We leave tomorrow morning and I can't wait to see just how well I'm going to like this resort! Stayed at SOG last year, so it's our 1st time in a Disney owned resort.

I just want to thank everyone for all the great info here... you've been a HUGE help!!!!!!!

Have a great time. Be sure to get the new refillable mug. With the summer heat, you'll need all the fluids you can get.

We are traveling with a 3.5yr old and 20 month. Should we request building 4 (closest to the bus station) or building 5 (close to the pool)? Any opinions on which of the buildings on the resort is a good location? Looking at the map, I'm thinking either 4, 5, or 6. I don't want to be too far away from the bus stop. Can I call to make building requests? Or, do we have to wait until arrival?

I would request building 2, we were right by the food and pool and the playground, PERFECT location, 1 minute walk to all 3!!!!

Hi guys!!
So excited to be staying at POFQ this October:goodvibes

I have been looking over the map, and need help deciding on which building I would like to "request" when we check in.
I will be traveling with my DH, DD 2 1/2, and my parents. which is the reason I chose this resort to begin with! (cute and compact!!):cutie:

I have a reservation for : king bed (paid extra), and a request for connecting rooms (so I can try to get my toddler to sleep while we are in my parents room)

I was thinking building 5, on the Beinget courtyard side, not the pool side. I do want to be close to the pool, but not too close due to daytime naptimes for DD. And far away from any parking lot/bus stations (my mom will freak out!)

what do you guys think. I do understand that this will just be a request, but wanted some opinions. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!!
thanks!!

:wave2: You will love, love POFQ! We stayed for the first time year before last. It is now one of our favorite resorts, even over some of the Deluxes. We stayed in Building 2, which is directly across the pool from building 5. Both those building are good places, and for more quiet you should be okay with the courtyard side.

The thing about POFQ that is not like other resorts is that just like everyone says, it is very compact. You don't really appreciate how much until you arrive, but literally everything is a comfortable walking distance away. Good luck, I hope you get your requests!:wizard:

IS the food court close to the pool? We have only stayed at the values and it has become our tradition to grab lunch and head out to the pool area to eat it, so hope you can do this at POFQ.

It is quite literally less than a one minute walk from the doors of the food court to the pool deck. You'd walk down a pretty coblestone path dotted with statues of whimsical Jazz-inspired gators, and then you're at the pool.

are their tabels to sit and eat at?:goodvibes
Not by the pool I don't think:confused3 I just remember them outside the food court. You will have such a great time we stayed in building 2 right across from the pool and it was fine not to loud at all. You will have so much fun:goodvibes

There are a few tables near the pool not too far from Mardi Grogs (the bar near the pool), and some more tables just outside the food court.

ETA - Here is a photo I took at POFQ this past April of some of the tables near the main pool and right next to the kiddie pool.

Does anyone know if the POFQ food court or gift shop sells sparkling juice or some cheapie wine? I was making a gift basket surprise but now they don't allow food to be delivered. So I will have the cute glasses in mine, but no drink to put in it!
I work at the gift shop, and we sell a few kinds of wine, the cheapest is about $18. No sparkling juice though.

I have another question. I was just listening to last week's podcast :coffee: and they mentioned Poly having hookups for Wiis, DVD players, etc. Does anybody know if POFQ has the DVD hookup on their TVs? Thanks~!!!

just wanted to say that I'm leaving for POFQ in 35 days and have never stayed there before! I'm so excited! and I'm also getting married on that trip and have a lot of friends and family coming to stay at POFQ so I hope they all love it as well.

I chose this resort BECAUSE it's smaller and my father and soon to be mother in law have bad backs and can't do a lot of walking (I think we need to rent them a wheelchair or scooter either way though) and I heard it's one of the more romantic moderate resorts (my fiance and I are going to take a carriage ride the night before our wedding, but he doesn't know it yet! ;) )

yay! I can't wait!!! :yay:  :thumbsup2 :dance3:

Is their a place where my dad can get a six pack? he likes to have a few beers at night but dosent want to sit in the lounge. Do they have beer to go? On the other hand my DH and I would like to sit in the lounge and have a drink or 2 or 5:lmao:How is the lounge?

Can you request a building close to the food court and main building? I was in building 1 and while it was not a long walk for me I wonder if someone who has back problems might be tired after a day in the parks. I know that the night that I carried my DGD back from the MK after she fell asleep I though that I would collapse by the time I got to our room.

I would definitely rent and ECV for them at the parks, there is a lot of walking.

POFQ is lovely, the grounds are well manicured, you can hear music throughout most of the resort, there are benches to sit and enjoy. I liked to go for coffee early while the rest of my family was still sleeping and found that the resort is peaceful and relaxing. I wish that we had made time for the carriage ride, and I would suggest that you take the boat back from DTD one evening. It was so pretty.
