The Adventurosity Club

Just a quick note to say we are home ... now I'll just go back in the corner for a while and cry a bit...:sad2: 10 days is certainly not enough...

OK, now that I'm ready to face reality --

We had a fabulous time. Weather was perfect. No rain at all. Crowds were very manageable but each day was getting busier...you could tell it's getting closer to summer.

I feel extremely blessed to have spent a wonderful vacation in a magical place with my daughter who was just super-cool and fell in love with Disney, my DH who said he had a really great time & thanked me for planning a fabulous trip; and my parents who were able to share most of the trip with us and spend time with their grand-daughter.

I swear, each trip is better than the last!

Marshay - So glad the trip exceeded your already great expectations! Thanks again for the postcard, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing your pictures and hearing more about the trip.

Hello! Welcome home, Marshay!

I know I haven't had a chance to catch up on the last few pages of comments yet, but I had to pop in to say hi! I get on a plane in less than 9 hours for my first official CMO trip! I will definitely get back in here sometime over the weekend to fill you all in (again, sorry that I don't have a computer to take with me!)

As of now, Tuesday will be mostly prep work (a stop in costuming, media training, etc.). Wednesday I'll be up bright and early (out the door at 5:00 a.m.) for a day filled with press events for Toy Story Mania! as well as a magical moment later in the day at Epcot. Thursday morning will be back at Disney's Hollywood Studios for some more Toy Story Mania! events and then I'll be off to the Magic Kingdom for some special surprises. Friday morning I start at Disney's Animal Kingdom for an early morning magical moment or two and then sadly I have to fly home Friday night. I can already tell it is going to go WAY too quickly!

See you all when I'm back home and at a computer!

Justin - I know you're not on line now but just wanted to say thanks again for keeping us posted. It is totally fun to think of you in the midst of your first official duties!!

And thanks everyone for the great dreams and favorites in response to Suz's questions. I'm still working on mine - it's a really fun project. I keep changing what my unrealistic dream is. As soon as I settle down with it I'll report in.

Oh my gosh, that was the meanest thing!! My heart just jumped with excitement and I almost screamed out loud and woke Jeff. You are naughty, naughty, naughty!!

Aw, so sorry Suz.......forgive me? :flower3: And how sweet that you got so excited! (Truth is.....I always say that if money and square footage wasn't an issue that I'd happily have more. But unfortunately, we're completely out of both!)

Marshay!

I don't think I said WELCOME HOME! And thank you so much for the postcard! You are awesome! I'm so glad you had a great time. That's one really nice thing with this thread and our new friends...it seems like someone else goes to Disney every month or so. Next up......my big boy, Stephen!

This is a fun way for us to "feel" like we got to go too!

Glad you're back!

-Amy

Haunted Fleagle, you should have reminded me that this "working" thing takes up a lot of time!!!

I have missed you all so much!

Amy, I agree that having our board family going to Disney makes it feel like we go a little bit too!

Cathie.....I LOVE your barrel.....:rotfl2: And just when I think I am starting to understand websites and stuff you ALWAYS trump me!

Printing little brochures and business cards today--so off to the races for me. Still very anxious about all of this!

Thanks so much for the Disney Diversion!! :grouphug:

Ann.... I'm so happy and excited that your business has started! I wish you much success. The working thing does suck.... but I've been off the last two weeks. Long story short.... the place I got hired to be a nurse assistant was really very shady.... I resigned after only three days. But right around the corner was another opportunity, doing logistics and routing for a furniture company here on the East Coast.... which is what I used to do before. So it is familliar territory for me, they almost matched my old salary, plus I have flexibility to take my classes at night. Serendipity I say!

Well, congratulations Stephen. Mom is always the last to know. :sad2:

Seriously.....I'm happy for you! :thumbsup2

........Can you forgive me? :love2:

Absolutely! Love is unconditional. ;)

I'm really happy....you even "sound" happy about your new job. Isn't that odd how you can "sound" like anything when we're just typing?

Maybe you should wear your yellow shirt tomorrow? You always spread an extra bit of sunshine! :sunny:

Good morning Everyone! I have a small window of time this morning before I hop in the shower. Painters are coming at 8:00 to start on the downstairs and will work up from there. I thought I'd answer another one of the conversation starters but I'm going out of order because this one is easier to answer so it will go quickly.

My favorite Disney $$ saving tip is of course "FREE DINING". This is the first year we'll miss the free dining after going for the last three years with Balloon Guy and his family. For our family, dining out at Disney is a HUGE part of the experience. Last year we went for 6 nights and 7 days, stayed at Pop Century and spent $1200 for three of us for hotel, park tickets, and meals. We ate at Le Cellier, Kona Cafe, Crystal Palace breakfast, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace again (but for dinner this time), and one other place that I can't recall without looking at my notes which are packed already.

The first year we did free dining we ate at Le Cellier the first night. The bill was $191.00 and we just scanned our KTTW (room key) and one dining credit was deducted for each of us. We had appetizers, entree, dessert, and beverages. We also ate at Cindy's Royal Table (not a great experience for us but the food was good) and Boma that trip. We LOVE Boma (and Norway) but the food at both places isn't for everyone so we don't go as often as we travel more with friends now.

Some other money saving tips are:
1. Bringing fun souvenirs from home and sneak them out every day
2. Using brunch as our "main meal" of the day
3. Bringing breakfast items from home (whole wheat bagels and Nutella)
4. Photo Pass CD

I have others but I must get in the shower now. If I can post later I'll do it.

Happy Thursday to all! It's almost the weekend!!!!

It's true.... I feel better about this opportunity then the other one.

I'm getting my pre-trip haircut today and it is a bit gloomy out here.... so a bright shirt would do the trick.

My favorite Disney $$ saving tip is of course "FREE DINING".

We just did the dining plan again (not free but still worth the $$ in my opinion) and one thing we learned this trip -- when eating your CS meal, ask for the large drink size and an extra cup of ice water. We get extremely thirsty in the parks so having the large drink and extra water is great.

(The times we did not ask for the large size, we were given the small)

Trying to catch up ...

Suz -- great questions, and I'll get to them

HMF -- have a WONDERFUL trip!!! I'm so excited for you! And I'm glad you are out of the other "shady" job.

Ann -- glad to hear you are under way! And I made Vistaprint business cards for free and they look great!
