AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! There's so much to read and catch up on. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Of course, we're going out to dinner now ...
Hmm... were you busy with something?
I love Edward James Olmos. Though I'd refer to him as "the dude from Battlestar Galactica", thank you very much.
CLP looks nice, though the idea of paying extra to wait in such a long line kinda turns me off!
Panic doesn't really watch Battlestar (right? and she calls herself a nerd

) so when we were trying to explain to her who he was, she wasn't getting the reference, but when she saw him, she said "dude, why didn't you just say he was the dude from bladerunner" But I'd agree that he is much more the dude from Battlestar Galactica.
If we weren't going on Christmas day, I would definately have heeded others' advice and just gone in the standby line. It's a nice show, but really not worth the extra money and hassle.
I really loved the CP. I bet seeing it on Christmas did make it even better! But I agree. It doesn't make a lot of sense that you pay to have reserved seats but still have to stand for an hour. You'd think there would be a better system in place.
It made it so Christmas-y and was a great cap to the day. But that line thing really got my goat. I'm not sure what else could be done - reserved seating maybe? But it sucked.
What a fun night! I have update after update to read! WOOHOO! I love your trip reports; I love your humor!
Yum, the airport lunch of Cheetos and potato chips sounds really good! The Cheetos were probably long lost relatives of Leo the Cheeto, the one who rode along with Howard and me on our Amtrak ride. And it has to be a very nutritious lunch because it explains why I had potato chips for dinner.
Glad I could entertain you
I totally thought of our experience when I was reading your report. Maybe Leo was catching the train to try to meet up with his friends that we dropped in the hall at AKV-K.
I'll agree. Potato chips are in dinner/lunch of champions. Very nutritious.
What exactly do you do with a cheese plate? Haha, I mean, how exactly do you eat it? I know some of them have accompanying goodies, but do you eat it in the same bite? Do you just put a morsel in your mouth and savor? I'm so intrigued by them because I LOVE cheese! I just don't think I'd know what to do with it if I ever ordered it. In the meantime, I'll probably just go to Costco and get a wheel of sharp cheddar and a tub of bleu cheese crumbles to snack on ... haha.
I read the first sentence, and I was going to reply "um eat it, duh Rachel"
I don't know that I'm an expert of cheese plates - I know, I fail at being a Wisconinite - right? But this is how we do it. Usually the cheese plate has crackers, walnuts and dried fruit on it. We eat the cheese with the crackers. Depending on the size of the hunk on the plate, you either cut off a piece or just take the whole hunk. Then, in between the different cheeses, you cleanse your pallet with the nuts and dried fruit.
This has nothing to do with your question, but yesterday I had an AWSOME grilled Cheese sandwich that was cheddar and blu cheese with bacon. Mmmmm... Your snack made me remember how yummy that was
WOOHOO to Bananagrams! That's how Howard TRIED proposing!
I totally forgot about that adorable story

It was the first time I'd played it, it was really fun!
I am so going to get the tablet for pictionary on the Wii. The one we have in the house is mine since my older brother gave it to me, so it's coming with me when I get married. I love playing Pictionary online, but this would be so much fun to do at home! Or with friends! Okay, I should make a list. (1) Buy tablet for pictionary (2) Make friends. Oh wait, should it be the other way around?
From experience, it should be reversed. I have the tablet, but no friends, so it just sits there all lonely longing to be back in Disney. Wait... no that's me
Truthfully, You really need a group from pictionary, but there's an "art" studio game that comes with the tablet that kind of reminds me of this program called "KidPix" that I used when I was younger and I loved it. So i do use the tablet to play with that when I'm bored. You can like color and stuff - it's pretty fun!
(I swear I'm not
quite as pathetic as that sentence made me sound

)
Ooo, I want that beet and goat cheese salad from Sunshine Seasons! I tried the one from Wolfgang Puck Express. If I had known there was one at Sunshine Seasons, I could've had that yummy combination twice!!! And I'm sure Howard would've wanted the seared tuna thing!
Wait... they have it at WPE? I love goat cheese and beet anything. How did I not know this? (putting on my list for next time) Sunshine Seasons is my favorite counter service restaurant by far. It is so yummy and there's such variety. I just wish it wasn't near soarin' because it gets so crazy crowded in there.
The fake fireworks on the Gran Fiesta ride really are fantastic! Howard looked up this time and noticed them. I took video of it, haha. I couldn't help it. I think they're so cool and would love to have that in the ceiling of my room!
Avocado margarita sounds so enticing. However, I can't handle much alcohol at all. I might as well go make some guacamole then. It'd probably be cheaper too.
I'm totally with you. I would love those fake fireworks in my room. I'd never sleep. I'd just stare at the ceiling and be happy!
The Cava del Tequila has really good guacamole too. Mmmm I love avocados! Later in the TR you'll see a picture of it. When Panic and I went in July, we got a Margarita flight, which was like shot-glass sized margaritas. The avacado one was one of them. I wonder if you could order just that size to try it? But you're right just sticking to the guac is much cheaper. A full size margarita there is like $13! But they're so yummy!
I am absolutely ravenous, so looking at your yummy food pics is making my stomach growl. Literally. I could shove that whole piece of seabass in my mouth right now.
I'm sorry. I know how evil the Disney food pics can be when you're hungry. The other day I was going through my pictures from V&A's to post and I was looking at my cheese pizza I was eating and trying to will it to be some yummy Disney food. It didn't work
Oy, that Harry Potter line thing is just crazy. My cousins were able to get in fairly early in the morning since we dropped them off early in the morning. Even so, they said they couldn't believe the waits for some things. They did bag swap to get on Forbidden Journey so they wouldn't have to do the locker thing too. After all that stuff, they left saying that it was disappointing. They were glad to experience it because they love HP, but it was small and so not like Disney! Haha, that made me happy just because I know they'll be willing to go back to WDW in the future!
The crowds at WWOHP were awful for us. I think they're bad normally but apparently when we were there in addition to it being newish, and Christmas, and the movie recently opening, JK Rawling was on Opera earlier that week talking about it. So the crowds were bad. We all had a great time, but we kept commenting how evident it was that we really weren't in Disney.
I told DH that it had been 10 years since I'd been to IOA, and he said, okay, we can go back in 10 years
Haha, i got a kick out of the sign that says "Drunkenly Calling Old Girlfriends Hour" because it's so opposite of what Disney would put! The man in the yellow hat thing got me laughing as well!!! What an odd combination. How is Curious George a Universal thing?
Yay for Panic's review of Forbidden Journey! My cousin Danielle got dizzy from him, and my other cousin Nikki was scared during it. She said that she freaked out when she saw one Dementor and after that, she closed her eyes until she heard Harry say the spell to make them go away. Since they did bag swap, one of the girls could have gone on again with Ray, but neither of them wanted to, so he had to go on by himself!
Yes, there were a lot of "not very Disney" things at universal. Which on some level made it kind of fun - because they were more "adult" jokes, but the shtick got old.
I have no idea why Curious George was there. I wonder if they bought the rights to him when they made the movie? I don't know.
I do sort of wish that I had gone on the FJ ride, but then again, DH said he kind of got scared at points, so I'm sure I would have been leaping out of the restraints. Your cousin closing her eyes, reminds me of Panic on the Mummy
If my dad were willing, I'd so take him to Flying Fish to treat him to dinner. Those dishes look absolutely fantastic, and he loves fresh seafood! I think it's so cool that you can have a tilapia from Living with the Land!
Flying Fish is one of our favorites. The seafood is so good. And you can't get much fresher than "swimming this morning" Hopefully some day you can get him to go!
WOW, I love those Fantasyland and Haunted Mansion ride lines! I never get to HM in the morning, so I've never seen the queue so empty! I admit that I'd probably be a little scared if there weren't a lot of people around though.
Okay, I'm at the top of page 8, but it's about time I get some sleep so I'll leave off here. What a fun night! Thanks for the updates and the laughs!
I will say HM was a bit creepier than normal with no one around. It made it feel more "real" and less of ride that everyone was waiting for. If I ever go at a crowded time again, I am definitely doing the rope-drop thing. That was fantastic we got so much done in an hour.
Thanks for reading along!
