The AAA $99 AP

I was wondering about this pass. I read some info on this board about it (thanks!), but had a question or 2.

Where in Orlando is the AAA office? (is it the big building on 4 north of Orlando?)

Does the one who buys them have to use them (I need to get my sister one)?

Is it a voucher?

When does it need to be purchased by?

hi the info i have in the AAA mag that they sent me says it must be purchased by 1/31/02 and redeemed by 2/28/02 which means when you buy the pass its not effective until you actually go to the park it also says that you must purchase them from a AAA office(the offer is not good a the gate) hope this info helps..kmc

It doesn't have to be bought at AAA in Orlando--just has to be bought at a AAA South office. My nephew bought his in Fort Lauderdale.

I am going to Orlando in 4 days, so does anyone know if the AAA in Orlando is I guess it would be East of Orlando, that huge building? Is there any closer to WDW? Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is an office in Kissimmee...I think that's where I got my husband's....Not sure about other's...I live fairly close to WDW and it was the closest for me. Not to sound dumb...but if you're from NC...aren't you part of AAA South? I don't know, just wondering because you could get it at a local AAA office there if you were...
Oh, and you can buy passes for others, they didn't ask me who mine was for, and my husband had no trouble redeeming it at IOA either (ie, they didn't require a AAA card there or anything)

Thanks, MsDisney. I have a FL AAA book come to think of it, it should have locations in it. I guess NC is not considered part of the 'AAA South ', because they do not sell the $99 passes there.
That would have been WAY too convienent! Thanks to all for the help.

Can someone please clarify.....I thought that you must also be a Florida resident to get the $99 annual pass from AAA South. Can anyone get it so long as it is purchased from an AAA South location? Thanks for the help.

Also....meant to ask, don't you have to be a member of AAA South? We are members of AAA Mid Atlantic & were told that we should always keep our cards with us when traveling because other AAA locations outside the "mid Atlantic" area would not be able to access our membership to provide benefits should they be needed. Thanks......

$99 AAA rate is open to all AAA members, not just South members and you dont have to live in Florida. This has been posted on other threads and i have called the Kissimmee branch and this same info was verified. If you would like to call them, here is the number 407-944-0866. their hours are 8:30-5:30 mon -fri.

Bought four of these passes at the AAA South Norcross (north Atlanta suburb) office two weeks ago. You receive vouchers which must be activated at the park upon arrival. We arrived Monday, 11/19 in Orlando around 2:30 p.m. Decided to go to the park and take care of activating the passes. Glad we opted to do this. We were the only ones at the area where this was done and it took about 30 minutes to get the four picture i.d. passes made. I would have hated to waste prime touring time waiting to get this done when entering first thing in the a.m.

We were not asked for any i.d. at the park to activate the passes. I was asked for my AAA card at the AAA office when I purchased the vouchers.

Don't forget to take advantage of the other perks with these passes--discounts in restaurants and gift shops!

Thanks goofysgal, I forgot that the AP gave the additional discounts in the parks (food) and I didn't know about the gift discount. Parking is free with these passes also, if I am not mistaken. Such a deal. And those great coasters!!!
