Cruise # 4 in 3 years, and then hopefully booking back to backs for next year, when I am onboard...

YES!!! I've done that in emails before and had people write back only to ask me to explain what those acronyms meant!!! -- we have our own language over here!!!

The positive feedback only encourages me. You're all proving my college girlfriend was right, that I am indeed "just weird enough to have a following". Haven't seen or had contact w/ her in 20 years...if she has been on DCL, would that make her my DCGF? And talk about falling off the wagon--ha! like i'll ever make it to 30 days, like in that last fictional posting...yep, I went out and bought another lime green t-shirt today...one was not enough...doesn't say "DIS" on it, and Wal mart had it for $4.47, but a junkie who gets his drugs for free is still a junkie, right? And upon further review, if I'd had a second draft,shouldn't I have had Al Gore claiming to have invented DCL? Missed that one.

Nope, in response to the good natured position that I knew the AA mantra "too well" and thus my secret was out, I am not an alcoholic, or an excessive drinker or abuser of alcohol, neither is anyone in my family, and neither have I ever attended any meetings that follow the model established by AA. My knowledge of the mantra, with isn't a secret, originated 21 years ago in a college industrial sociology course on Employee Assistance Programs in which learning about AA was part of the curriculum, and my late professor told us that he had to respond to the same innocent by mistaken impression that he was an alcoholic all the time because of his relationship and advisory role to the organization. Wow, been a long time since I thought about Professoer Harry "A-" Trice (if you registered for his class, showed up for his lectures, and tried to do the projects assigned to us, you could get no lower than an A- from him. I have a world of respect for someone who gains day by day will power to resist such forces so no jokes or disrespect intended and I do hope none taken. the sarcastic vision of the Walt D meeting is easily picked up fromvarious representations on many television shows and movies (I am told by a recent AA attendee friend that the enthusiastic "Hi Logan" is complete fabrication for the sake usually of a comedic situation, and that it is usually just quietly mumbled by a few). I wish I could conquer food that way. But that is another thread....
3. DCGF--Disney College Girl Friend. Not from Disney college, but a College Girl Friend, if she had gone on a DCL cruise,would that make her a Disney College Girl Friend, DCGF, was my question.

I am glad you realized that I posted that all in fun! (and I have to admit that I only knew it (the mantra) because my DH had to go to the meetings as a court appointed thing at one time and I went with him for company) Hee hee! Glad those days are behind us!

Edited to add: We were in the MCO Airport yesterday waiting to catch our flight home and I keep checking everyone I saw in "LIME GREEN" to see if they had a "green Mickey head" anywhere on their person. I was trying to pick out some DISfriends, but said to say, I didn't find any. I swore one lady must have been a DIS'er with all the lime green she was wearing (still no green Mickey head), but I'm not the kind of person to walk up to a stranger and say, "Do you belong to the DIS?"

Oh, the ugliness of it all.

I have 'run into you' on so many other threads, and always find myself thinking... a man after my own heart!!!!!! I'd let you represent me in a court of law any day!!

I'd have to stand up at the first official meeting of Friends of Walt D. and confess that I have hidden my addiction from DH, DS & DD... guess that means I am in the denial stage??? (Although, the cruise is a Christmas surprise this year... so I don't want to give them too much info til Dec... then they'll all STILL have 5 months to become addicts like me!!)

My family know of my addiction and yes, they do make fun of me from time to time but when we were able to jump lines right to the CCC line and I ran into "fellow disers" there and they new NOBODY who was laughing then??? Yep, me!!! And yes, I knew of the free pop and they didn't.....some addictions are healthy!!!
