Teena, that is huge news. :goodvibes Thanks for sharing with all of us. :grouphug: Do you know what time the breakfast service begins?:surfweb:

Hope you have a chance to soak those sore feet!

This is huge and I'm so excited!!!!!

Starting this Friday, they are serving a Counter Service or Quick Service (whatever you want to call it) at Beaches & Cream every morning. They have an eggs, bacon and toast platter, a pancakes and bacon platter, an omelete and a few other items including some children platters. Prices are very reasonable and it also counts as a Quick Service/Counter Service on the meal plan. The manager there told me that the cut off is 11 AM sharp. Even if there is a line, at 11 AM sharp, no one else gets served, even if you are next in line. This is because they have to turn it completely around for the lunch service at Beaches & Cream and of course after 11 AM, anything you get there is back to being a Table Service on the meal plan.

I think this will go over wonderfully and is a fantastic addition to the Y&B Club!!! I'm really excited about it!

I love good news - that is so great it was the one thing I was thinking they were lacking! :cheer2:

That is fantastic news, looking forward to our trip in sept/oct.

Teena I'll look out for you, we check in on a Monday early evening, so fingers crossed we will see you.

Great news and great timing about the breakfast at B&C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We arrive on Saturday. Put me down for a plate of bacon and eggs!
Thanks! Dee

:goodvibesYEA...for a new YCBC thread! Thanks for transferring over. Teena, that is GOOD NEWS re: breakfast. Market Place has so limited food choices when you compare to other resorts. Our stay is coming up still....NYE at BCV..can't wait! See you real soon. BTW we will drop in next month to say a quick hi...will you be there Aug 19 thru labor day?

boy we're a chatty bunch:)I'm away a few days and not only a new thread but already 3 pages long in a day:thumbsup2

I'm leaving for my daughter's to help her transition from her present 2nd grade class to her new 2nd grade class on August 18th. I won't be back at work until August 30th. She teaches at a very low income 12 month school. I get to help her sanitize the room, desks, chairs, etc. and set up for the new class and then help with the new class as an aide for the first few days of the new school year.

I'm not sure but I think the new breakfast at Beaches & Cream starts at 7:00 AM. Will verify on Saturday when I get back to work. I was invited to drive in this morning for a "test/preview" but it's too far (50 minutes) and too early (7 AM) to go in after working 4 days in a row.

I agree with everybody that it will be well received. Nothing is permanent at Disney as you all know. If it is well received, I would imagine it will stay ... like the movies on the beach. If they don't get positive feedback about it (that's a hint for all of you to write letters after trying it) then it will most likely go away.

Think about it though ... there is nothing like this over at Boardwalk either so I would imagine Boardwalk people on the food plan that want to use a quick service for breakfast will all be coming over too! The whole Epcot Resort area needed something like this ... that's why I'm so excited about it.

I think I might have just replied to you in the CL thread, but here it is again. I posted this on the old BC/YC thread as well a few days ago:

The BC CL lounge is on the small side, but the staff members were great and despite the lines, they did an excellent job of keeping food stocked.

Mornings there were cinnamon rolls, mini muffins, bagels, toast, coffee (Nescafe machine with numerous choices) juices, cereals, milk, melon, apples, oranges, and bananas.

Mid day was sodas or coffee, kettle chips and yogurt covered pretzels.

Evening appetizers varied - the days we were there I saw chicken skewers, bacon wrapped scallops, spring rolls, crab rangoons and duck quesadillas. Usually 2 white wines, 2 reds & a white zinfandel.

We only went for cordials and desserts once - there were a few types of layered dessert parfaits in little plastic cups, and a few liqueurs - I remember Amarula and Grand Marnier but there were 1 or 2 others. There were some folks there that night that had checked in late and asking for wine and they were accomodated graciously by the staff.

On a couple of occasions the staff offered my kids Nesquik chocolate milk. I also saw people grabbing sodas from the console underneath the juices in the morning, and finally one day a child was asking for the gluten free waffles his dad had requested. So I know that it's possible to ask for things that aren't out.

And just to confirm, no, I did not see Krispy Kremes in the AM, but my kids LOVED the cinnamon rolls.

Thanks a bunch! Bummer about the Krispy Kremes, but it's definitely not a deal breaker for us. I'm just looking forward to being able to grab a cold drink when we get back from the park/pool, etc!

Wow that is great! One thing that has always sort of bothered me about deluxe resorts is the lack of counter service options...this would definitely put the Beach Club 1 notch ahead in my book when choosing a deluxe resort!

Could anyone tell me if I have a good chance of receiving a room with a daybed, on the club level. It will be 3 adults and I have requested one, but I am really hoping not to have to share a bed with my mom. Not fun.

If you booked a waterview, there are very very few CL waterview with a daybed. There are more standard views CL rooms with a daybed but families with 5 get them first obviously. It all will depend on our numbers and if we can meet the needs of the families of five during your stay. The room assignor will definitely do her best to meet your needs but it will all depend on how many families of five are booked during your stay. They automatically get those rooms.

Teena, thanks for the guess on opening time for B&C breakfast.

I remember being able to pick up breakfast at B&C some years ago but as I recall it was just cold things...cereal,, muffins, etc.. This is such a nice enhancement I think.:thumbsup2

The B&C bkfst is a great idea...I think it will be well recieved! Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

OMG!! This is the best news I have heard since my wife agreed to marry me!! LOL

This was the only downfall, well other than the bus service, to our upcoming trip to the Beach Club in December. We are so used to getting hot food for breakfast like eggs and sausage. My mom will be very happy, and so am I. We were actually thinking of switching resort because of the lack of this for breakfast.

I just finished reading the 253 pages of the last thread. What a lot of great information! Even after reading all theose pages I still have a couple of questions.
My DH and my 4 kids(DS15, DD13, DD9, DS7) and I are planning our first trip to the BC in Aug 2010. We will need to get two standard rooms.

1) How soon should we book are rooms? I've read some people have not been able to get standard rooms because the BC was booked.

2) We will need connecting rooms. Would it be ok to put in another request, like " ground floor near epcot walkway please" or would that be asking too much?

We can't wait to stay at the BC. Everyone on the boards makes it sound so wonderful!
Thanks!

Although connecting rooms are only a request. If you need it for medical purposes I would definitely make the request when booking your rooms. You can also request a specific location if you like at that time. Just request your priority first, like if you want the connecting room priority over the location note that. I would also suggest like with all Disney resort reservations to do it as early as possible. Booking right now, which is a year in advance is not too early in my opinion. You can always cancel or modify your reservations if you have to in the future before your trip. Cancellation without penalty time depends on if you book room only or a package. Room only is 5 days before your trip, package is 45 days, if I remember correctly. :)

Make your reservation as soon as possible. Then if a "deal" comes up later, you can modify/switch it to the "deal". Since you are booking two rooms on one reservation and the second room is for your minor children, you will definitely get connecting rooms, no worries. "Ground floor near epcot walkway please" would be a perfect request. Since you have to get connecting rooms, you might not get your location requests met since that limits us greatly as to where the rooms will be. Remember, we would have to have two connecting rooms that are open for check-ins on the day you check-in in the location you want. Yes, there will be two connecting rooms for you but will they be where you want them? We will try obviously but it's all a numbers game. Two connecting rooms open on your check-in day on the ground floor near Epcot might not be available. Rest assured though that the room assignors will try!

Thank you for the information.
I will try and book our reservations ASAP!
I 'm sure any room at the beach club will be wonderful!

Thanks...we are booked in a standard, or garden, view so I'm glad there are more daybeds in that category. I know it is only a request but hopefully I will get it!
