The 2008 American Idol Thread.....

Of the top 24, there are only a few that got more coverage than the others. Carly, David A, Amanda, Syesha(not as much off set, but we heard all her auditions) There are quite a few I never even heard sing, like Jason C.,Luke, Jason Y.,Garrett, Kristy, Kady, Alexandrea, and Alaina.

We did see Kady and Alaina at their original auditions.

Someone let me know if I'm wrong but yes, tonight it's all live and we get to vote - then tomorrow the girls sing and we get to vote then on Thursday 4 go home - 2 guys and 2 girls, right or is it 1 guy and 1 girl???

I don't know if tonight is live or if Thursdays results show is live. I don't think any of the performance nights are/or have to be live. But I could be wrong.

That makes a lot fo sense about not getting clearance to air certain songs. Maybe the producers should just compile a big "master list" of songs that the contestants can choose from. I'm sure plenty of labels/artists would clear their work.

I think they've already recorded tonight's show, as well as tomorrow, but then the Thursday results show will be live.

ETA: I listen to Ryan on his radio show, and he just said that they did tonight's show on Saturday and tomorrow's show on Sunday, and then Thursday will be live.

Just read that this week's theme is "60's music" and it's the first time that AI has done a theme week for the semifinals. Interesting!!

Oooh, that's a toughy! I think I'm gonna boot out AI, only because all that really matters is who goes home, and I can always just check that online after the show airs. If I miss one episode of Survivor or Apprentice, though, I'd be way out of the loop!

I don't think you have a conflict. Survivor iso n at 8:00pm EST. AI and Lost are on at 9:00pm. I can't speak for Apprentice.

Oh, Idol is on at 9 on Thursday? I think that will work then. But I'm just now remembering Apprentice comes on at 9, also . . . I was thinking all of those shows came on at 8. OK, so now I don't have a conflict - I'll just record Apprentice and watch AI live or vice versa. But it looks like robinrs may have a dilemma, with 3 shows on at once!

I'm not sure I love that these early rounds are themed. I liked that these initial rounds let you get to know who the singer "was" in terms of their style.

This is what I think, too. I liked the variety of songs that were chosen during these rounds in previous seasons.

I agree with Simon and Randy that the end fell apart with David Hernandez. I don't know that I loke the tone of his voice...

I'm not even crazy about themes during the final 12, now they are extending them out even longer. Let's see if they make up some original ones this year!

David was pretty good, his vocals were better than I expected.
