the 4H thread: Hilton Head & Hurricane Hanna

I know all eyes are on Gustav right now but I cant help but notice the projected path of Hanna. Right now its a Tropical Storm but its projected to turn in to a hurricane and it looks like its aiming for Hilton Head mid day Friday.

Anyone else watching this storm? Anyone have reservations in this next week? I might start making alternate plans if I were you

We're on HHead now, and the Island Packet (local newspaper) has an article this morning quoting an official weather person from Charleston who indicates that HHead is in the projected path of Hanna expected to make landfall on Friday. He cautions, however, that all conditions and projections are subject to change.

I just looked at the models this morning and two of the models have Hanna going right over our house here in NC. I sure hope this isn't another Fran. That was the longest night I ever spent. I kept hearing trees falling all around us and was just waiting for one to fall on our house. I hate hurricane season.

We are supposed to leave on Sunday for a week at HHI. We are trying to decide if we should cancel and try another time or just pray that it will weaken and move back out to sea. We have invited some friends to come with us, so we have to consider them also. We have 3 children DS5, DS2 & DS8mths. I don't want to drive into a storm with them. I don't know what to do. The points will go into a holding account (we had borrowed some from next year for this trip.

Althoiugh we have no plans to go to HHI until November, we were thinking of the resort just this morning in relation to Hanna. I'll be praying for everyone that you're not impacted. Yes, I'll certainly be watching it closely and hoping for the best for everyone.

I keep thinking of HH everytime they mention hanna. I will hope and pray that the storm will weaken.

Our first trip to HHI we were told they had to evacuate once. I believe it was in 1999. I could be wrong about the year, the memory isn't what it used to be!!
