So i am arriving at WDW on my birthday as some of you will know and its going to be late in the day, my best option is the gift card. It can not be used for food, alcohol or spa treatments, it can be used at the 4 parks and at DTD for merchandise. So my question is what would you spend $75 on at WDW?
I am having fun shopping in my head but I have a feeling you may all have some better ideas i can pinch:rotfl:

Oh wow! I think I would probably buy myself some art from the shop at DTD, they have some lovely prints in there.

How do you get a $75 birthday gift card? Do Disney give it to you as a present?!

Wow, thats amazing.

I hope they do it in 2010 too, Em and I will both be there for our birthdays :cool1:

Thanks for the info Wayne :)

Exactly-being as though most of us already have our tickets when we get there, this is one of the options you can 'opt for'.(fastpasses being the other).
Chloe got the gift card for her birthday-we took along her passport as proof+showed her ticket+she asked for the gift card option. Her's worked out $63 as it's the price of a one day child's ticket-pre tax.
It's the theme for this year.x.

When I celebrated my birthday in January, I spent my gift card in Mouse Gear. I bought an Epcot t-shirt, a 'Birthday' photo frame (for the photo I bought that morning when we had breakfast with Lilo & Stitch), a pen and some antenna toppers ~ I thoroughly enjoyed spending the $75 on myself :)

Its one of the things that swayed us to a May trip instead of October this year. DW's Birthday while we are there.
I am sure she will enjoy spending it, we rarely buy anything in the parks/DTD unless its on offer or we get AP discount.
Will have to read T&C's she might enjoy spending it on the cruise in August if possible, anyone know?

DD will turn 4 out there this time, and will benefit from this offer :thumbsup2

Me I'd buy something from the art of disney (I do regardless) :rotfl:

Jewellery as it would be nice to have something personal with the money. I am into Pandora charms and bracelets and though Disney do not sell them, they do sell Chamilia charms with Disney related icons.

So if they sold the bracelet I would buy that, then if there was any money left over buy some Disney charms, then each year I would add to it. I think there is a store in HS that sells them.

Thanks I enjoyed spending that virtual money.

Is it just for birthdays? We go in July and arrive on our 24th Wedding Anniversary, I know the ad kept saying what will you celebrate.

Same I am out there for mine. :goodvibes

I'd buy some art or an ornament or snow globe or something. I love the Disney Traditions pieces. :)

Claire, I think I would buy something that I know I would never be able to justify spending $75 on if it was my own money. I like the idea of spending it on art as I absolutely love the Disney art but can never justify the spend to myself. Most importantly, though, make sure you buy something for 'you' - don't do as us parents tend to do and end up spending it on your kids ;)

Bev, unfortunately, only Birthdays count for the 'freebies' - and you have to show birth certifcate, as far as I'm aware, to claim your gift.

Joh,you only need your passport :thumbsup2.I enquired before we flew this month-as i really did'nt want to be taking DD8 birth certificate with us.x.

a few ideas there but yes it has got to be something special that i normally wouldnt be able to justify spending the money on. I love the artwork idea, it might take me hours to settle on something though:goodvibes
natalie, i too am sad i cant spend it on drinks, because $75 would have done me a lovely marathon round World Showcase:lmao:
will have a look at the pandora stuff, so far i have managed to resist even looking but i think it is something i would love too.
and yes not spending it on the children is going to be tough, its a mums natural instinct i think, will repeat to self "my birthday treat, my birthday treat";)
keep the ideas coming and thanks:hug:

Art for me too, probably of the Monsters Inc variety :) Happy spending!! :goodvibes
Unfortunately mine and the bf's birthdays' are 3rd and 4th August and this isn't really our preferred time of year for WDW, soo busy! Nearer the end of August seems much more bearable!

Part of mine was spent on Eve - she'd had her eye on a baby Eeyore for days ;)

I really struggled to spend it on myself to be honest but, eventually, bought myself a nice t-shirt and a Minnie oven glove :rolleyes1

I looked at art, and ornaments, but couldn't think of a 'space' when we got home :sad2:

I fancy some of those wine glasses that David and his dad bought on thier last trip, there were nice pics of them in his trippie. I will probably let the kids spend my gift card though!;)
