Actually, I try to be.
I hate when people promise that they'll do something for you/with you/whatever and don't follow through.

It's called integrity; and it's rather difficult to find these days.

Found a peanut
found a peanut
found a peanut, last night.
Last night I found a peanut
found a peanut
last night.

NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DID!!

Do you eat squid?

I don't come cheap lady.
[/QUOTE]

I haven't been called that in a while. ;)

 to DD #2!

She's way too busy with other hobbies and work to be on the nets much. Karate is her #1 passion and of the time she's at her dojo.

Oh, that was cruel.

It wasn't true?

Huh. And does it speed up boarding at all?

There have actually been studies on that; and the evidence is inconclusive. I think it does; they started boarding and it was done in less than 20 minutes. It's a pretty quick turnaround with SW.

"torqued"

I like that.

I used that in high school and it kinda stuck with me. I still like it 100 years later.

Ah. Now it all makes sense.

:D Scattered, smothered and chunked.

I don't know all the rules in the U.S., but it's also possible that they just separated themselves visually.
With pretty much anything bigger than a hand mixer being equiped with TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) mid-airs are pretty much a thing of the past.

Certainly possble! I went flying with a friend about a year ago, and it was fun to see/hear it in action. Every time anything got within a certain distance the alarm would sound and a calm, demure voice would say, "traffic at 1:00" or such. It was pretty cool.

What is???? :confused3

A game called Pond Scum. I'm sure you can find it online. :)

Ah. Well, beats writing exams, doesn't it?

It was certainly fast enough. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. I'm sure the coffee was a factor in that.

That place is evil.
Everytime I look at it, I get hungry.

I thought that the dining reviews on the DIS Boards would have been more... detailed. They just aren't. From the ones I've clicked on, they are brief, the pix are not very good, and there is almost a total lack of talking about the restauarant/decor/setting/menu etc....

I LOVE @Flossbolna 's and @glennbo123 's reports especially for their depth and detailed descriptions, but there are others that are great too: yours, Marks, Andy's and Cynthia's. I have gotten my best info from right here on TRs. I just find it odd that the "better" dining reports aren't there.

Ugh, yuck. Gross.
Sorry to hear that.
Hopefully (if guilty) he goes away for a long while.

It's coming to light that he has had prior convictions of grossness; why on EARTH he's out at all is a complete mystery.

All right! Cha-ching!

WOOT!

I'll be here! :goodvibes

Yay! A good and faithful reader!

Yikes about the neighbor, but woo hoo on having 2/3 tuition paid.:yay:

Well, 2/3 of FIRST Term's tuition. Getting closer until the time that "everything else" goes straight to the trip.

Love this picture!

Thanks!

I can't resist asking did a bird DOO DOO on your head !!:rotfl2:For sure one would have on me !!!:rotfl:

Funny you should ask that! I didn't, but Anara did! :lmao::lmao:

A lot of the good dining reporters have left the Dis. Too much drama and too little time. I'm friends with a few on FB.

Thanks! Although I usually never know how to describe something beyond saying "it was really good". But come to think of it, whenever I see Andrew Zimmern all he can say is that something had a "nutty flavor"...it's uncanny.

I'm sad she stopped doing Reports! Was it the drama and the "new" rules they came out with a couple of years back?? I know they make you finish up in a super fast time, and that made it nearly impossible to do. No one really has THAT much time on their hands to do BOTH a truly quality report and hurry to do it. :(

Thanks! Although I usually never know how to describe something beyond saying "it was really good". But come to think of it, whenever I see Andrew Zimmern all he can say is that something had a "nutty flavor"...it's uncanny.

It goes well beyond saying, "It's good." In order to make choices about where I want to try or what to order, I want to see photos of the restaurant AND have the feeling/ambiance described. Is it fun? Low key? Classy? Loud? etc... Was the food a good value? Portions big? Small? Service crappy? Overdone? Was it clean? I think a lot can go into a good review- yours tend to be thorough. :)

Got caught up on your last couple of chapters. Had to laugh at the "may-deeum chayze-burger" or however you said it. Kentucky has to be just about the most humid place I've ever been. We did a couple of mission trips there back before kids and learned to take 2 towels for each of us because they wouldn't get dry in one day -- you had to alternate them so they could dry.

Um, don't look now, but there's a bird on your head.

t goes well beyond saying, "It's good." In order to make choices about where I want to try or what to order, I want to see photos of the restaurant AND have the feeling/ambiance described. Is it fun? Aw shucks. Thanks.

I didn't know if she was on the board or not. I meant for you to pass along the "hi" verbally.

It wasn't true?

Well.... yes. But you didn't have to rub it in!!

There have actually been studies on that; and the evidence is inconclusive. I think it does; they started boarding and it was done in less than 20 minutes. It's a pretty quick turnaround with SW.

Interesting.
I know they did a thing on Mythbusters where they found the most efficient boarding system was no system at all.
Which is counter-intuitive, no?

I used that in high school and it kinda stuck with me. I still like it 100 years later.

::yes::

A game called Pond Scum. I'm sure you can find it online. :)

Well, I found several different ones.
But I get that it's a game, at least.

No. They're very surface level. At least they were when I was last over there... several years ago.

Mine??? I don't do dining reviews!
I would totally suck at that!
"Um.... I ate it. So there's that. And... uh.... it was okay?"

It's coming to light that he has had prior convictions of grossness; why on EARTH he's out at all is a complete mystery.

I was just reading about a guy who was arrested for stealing a GPS out of a car.
The article explained that he had 40 prior convictions.

What I think they should do is pick a number.
5, 10, 20... whatever. Just pick one!
When you hit that number, the judge says this.
"Well, Mr./Mrs./Ms. ______ you've hit your magic number. I'm letting you go with just a warning this time. And the warning is, if we catch you one more time you get to spend the rest of your life in prison, since you obviously can't learn."

grrrr...

Yay! A good and faithful reader!

Faithful? Perhaps.
Good? Doubtful!

F is for First Day Fun; Pt. 2

We last left off with the plans of having several glorious hours spent touring our way through EPCOT- both FW and WS. Hopes of doing a couple of the Agent P Adventures are on the docket, as well as letting things go a bit in Norway. Of course, I'll always let a bit of cash go for a dish of Rice Cream there, but that's a whole nuther post about snacks. *At least I hope that the new little frolic with Elsa is up and running... I haven't seen a date yet, but then again, she can be a bit cold and elusive.

So, after snacking our way through lunch by way of Food and Wine booths, it'll be time to put those exorbitantly priced PH's to good use. My best estimates have us leaving around 2:00 (that gives us 3 hours in WS) for a more Magical Kingdom. The only obvious choice is by monorail, because that's "more Disney" than a bus. I'm sure I'll have a naysayer or two, but that's just us. I want to stand clear of the doors. Because they are polite and say, “Por favor”.

I had wanted to save my 3 FP's for this part of the day, but now am 2nd guessing that. Maybe we should grab one for Soarin' for earlier and then use the 2 left on MK attractions and hope we can grab more as the afternoon wears on. Marv had a good point... they may have the 3rd theater done; then all plans go up in the air. I mean things are headed that way anyway, but you get the point. If that's the case, I'll definitely save all 3 for the MK and likely use them for it's a small world, tiki and Dumbo.

Simmer down. You know I'm kidding. I think the best game plan would be using them for Space, BTMRR, and the obvious 7DMT. The continuous loaders, like my favorite of all, HM, can be done late at night with almost no wait, at least from past trips' experience. I'd hope to pull a few more for Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and PP later on. We definitely won't be using any of them for shows, meets, fireworks, parades, etc...

The other big factor on how this evening plays out for FP+s is that I wanted to knock off my long-awaited, once hosed over by Disney, Mickey's pretty tame, not really very scary Halloween Party. I know the crowds will build starting at 4:00 for that, but then quickly thinning to only party go-ers. Which, from what I really hear isn't much thinning out at all. It's mostly competely crammed and mob scene-esque. We all know that the parade, Hallowishes, a little time in the dance party and a bit of trick-or-treating is the business of the evening. However, the HM is the top priority, followed closely by the Boo to You Parade. The Cadaver Dans are pretty far up there as well. I chose this first park day to pound this out because I know we'll be as fresh as possible, not having stayed up too late the night before, and that West Coast time will still be working to our advantage at this point.

Dinner?? Well, I don't imagine we'll have gorged ourselves too terribly at F&W earlier, so we should be hungry around 6:00 or 7:00. And since I'll likely be having buyer's regret on spending what I did at EPCOT earlier, I'm thinking I'll want to give my wallet a rest by doing Casey's corn doggie nuggets chased by Dole Whips. Both are easy to eat on the run, we can still tour, watch shows, or whatever happens to be going on at that time.

So.... for those of you who've done the MNSSHP, what kind of plan did you have? Were you happy with it? What would you have done differently? Must-sees? Skips? We aren't big candy eaters, but I kinda do want to see maybe some of the rarer characters they bring out. Best place to watch the parade? Hallowishes?

Also, do you think they will do a flag-lowering ceremony on a party day?

Aw shucks. Thanks.

Glad you're all caught up! You've been scarce lately... things pick back up at work, or are you still trying to play catch up after your trip? BTW, I didn't miss a TR, right?? I mean, you'd tell me, right?

Kentucky was sooooo hot and humid on about 1/3 of our days there. The rest was pretty bearable. And I'm one of the weird ones that does actually like (or at least tolerates) humidity.

They were attack birds! Seriously, they were SO aggressive we had to duck from the incoming. Makes me wonder if they starved the poor things. That or they just really liked the nectar in the cups.

You're entirely welcome!

"Is there an app for that?"

:sad2:

It's and application called good parenting.

Not often. I've tried it a few times and... meh.

Chewy. And tasteless.

Oh?
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Well, now you have me wondering.

So she can beat me up too. Cool.
I didn't know if she was on the board or not. I meant for you to pass along the "hi" verbally.

Let's just say I'd hate to meet her in a dark alley. And LOL! I did.

Well.... yes. But you didn't have to rub it in!!

Of course I did.

Interesting.
I know they did a thing on Mythbusters where they found the most efficient boarding system was no system at all.
Which is counter-intuitive, no?

It kind of is. I suppose most travelers just want to get the show on the road so do what they can to get settled. Of course, there's always the dawdlers and the ones who feel they are entitled. :sad2:

Well, I found several different ones.
But I get that it's a game, at least

I'm sure there are several iterations. It's a camping staple in our house. And depending on who the kids have hung out with last, it's a new one every time.

No. They're very surface level. At least they were when I was last over there... several years ago.

Hopefully, I can come up with something worthwhile next year after my trip. And they are of some use to someone planning a trip.

Mine??? I don't do dining reviews!
I would totally suck at that!
"Um.... I ate it. So there's that. And... uh.... it was okay?"

Well, even pix are of SOME use. ;)

I was just reading about a guy who was arrested for stealing a GPS out of a car.

Any system would seem better than the arbitrary load of crap we seem to have now. It seems random and therefore rigged. I me no likey.

Faithful? Perhaps.
Good? Doubtful!

I'll call you "good", if you stick with "lady". That way we can both feel better. :lmao:

Hopes of doing a couple of the Agent P Adventures are on the docket,

Ditto. I'll see how Kay feels about it at the time.
She was iffy on it when I mentioned it.

Of course, I'll always let a bit of cash go for a dish of Rice Cream there

You're the second person I've heard mention it.
I'm really going to have to look that one over, I think.

At least I hope that the new little frolic with Elsa is up and running... I haven't seen a date yet, but then again, she can be a bit cold and elusive.

Just between you and me?
I hear she's frigid.

My best estimates have us leaving around 2:00 (that gives us 3 hours in WS) for a more Magical Kingdom.

A more magical kingdom?
Blizzard Beach? That's pretty magical. I mean really. Snow? In Florida?
(Which, right there, illustrates why I'll almost certainly never go there.)

The only obvious choice is by monorail, because that's "more Disney" than a bus. I'm sure I'll have a naysayer or two, but that's just us.

No way. Monorail is the only way to travel between MK and Epcot.

I want to stand clear of the doors. Because they are polite and say, “Por favor”.

Are you sure? Are they polite like when a southerner says "Bless your heart"?

I had wanted to save my 3 FP's for this part of the day, but now am 2nd guessing that. Maybe we should grab one for Soarin' for earlier and then use the 2 left on MK attractions and hope we can grab more as the afternoon wears on.

Um. No.
You can't get FP+ for two different parks unless you've already used up your allotment and are physically in another park.

So I would suggest hitting Soarin' at rope drop if you're going early, otherwise FP+ it another day or watch Lines for short(ish) wait times and book your three FPs for MK.

I'll definitely save all 3 for the MK and likely use them for it's a small world, tiki and Dumbo.

You ain't foolin' no one, sistah.

Simmer down. You know I'm kidding.

Yep.

The continuous loaders, like my favorite of all, HM, can be done late at night with almost no wait, at least from past trips' experience.

::yes:: That's been my experience as well.
Even last trip, there was a line that snaked all the way down to the Liberty Belle dock.
Still was on the ride in a relatively short period.

I know the crowds will build starting at 4:00 for that, but then quickly thinning to only party go-ers. Which, from what I really hear isn't much thinning out at all.

I only went the one time and that was five years ago.
We noticed a definite thinning out of guests.
Yes there were still a lot of people, but it wasn't bad.

However, the HM is the top priority, followed closely by the Boo to You Parade.

::yes::

So.... for those of you who've done the MNSSHP, what kind of plan did you have?

We really didn't have one.
We're not big into characters and dance parties so we didn't do those.
We made sure to do some trick or treating... which was a lot of fun.
Brought back some nice memories from when I was a kid.
I mean come on! When can you go trick or treating as an adult???
Also made the parade and Hallowishes a priority.
Natch we did HM a few times. The ghost lady out front was terrific.

Must-sees?
The parade. Best ever. Do not miss the Headless Horseman (be advised he won't go if the ground is wet.)
Do not miss Hallowishes. Best fireworks I've ever seen. Then again, I'm biased. I love Halloween.
I don't know about now, but the party went on after the parade and Hallowishes were done.
The park emptied out and we watched the parade a second time later that night.
I think there were maybe a dozen people all told on Main St. to watch it.

Best place to watch the parade? Hallowishes?

We watched from the hub. I'd recommend that too since Hallowishes will shoot out all around you as opposed to just infront of you (if you were to be down Main St.)
Of course this info is five years old and things may have changed.

It's and application called good parenting.

Must be an expensive app since so few people seem to have downloaded it.

Chewy. And tasteless.

Agreed.

Let's just say I'd hate to meet her in a dark alley. And LOL! I did.

:lmao:

Of course I did.

Yes, you did.

Of course, there's always the dawdlers and the ones who feel they are entitled. :sad2:

Entitled people.

Don't get me started...

Well, even pix are of SOME use. ;)

That I can do.
"Look! Food! Eat!"

I'll call you "good", if you stick with "lady". That way we can both feel better. :lmao:

:rotfl: Deal!

The only obvious choice is by monorail, because that's "more Disney" than a bus. I'm sure I'll have a naysayer or two, but that's just us. I want to stand clear of the doors. Because they are polite and say, “Por favor”.

Well, yeah. It's not a real Disney trip until you ride the monorail.

If that's the case, I'll definitely save all 3 for the MK and likely use them for it's a small world, tiki and Dumbo.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Well, I don't imagine we'll have gorged ourselves too terribly at F&W earlier, so we should be hungry around 6:00 or 7:00.

Sounds like famous last words to me...:rolleyes1

And yes, I'm talking about more than just Cracker Barrel, Waffle House, and bourbon.
The Corvette Museum????

You're speaking my language... :rolleyes1

Piles of various kinds of wool, spinning wheels (obviously not used for large-scale production)
When you see Aurora, don't tell her about it!

His handler/trainer got him to that point in about a year; if only he was taking care of himself with as much meticulousness. Mountain Dew, chew, and maybe another vice had taken its toll, and try as hard as we might, we could NOT understand one word he was saying other than the frequent y'alls peppered throughout the drawl.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

It's all fun and games until a bird poops on your head.

Love homemade salsa. But not sure it would be fun to have a backpack soaked in it. :headache:

Paging Mr. @afwdwfan!! As Andy already reminded me.... Yes, I do know the difference- one being worth far more than the other, but yes, I fully understand the ignoramous feeling 12 year olds can bestow. I get it almost every day.
@pkondz is just a lost cause.

And as far as value goes, it depends on the type/quality of hay and what kind of sucker you have buying it. Like those horse people who want pure alfalfa hay. I've got a friend who bales a lot of hay and he loves horse people. He feeds the cheap stuff to his own animals and they do just fine. :rotfl2:

The only obvious choice is by monorail, because that's "more Disney" than a bus. I'm sure I'll have a naysayer or two, but that's just us.
::yes:: Those naysayers are wrong.

Maybe we should grab one for Soarin' for earlier and then use the 2 left on MK attractions and hope we can grab more as the afternoon wears on
@pkondz already mentioned it, but this will not work. You'll either have to use all 3 in EPCOT and then just take your chance on what you can get for a 4th at MK, or (what I'd do) just save your 3 for MK and hit Soarin at RD. If you have a group willing to move fast, you can do Soarin' right away, hit TT - single rider line if the standby is too long and then the rest of the attractions you wanted to do shouldn't have too much of a line by this point.

I hope it isn't too crowded. I know at MVMCP last year, we went on a sold out night and it was the least crowded MVMCP I've ever attended.

That would actually be a very nice dinner. I'd enjoy that!

I'm looking forward to trying Soarin' again with the new theme/video. I haven't gone on it in years, because my kids take turns being scared. They both said they'd try it again since it's a new video, you now if we get the bottom row.:scared:;)

MNSSHP- we went twice. Each trip a bit different, first one we went during the week, I think the first party night, crowds were light by Disney standards and we got to do a little of everything. Second time was I think a weekend because my niece was with us and she goes to traditional school (her mom won't let her miss, so they only go weekends). anyhow..... my kids are allergic to dye so we don't do very many trick or treat lines, just a few for them to get the idea. One year they were giving bananas away in front of jungle cruise and that was perfect. The first year we made the mistake of doing the second parade and my little one missed it because he was asleep right before it started (your kids are older so I don't see you having that issue). The second year we skipped the parade :sad2: it's always hit and miss doing any disney trip/party/event with my kids because of sensory issues and what not. The extra decor was fun and we took some fun "extra pictures" and we liked checking out what other people were wearing. The one thing and possible tip I remember is: we sat down for the parade across from the castle with some snacks really early and we got to see the Villain show in front of the castle (which we didn't plan, but was great to pass the time) and the parade started shortly after. So I would try and time that to happen.

Ditto. I'll see how Kay feels about it at the time.
She was iffy on it when I mentioned it.

Drat, shoulda put that on my list of things to add to your "consideration list". Might have gotten another point.

You're the second person I've heard mention it.
I'm really going to have to look that one over, I think.

You must. Well, if you like rice, and creamy, dreamy whipped cream, but not too sweet a dessert. Topped with berry compote of sorts. It's one of my very faves that I'd do every trip.

Just between you and me?
I hear she's frigid.

BUT!~ she's makes cool castles.

A more magical kingdom?
Blizzard Beach? That's pretty magical. I mean really. Snow? In Florida?
(Which, right there, illustrates why I'll almost certainly never go there.)

Why didn't they put the Elsa stuff over there? Why, oh WHY!? I mean it's a eternal winter there.....

No way. Monorail is the only way to travel between MK and Epcot.

Beep, beep.

Are you sure? Are they polite like when a southerner says "Bless your heart"?

Oh, I hadn't thought of it that way before. Maybe the Siri voice they use is just plain rude.

Um. No.
You can't get FP+ for two different parks unless you've already used up your allotment and are physically in another park.

So I would suggest hitting Soarin' at rope drop if you're going early, otherwise FP+ it another day or watch Lines for short(ish) wait times and book your three FPs for MK.

Daggnabbit! Every time I think I've got this thing worked out, another caveat comes into play. And I even knew about that one, but had forgotten it. Ok, so even if Soarin' takes a wee bit of extra time, I'll save the 3 for MK. The parks are at maximum load in the afternoon about the time we'll have hopped, so it makes the most sense to use those FP's for then.

You ain't foolin' no one, sistah.

;)

::yes:: That's been my experience as well.
Even last trip, there was a line that snaked all the way down to the Liberty Belle dock.
Still was on the ride in a relatively short period.

Good to hear. I just am way too impatient to wait more than 15-20 in a line. For just about anything.

I only went the one time and that was five years ago.
We noticed a definite thinning out of guests.
Yes there were still a lot of people, but it wasn't bad.

Also good to hear! I'm pretty pumped to see the extravagant changes in the nighttime lighting and to the HM and just get that whimsical, creepy vibe.

We typically don't do characters either; won't wait more than about 5 minutes, if that, to see any of them, but I do love the rarer ones and wouldn't mind catching a couple, just to say I did. (<--- longest sentence ever.) Yes, I think some t-o-t'ing will be kinda novel. :) And yes, the ghost lady, I'm anticipating, is the star of the show. Her and the grave diggers.

The parade.

I know I"m supposed to "be in position" well before the parade starts. Watching it twice would be uber cool! Just don't want to skimp on riding HM or Pirates while the gettin's good.

We watched from the hub. I'd recommend that too since Hallowishes will shoot out all around you as opposed to just infront of you (if you were to be down Main St.)
Of course this info is five years old and things may have changed.

So, the fireworks show is RIGHT after the first parade??

Must be an expensive app since so few people seem to have downloaded it.

Don't even get me started... (see below)

Entitled people.

That I can do.
"Look! Food! Eat!"

I"m counting on it!

:sad2:

I'm guessing this isn't the only park day you will have in Epcot. That is why I said just blow Soarin' off this day and do all the others............save Soarin' for another day and use those FP+ for the afternoon for sure. Soarin' can be priority another day when you aren't trying to max out your rides done and still be at WS before 11 to get ahead of those crowds and do your Food booths in time to make it to MK and stay on schedule. :)

Well, yeah. It's not a real Disney trip until you ride the monorail.

Sounds like famous last words to me...:rolleyes1

That actually would be a fun poll to pose:

What is it, what things, turn a trip into a REAL DISNEY TRIP?

Ride? Place visited? Thing done? Seen?

I've said a lot of "last famous words". Most frequent one seems to be: "I'll post that update soon..."
