Could the safari ride at WDW tip over? What if it happened?

Those are some huge trucks that travel at just 15 miles an hour or so, I think it would be VERY unlikely this would happen, even if charged by a Rhino or Elephant (which also cannot really happen).

What accident? I am in the dark someone please turn on the light. ;)

Nevermind, I guess I shoulda scrolled down and checked things out :slaps forehead: DUH!

I have been on the KS around 50 times and have had some drivers seeming to drive really fast when we get to the pochers camp are. I never really felt it was possible to tip tose vehicles and will go on them the next time I am there.

holy s--- that is about the funniest thing I've ever heard. It;s not like this was a mechanical error( like in a roller coaster). how the hell did this happen.

I feel realy bad for thoes poor people. Tipping over in the rino exhibit! But anyway, Banzi, the RR cars are smaller (in lenght and width) than the the KS cars. Plus, I sware that when you pass by the hippos in KS, the cars will feel like their going to tip over into the water below!

The safari trucks would be very difficult to tip over. They only go roughly 8 to 10 miles per hour. They also weigh a few tons more than a large truck. I think I remember hearing they weigh 12 tons but that info is a little foggy. I think it is possible to tip the truck over if is somehow got off to the side on a bridge but I think that is the only way.:p

I wonder if this is why the shaking bridge sequence has been removed?

My brother drives the vehicles in Kilimanjaro Safari. The only accident there was a mistake made by the driver. (ok, it was my brother...;) ) The vehicles on Rhino Rally are tall and narrow with a high center of gravity. This poor design makes them prone to flipping over, as we have seen. The Kilimanjaro Safari vehicles are wider and have a very low center of gravity. It is nearly impossible for one to tip over. And they can go as fast as 40 mph, but they usually don't go that fast during the ride. As for the shaking bridge, I'm not sure why it was removed. They got rid of that long before Rhino Ralley. I'm pretty sure it was removed because it did not always work, plus it caused backups.

I heard about this accident today, but I was told it was at WDW. I am glad to have this board to find out what really happened. People who are not familiar with the parks don`t seem to be able to differentiate between them. I`m very happy to hear it wasn`t AK.

WOW!
Rhinos one way and crocodiles the other!
Sounds like the handlers yelled, "Dinner!" and the rhinos came running.
Sounds like my dad's cows...
