What is the 4th of July like at the parks?? Is there a special celebration during the day?? I know there are fireworks at nite. Do you see alot of red, white and blu?? :flower:

We've been there a few times during 4th of July. We've been to the parks and also stayed at the pool.

We preferred staying at the OKW pool - they have a parade and a celebration on site. A DJ and lots of games for the kids.

Best place to see the fire works is either Contemporary Parking Lot or Poly!

Have a great time.

I went with my family and extended family on the 4th and let me tell you, it was horrible . We went to the Magic Kingdom, worst mistake. I was holding my 5 year old niece's hand as we were leaving the Country Bear Jamboree, and the park was so crowded everyone pushed and there wasn't anywhere to go. I was seperated from my husband and daughter then I lost my nieces hand because everyone was pushing to get through. I thought we were going to be trampled. It was very frightening to everyone. The cast members roped off walking areas just so people could walk without getting run over. They stopped letting people in the park that day at 2:00 because they were to capacity. In 25 years I have never seen people turned away from the magic kingdom . I have never seen anything so hectic in my life. We left and went back to our resort and spent the rest of the day at the pool. Best advice find something outside of the parks to do
:sad2:

Bacause Epcot is so large, it is tolerable on the 4th, but still very crowded. You are better off avoiding the parks.............. :rolleyes1

I was there last July 4th, and I thought it was wonderful. Yes, it is very hot, but I thought the crowds were fine. I don't understand why people complain about the crowds, of *course* it is going to be crowded, and you know that when you book your trip, instead of complaining about it, put the smile on your face and know that your in the most wonderful place on earth, for a wonderful Holiday.

We went to Epcot last July, and it was really great. I would recommend the Illuminations fireworks to anyone, they were absolutely amazing. You have the regular show, then a special American finale. They put all kinds of amazing pictures on the sphere, so it is even enjoyable in the mass of people when you’re leaving.

I will tell you that to get my family's spot we 'staked our claim" at about 7:30 in the evening, (show doesn't start till 10... or 9, I can't remember, almost certain it is 10, but I could be wrong) We sat on a bench right next to the American Pavilion near the lagoon (this is also one of the spots where they have a firework cannon, and it is neat) If you have kids you should be fine as long as there is another adult. They can dance to the music being played at the Pavilion, or one of you can take them for a walk. (Being sure to leave all the belongings for each member of the party in a space so someone won't take it)

All in all it is an absolutely amazing time, and I wish I was there this year. Have a great trip.
:goodvibes
