The “How Many Days” Debate

We are doing a “Paris” trip in June for 12 days (plus one day travel each end). We’ll spend the first part doing actual Paris and day trips from the city. The second part is Disneyland Paris.

We can stay at DLP Thursday-Monday (4 nights, 5 days) or Friday-Monday (3 nights, 4 days). I know it’s the weekend, but I’m limiting the number of hotel changes and I’m trying to build in a contingency where it’s at the end of the trip so IF we have to cancel, we’ll still get a refund (the 7 day zen booking).

As of now, Monday would be the day we need to get a Covid test for return and transfer to the hotel near the airport. I know we can leave our luggage at the DLP hotel, but we still won’t be able to dedicate the whole day.

We could probably spend a sizable chunk of our “arrival” day (Thursday or Friday) at the parks.

I’m concerned about the opening of Marvel in “summer 2022” and how that will affect crowds.

We are generally an open to close couple (no kids). For context, we did Magic Kingdom on a Friday during spring break and got on 19 different attractions without Genie+ or any skip-the-line passes.

So, the question is- how many days? If Friday-Monday, two full days plus half days on arrival/leaving; giving an extra day in Paris. Or Thursday-Monday for three full days plus half days on arrival/leaving; taking an extra day from Paris.

Which weekend? 5-6 June is Ascension. It is quite common to make this a long weekend break throughout Europe. The other weekends should be 'reasonable'.

Are you ride people, show people?

I try to be a little discrete on days (call it paranoia), but I think I might as well share- the DLP dates would be 16-20 or 17-20. I did see that ~June 6 would be a holiday for France, and I believe summer holidays for schools in France start in July? (Though this would vary with other countries.)

ETA: Oh, and I’m a coaster nut, but we enjoy shows, too, especially if they feature #1 Donald Duck.

With 2 full days and 2 half days, you should be able to do most/all judging by that you are a couple used to open to close in Magic Kingdom. With the EMH it's easy to do the big headliners. The extra day will give you a chance to slow down and repeat rides/shows. If you want to do table services, the extra day will come in handy.

I wouldn't count on Avengers Campus to be open. I am guessing that it will be late summer / September. September is a quiet month. Normally there is a boost at the end due to the Run Weekend, but that is (probably) cancelled. So it would make more sense for the Avengers Campus to open when they need more visitors.

I would take an Uber or one train stop to the mall to get your test done at the pharmacie.

For shows:
Park:
- Lion King - Rhythm of the Pridelands
- 30th anniversary Shine Brighter

Studios:
- Disney Jr - Dream Factory
- Mickey and the Magician.

All are definitely worth visiting, but Shine Brighter is the only one which has Donald in it. And he's in the parade of course.

Ah, thank you! This is a trove of information! Will definitely check out Shine Brighter.

I’m personally hoping for Avengers Campus to be after we go, if only because that’s more stuff I would feel I need to cram in!
