The Adventurosity Club

Thanks for the link Cat! What a nice message from Justin. Very heartfelt!

Thanks Amy! As you can tell from reading it, that was written back after the trip in April.

What I nice letter! I'm still looking forward to hearing more about the experience. Hint hint.

Ha ha . . . I get the hint, FTC. Really, I am trying! I'll be able to be online a bit more this afternoon and then hopefully a fair bit tomorrow (even though the weather is finally nice in Pittsburgh!) as I finish typing updates and such. It's my goal today to at least open a new CMO thread . . . I don't know that I'll have to post anything too exciting, but hopefully it will at least be up and running!

Super cool letter! Lou Mongello talks on the WDW Radio Podcast this week about meeting Justin at the press event.

Thanks for keeping everyone informed! I will be catching up with several podcasts as the year goes by, and I'll try to make sure you know which ones they all are. Lou was great to meet in person and he is definitely someone I'll be keeping in touch with.

Okay! There is a new thread open on the main "Theme Park Attractions and Strategies" page (I hope that's the best location). I titled it "Chat with the Chief Magic Official"

Here is where those offers to help can start coming in handy . . . can someone post a link in this thread and the "We Be Trippin'" thread to my new CMO thread? (Or educate me on how to do it?) Also, if you are a member of the moms panel or if you frequent other threads or forums, please share with them about the new DIS home for CMO-related questions!

THANK YOU!

Hey gang..... I'm home safe and sound! Once I get pics transferred, I will be updating everyone with our adventure.

Welcome!!!

So hopefully I will get a few pics posted today, I personally didn't take very many pics around the parks (kind of a been there, photographed that attitude... horrible I know!), but the newbies that went with us did. BUT.... I did have a surprise travelling companion that I have plenty of pics to share. Hehehehehe.....

Ok gang.... fasten your seatbelts and bring your seatbacks and tray tables into their upright and locked positions.... we are off!

5/16 - We arrived around midnight, picked up the car and headed to the condo... go there at 12:45.... exhausted and went right to sleep.

5/17 - Slept in, did some grocery shopping, then picked up my brother's girlfriend at the airport in the afternoon. Later that evening we went to....

Right down the street from the Condo.... it is the one located near Wet N' Wild on International.

They really do have live gators.... you can buy food for them and feed them from the end of fishing lines.

5/18 - We went to Universal. I didn't take any pictures..... why? Because I don't like Universal.... so there. Hahahahahahahahaha. We had fun there though, got up early to beat the crowds. We did "Revenge of the Mummy" a few times because there was no wait. We also did the new "Simpsons" ride.... a BIG thumbs down for that. It was awful, we all felt sick after. Headed over to IOA after some lunch and did the rides there..... and that sums up the time at Universal. Hahahaha.... can you tell I'm not a fan?

5/19 - We went to Sea World. I had been a few years back and didn't have a good experience, so needless to say I wasn't looking forward to this visit... but I was pleasantly surprised. The crowds were low, the landscaping was beautiful, and the rides were fun. My only disappointment was the new "Believe" show... we were all in agreement that there needed to be more of Shamu and his friends and less "schmaltzy story". On to some pics!!!

Puffins!

Penguins!

Penguins???? Actually this is my friend Becky acting like a penguin and her husband questioning what the heck we are doing.

We headed over and saw the new Sea Lion area.... they were making a ton of noise that day.... you could buy food to feed them also, so we did.

DSCN1272.jpg

How cute are they?

DSCN1274.jpg

The Becky got over her fear of sharks so we could go into the "Shark Encounter".... she had to get over it because DH loves sharks!

And finally here is DH and I at the entrance on the way back to the car. If we look soaking wet it is because we had ridden "Journey to Atlantis" two times in a row. It is a fun ride, but seriously messed up.... I felt like I had taken drugs before I went on it.

After Sea World we went back to the condo and relaxed for a bit... then went to O'hana!!!!! Meat on sticks!!!!! They changed the menu a bit from the last time we went, but it was still delicious.

5/20 - We went to Hollywood Studios. I kept checking to see if Toy Story Mania was open, but alas we missed it. The weather was beautiful all day... mid 80's and low humidity. Everyone enjoyed Tower of Terror and Rock N' Roller Coaster.

Here is my brother's girlfriend and I in front of Rock N' Roller Coaster.... why do I look like I have eight chins?

That is all for now.... I'm headed to a cookout at my parents, but will try and update some more tonight.

Madbrad - Great adventures for Skinny Mickey!

On a sad note, my sweet kitty Emma finally succumbed to a long illness yesterday. She had hung in there with great spirits and tremendous strength but it was finally not fair to her to ask her to be here anymore. A friend and fellow vet helped me to send Emma on her way and it was totally gentle and peaceful. I'm just so sad that she's not here today.

On a rockin' note, my best friend got me a fantastically fun gig volunteering at the opening night of the Seattle Film Festival. A small group of us were each designated as a guide for one of the stars of the opening film "Battle in Seattle". Charlize Theron and her husband Stuart Townsend (he directed the film), Michelle Rodriguez from Lost (Cathie I SO wished you were here!), Andre Benjamin from OutKast and Martin Henderson were all here. Martin Henderson was my assignment. I got to pick him up at his hotel with a car and driver and escort him to the opening, walk the red carpet, hang out with the whole group at the parties before and after the film and attend the press conference after the screening. They were all fantastically nice and fun. Our extra special bonus celebrity was Eddie Vedder, who did some of the music for the film. It was definitely an evening to remember. The film is fantastic, based on the events around the protests over the WTO meeting here in Seattle in 1999, and of course it was special to see it here where the events took place.

oh how sad!! I still cry over my baby (chihuahua) and it's been over a month. :sad1: Although most of my tears are due to the horrible way it happened (we weren't even there when he was put to sleep and had to find out later that he was really "gone".....I'm still SO TICKED at the way the stupid ASPCA handled it... )

Sorry, I can't help thinking about him when I read something like this.

 Glad her way out was peaceful, but I know it doesn't help the fact that she's not there anymore. My condolences for your loss.

thanks! I am there!
