED it too). Hey, come to my house in Charlotte, NC after the show and we will talk and sing and and and......................

Of course they won't count! It's Disney!

Besides - I predict you will be jumping up and down so much, that you'll burn off any calories!

I can't wait to see everyone there. This is going to be mad fun!

Hey guys!! I'm back and soooooo tired. What a busy week!! I'm definitely making a list of things to do differently next time. We had 10 people in our group the first few days, and it was soooo difficult trying to coordinate everyone's agenda and still get to see each other.

And we will NEVER do the Deluxe DDP again. We ended up cancelling a bunch of our reservations and just doing counter service instead.

But don't think that I'm complaining!! We had a FANTASMIC time!!! I can't wait to tell you guys all about it!!

KK, I wondered about the Deluxe DP. I personally could do Crystal Palace for breakfast and Chef Mickey's for dinner without a problem, but then squeezing a counter service meal in there too would be tough. That said, I really did think that it would be fun if your funds would allow it. I suppose that I could probably stay 8 days, pick all of the restaurants I love, and still do it for under $70.00/day but I think it would be tight. One other fun thing that I heard about the Deluxe DP is that if you are going during free dining you can just pay the difference and get the Deluxe plan. Now that's something I could really get into. I wouldn't feel bad not using all of my TS credits if I was only paying $39.00/day.

Thanks for the advice on that one. I'm sure there were many happy people who were glad to get your cancelled ressies at the last minute. We're still desperately trying to get into Chef M's on the 13th, 16th or 17th of December. No luck at all. Hopefully someone will cancel or the wish fairy will wave her wand and we'll magically have a slot come available. I haven't done a trip without dinner at Chef M's for probably 6 years. It's a long standing tradition. Guess that's what we get for changing our January ressies to December in order to get free dining.

Glad you had a great time. Can't wait to hear the details!

Suz
