The “You are obsessed w/ the DIS boards…Wow, did you learn that on DIS?” Trip Report

The kids LOVED Mickey's ToonTown. They played in Donald's boat and got soaked. DD played in the toddler playground. We toured Mickey's house. DS really got a kick out of that. Then we went to see Mickey. Only about a 5 minute wait and we were in to get our picture taken with Mickey. DD was SOOOOO cute. She started jumping up and down the moment she saw him. It was precious. We had the photopass photographer take a picture of all of us - that's one that I'm buying.

After Mickey's house we headed for lunch. We went back to Tomorrowland because it was the closest food court. Since we were staying onsite we had also purchased the dining plan. Hands down the best purchase we made. I will never take a trip without the dining plan again. The best part about it is you could pick whatever you wanted and didn't have to worry about price. Actually DH made a game out of it and tried to order the most expensive thing everytime. I was a little worried about DD. She's 2 and is going through an independent stage and has to have her own of everything. But, 2 years olds aren't real people at Disney and meal sharing was the name of the game. Luckily most of the counter service restaurants would give me an extra kid's Mickey plate and I was able to split meals and still make her believe she had her own. I was impressed with the choices for the kids meals - much healthier choices than I remember from a few years ago. Now the kids get the main course (usually chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, pizza, etc) and then a choice of 2 sides (applesauce, grapes, carrots, fries, or a cookie). Beverages to choose from were white or chocolate milk, juice, or a small bottle of water.

With lunch over we decided to walk over to Adventureland. DH wanted to go on Pirates of the Carribean. We were intentionally skipping Fantasyland for now - 1) because DD was falling asleep and 2) it was evening magic hours at MK and we figured we have plenty of time later that night to hit all of those rides.

DD fell asleep on the walk over. Take a look at this (It's one of my favorite pictures):

138394katie_asleep.JPG

We actually took the long way and found the haunted house first. DS wanted to go on it. AFter the Buzz Lightyear fiasco earlier I didn't think it was such a good idea but DH was game. So, off they went and actually came out smiling. The lines were nonexistent so DS had to take me on next. I LOVE the Haunted House. I really hope they don't wreck it when it is refurbished this summer.

Next up - Pirates. This turned out to be DS's FAVORITE ride in MK. He went on it at least 5 times. (Did I mention there were no lines - the crowd levels were great!) They have added Jack Sparrow to the ride - and he looks exactly like Johnny Depp....it's scary.

I'll have to leave you here for tonight (DH wants the computer :) )

So - in the next post we'll finish up Day 2 with our dinner at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and his friends and Extra Magic Hours. Is it wise to keep the kids up until midnight on the first night? Then it's off to MGM where DH and I learn that we like that park much better without kids :)

Sounds like you had quite the beginning to the day but it looks like everything started to improve once you left Tomorrowland.

That's great that your son was not afraid of the Haunted Mansion. I was worried for you after reading about his reaction on Buzz.

Your kids reaction to Mickey sound really cute. I remember how excited I was when I meet the characters for the first time as a child. I am still a child at heart though so I will probably be just as excited to meet them again this summer.

You really lucked out with the low crowds. I bet that made the park touring much more enjoyable.

Can't wait for the next update!

When we took DGS at age 3, we spent a lot of time in Toon Town. It was a nice low-key, non scary place to play! (Yeah, all that money for a fancy playground!) He got braver as time went on, but he is still not a thrill rider at 8. His favorite thing was Disney transportation! He loved the busses, boats, trains, and especially the monorail! And he STILL loves the people-mover! Hope it gets better for all of you!

When I first started reading day two I thought, uh-oh, but it looks like it is turning into a great day!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about the CP. We are going for breakfast in October.

Can't wait to hear more!popcorn::

Love your report so far...our two DS will be 4 and 2 when we go this fall, so I am loving reading about your experiences and crisis-prevention tips!

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Now - back to our story.

Last time we had just finished riding Pirates - so far the favorite of DS. For those of you reading with a 2 yr old. We did take DD on twice. The first time she hid her head under her blanket and refused to look at anything until we got to the puppy at the end (you know the one outside of the jail). She liked that so the next time I got her to open her eyes a few times. Now she says she likes it but I'm pretty sure it's because DS keeps talking about it - he's a god to her :goodvibes

I had made an ADR at CP for this night - just happened to be Mother's Day. We checked in a little early but there were still a LOT of people waiting. This is where I had to remind DH that this was not exactly a reservation - only a priority seating request and we still had to wait. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes which is kind of a pain with a 4 & 2 yr old. But once we did get in it was worth the wait!

The thing I liked the most about CP is it is a buffet - that means no waiting for your food. A VERY important thing when you already have 2 crabby kids. At least they were crabby until they saw characters coming around and then the smiles came out. DD especially liked this dinner. I was a little worried because we really don't watch a lot of Pooh but that didn't seem to matter.

First up was Piglet - he signed autographs and we got a picture,
138394katiepooh.JPG

then DS and I were off to the buffet. I was impressed with the choices of food - especially for the kids - they had the standard mac & cheese and chicken strips. I also found bread & pb&j. I had 2 happy campers (they will eat pb&j 7 times a week if I'd let them :rotfl2: )

For DH and I there was chicken, prime rib, a full salad bar, & lots of other choices that I honestly can say I don't remember. :confused3 Sorry about that - we were too involved in the characters :lmao:

Besides Piglet, Eyeore (DH favorite), Tigger, and Pooh show up.
138394cptigger.JPG

They also do a little song and dance every 1/2 hour. The cutest DD moment was when Pooh was one table away - the music started for them to start dancing. So, off went Pooh for his dance. DD knew he was coming to her next and started yelling after him "Pooooooh, come back" "Poooooohhhhh" He did come back, right after the song but she was pretty funny yelling after him.

I would definetly recommend CP - it was a great location, good service, I liked the food (at least what I remember of it) and the character experience was fun. Also, since we were on the dining plan - it was free. Ok, not exactly free as we had already paid for it, but we didn't have the guilt of looking at the check. All we did was sign. Have I mentioned I LOVED the dining plan?

After CP we decided to head to fantasyland - we had been saving that portion of the park to wait until it cleared out a little.

First we headed to It's a Small World. I LOVE Small World. DD LOVED Small World. DS HATED Small World. DH just tolerates it because he knows I like it. But if you have a 2yr old who likes dolls you will have the best experience. DD oohed and pointed at everything. She danced to the song and by the end was singing along.

On the other side of me was DS - remember - he's 4. All I heard from him was "This is a girl ride. Why do I have to ride a girl ride. How long is this. Can we get off now"

For those of you with experience with Small World you know that it is rare that the ride doesn't get backed up, meaning you usually get stuck in one of the last rooms while the boats in front of you are unloaded. This has actually become a running joke with DH and I because he has yet to ride it where he hasn't spent an extra 5 minutes in the last room. DS was NOT happy to be stopped. He wasn't obnoxious about it - rather sat and sulked. It was kind of funny though.

Next we headed to Peter Pan - Only had to wait about 5 minutes. Seriously - the lines were unbelievably short. Early to Mid-may is a great time to go. Although if the secret gets out it probably won't be such a good time anymore :) Oh, well. Both kids LOVED Peter Pan. They have gotten into watching the movie lately and really, really liked this ride. In fact they are still talking about it.

We also rode Winnie The Pooh - DS liked boucing like Tigger - and watched Philharmagic. DS really like it but DD wouldn't wear the 3D glasses.

We ended up in Ariel's grotto at about 6:45 - the line to see Ariel closed at 7:00. We let the kids play for a few minutes and were the last ones in line to see Ariel. The line moved quickly and we spent some time talking with a really nice CM who gave us some tips on MGM - where we were going the next day.

The Little Mermaid is another favorite movie currently so they were very excited to meet Ariel and they were surprised that she talked to them. In fact they weren't quite sure what to do - none of the other characters they had met so far actually talked. Here's my next tip - just stumbled on this one - if you are last in line for Ariel you get to spend a few extra minutes all by yourself. We got some great pictures. The photopass photographer actually got some really cute ones.

It was extra magic hours so we headed to get our wrist bands and then rerode a few things. We let the kids play at Pooh's playground while we waited for the fireworks. Another tip - if you have little ones DON'T watch the fireworks from behind the castle - you are TOOOOO close. I hadn't been to see the fireworks at MK for a long time and I really should have researched the best place to watch them. We lasted until the music turned a little scary and then it got too loud for the kids. We jumped in the stroller and headed to Tomorrowland to get away a little.

During Extra Magic Hours we rode the Tommorrowland grand prix race track. Haven't done that one is at least 15 years - the line is always way to long. This time we only waited about 5 mintues. Both kids got to steer - that's fun with a 2 yr old - she tends to steer the way she is looking. A VERY jerky ride but hilarious.

We also did the jungle cruise where DS had the best line of the night. As we were pulling away from the dock the CM said "Turn around and wave good by to the people. You'll never see them again" DS turned to me and said. "Mommy, have you ridden this ride before? Aren't we coming back? She said we'll never see them again. Mommy - WHERE ARE WE GOING???" Very funny. Needless to say DD/DS did NOT like the jungle cruise - I think it was because it was night and it looked too real. In the day time you can tell that the plastic hippo is, well, a plastic hippo. At night the plastic hippo looks just a little more realistic. Not a lot mind you, but enough to fool a 4 & 2 yr old.

The favorite ride of the night was Aladdin's magic carpet. Somehow DS figured out he could move us in line of the camel that spits. Both DH and I got it right in the ear. Ugh. DS thought he was very smart.

We stopped for a snack (yay snack credits!!!) in front of the castle. DD had great fun naming the color as the lights on the castle changed.

So, finally, after 12 hours in MK (yes, we stayed the entire time, it was easier to take a break in the shade with a snack than go all the way back to the hotel), we headed for the bus stop. Yep, both kids made it 12 hours. Oh, there were temper tantrums, there were moments that we thought we were crazy for taking this trip, but overall it was a great day! Both kids fell asleep on the bus.

Next time - Day 3 - MGM Answer's to the questions - Did we break our children by pushing 12 hrs on the first day? Why do DH and I enjoy this park MUCH more without children??? And the WORST restaurant experience of our trip!!!!

Looking forward to more of this trip - thanks for the tip on the fireworks. I guess I need to research a good location that won't be too loud. I'm sure my DD will love Small World also!

Here we go....

After our 12 hour marathon in the Magic Kingdom we decided we'd better let the kids sleep in. So we all slept late and ate breakfast at All Star Music before we headed out to MGM.

Breakfast was Mickey Waffles. They were large so we split 2 between the 4 of us.

Before we left we took our "safety picture"
138394mgm1.JPG

We got to MGM around 11. Since I hadn't done this park with children before I had done some extra planning. Everything I had read said to head right for The Little Mermaid so that's where we headed. We were in luck and a show was only 5 minutes from starting. This is a live show and the kids really liked it. After yesterday's experience meeting Ariel they really got into it. BTW - I don't know how many Ariel's they actually have working for them but - wow - they all look exactly alike. Ok, ok - besides the red wing and green fins. DH was convinced it was the same girl who we had met the day before. This is where the theme of our trip starts up - We saw Ariel and heard the Little Mermaid songs more than anything else. It's like Ariel was following us around. If I have to hear "Part of your World" again I think I'll go slightly mad.

After The Little Mermaid we went right across the street to Playhouse Disney Live which was just starting a show. Excellent!! DD really liked the show - she danced with Bear and laughed at Jo jo. DS wasn't too impressed. Partly because he doesn't watch many of the Playhouse Disney shows anymore and partly because he was in a mood. For those of you with 4 yr old boys you know what I mean.

After Playhouse Disney we headed over to Star Wars. The line was a little long so DH got fast passes and we headed to Muppets 3D in the meantime. This was was OK for the kids. DH and I realized they don't know who the muppets are. I didn't even think about that. So while DH and I LOVE this one the kids didn't really get it.

So far DS hadn't done anything he really enjoyed so he was starting to get crabby. Luckily the fast pass time for Star Wars came and they headed over. DS had been waiting for this one. He is a HUGE Star Wars fan. Luckily he is very tall for his age - DH is 6'7" and DS is a mini DH - they are exactly alike. So DS met the hight requirement for just about everything. DD and I found some shade to wait. DD loves to color and "write" with a pen so she spent the time coloring in her autograph book. It's a good thing that we will be seeing Mickey again on this trip because she colored over the signatiure before I caught her. Oops.

They came out of the ride but we didn't see them for awhile because the ride exits into the Star Wars store. I lost track of how long DS looked in that store. They have every Star Wars toy imaginable.

Just outside they have some landspeeders that you can sit on - DS thought that was really cool and gave his sister a ride:

138394speeder.JPG

Just about then the parade was coming through - I've never seen the MGM parade. We were forced into it this time because we got caught. A very nice CM allowed our stroller to get right up front though and the kids had a front row view.

This is a cool parade - it's all cars that have been modified to look like the theme of the characters in them. For example - Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia ride in - of course - a landspeeder -

138394luke.JPG

Then came the Power Rangers - a favorite with DS. He's a huge Red Power Ranger fan. Here's another Tip - Let the kid's know that it's OK to shake hands. This was our first parade experience and I hadn't told DS that the characters may come close enough for him to shake hands. The characters will only go up to kids with their hands out - probably so they don't scare anyone. Well, DS is a little timid and I didn't prepare him. The poor kid was really upset when the Red Power Ranger went right by him to the kid next to us:

138394power.JPG

DS was just about out of the stroller and running after him before I caught him. AFter that he had his hand out every time.

The parade ended with - of course - Mickey!!!

138394mgmmickey.JPG

We had some time to waste before our ADR at Mama Melrose's and DD had fallen asleep. This was when we realized - there's not a heck of a lot to do at this park with a 4 and 2 yr old. Even though DS is tall enough to ride Tower of Terror or Rockin Roller coaster we weren't planning to let him ride those. TOT is way tooooo scary for him - heck I get scared on that ride.

We headed to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. DS liked this but, as parents, we didn't. First, you couldn't take the stroller in so one of us was stuck outside with a sleeping toddler. That's ok - it's expected. The problem we had was this is there were sooooo many kids in the playground you couldn't keep track of your child. The crawl paths and slides have hidden exits. DS would go up one way and I'd turn around and he would be in a completely different area. I didn't like it.

We had an ADR at Mama Melrose's for the Fantasmic Dinner package. Since DD was sleeping I suggested that I go over to the restaurant and find out how long the wait was. Since we had waited a long time the night before we didn't want to do that again - DS was already crabby. I went to the restaurant to ask but the CM misunderstood and checked us in. Then when I said that my DH and DS would be coming in about 10 minutes she was really mad at me. She said "Don't you know I can't check you in unless you entire party is here. Now I did all this work and I have to take it all out." Now come on - it's like 3 clicks on a screen. Plus I hadn't really wanted to check in and I had tried to stop her. This REALLY annoyed me. But, I very nicely said I would be right back and went to get DH.

So, 5 minutes later, the crabby CM had to check us in...again. I had a bad feeling about this place. We were seated rather quickly and then we waited. Finally our waitress showed up. When she found out we were on the dining plan she was crabby about that too. I wanted to get the kids special drinks and I got a lecture on how they weren't covered on the plan. Yep - that's ok, we'll pay for them. Ugh. Overall - not a good experience. It's not themed well enough for younger kids and we were not overly impressed with the food. We won't be going back there but you live and learn I guess. We did get our priority seating for Fantasmic though.

After dinner we had more time to waste - we had wanted to see the new stunt show but had missed all of the shows for the day. The only thing we still really wanted to do was the Great Movie Ride. The line for this was a little longer but most of the wait was in the area where the movies are playing which kept DS interested. DD fell asleep in line and we decided this was a good thing.

DS liked most of the ride - he just got tired of it at the end. The very last room you watch movie clips - very fun as an adult because you know all of the movies. DS could have skipped that part. But it is a really long ride and DS sat really well for the rest of it.

Then we strolled through the shops - I love the shops at MGM. They are so fun to look in - way more fun if you don't have kids with you. We did hit the Power Ranger Store (this one is over by the Honey I shrunk the kids playground) and the princess store and let each kid pick out something. DS got a power ranger toy and DD got a Tinkerbell purse with a cell phone and lip gloss. We thought this would entertain them during the wait for Fantasmic.

Finally it was time to get a seat for Fantasmic. DH headed for snacks (Yay, snack credits!!!) DD and DS amused themselves with their lightup spinners that had come in their gift baskets and their new toys. We did the wave about 50 times.

DH and I talked about our day - it wasn't nearly as fun as the Magic Kingdom. We were wondering if it was worth staying for Fantasmic but, since we were already there we stuck it out. And as soon as it started were immediately glad that we did. DH and I have seen Fantasmic before and it is one of our favorite shows. This was, hands down, the kids FAVORITE fireworks show they saw. It's got everything - Mickey, princesses, fireworks, live actors, movies shown on water (that's soooo cool). The first time Snow White came accross on her boat DD squealed in my arms she was sooooo excited.

That's what made the day - the expressions on their faces during this show.

As we were leaving DH and I agreed - it's those little moments that make magic of Disney World. The majority of the day pretty much stunk but the little moments like DS riding Star Wars and DD seeing real princesses made the whole day. Those are the special memories that will stay forever. I'm hoping the memories of the temper tantrums fad quickly :rotfl:

And so the day ended and we headed back to ASMu.

On Day 4 - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's!!!! We go to Downtown Disney where DS explores the biggest toystore he's ever seen!! And we venture back to MGM (gluttons for punishment I know) for dinner at the Sci-Fi.

Great installment. How dare you make a CM do "work"! :rotfl:

We were debating on weather to go to MGM with our DD, and after reading your report and some others and I think we are going to skip it. She will only be 17 months at the time.

Can't wait for the next day! :thumbsup2

Another good report..

I was thinking the same thing about MGM for dd - I think we will do Playhouse Disney, Ariel, Beauty & Beast show and that may be it... I love the ToT and RnR but don't think I'll make it this time (unless Dh wants to do swap)

I love your report... sounds quite a bit like stuff my family would say/do/think... DS thought pretty much the same about PHD but dealt w/ it because of his sister... baby didn't care 1 way last year... this year he's going to love it...

Tanya

Hi to everyone once again - glad to see you are enjoying our trip.

We're now up to Day 4 - this happened to be a Tuesday. Since we had now spent 2 very intensive days in the park my plan for today was to take it easy.

To start the morning off I had an ADR for a 9:10 breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I had never been to Chef Mickey's but had always wanted to. During my planning I was wondering what the best way to get to the Contemporary from ASMu and how long it would take us. Of course - who would I ask - the friendly DISer's on the transportation board. I got a few suggestions and the consensus was to leave at least 1 hour with the buses in the morning. The most recommended route (that wasn't a taxi) was to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then walk to CR.

We planned to leave the room at 8:00 - and we actually made it out the door. I was shocked but breakfast with Mickey was a big motivator. We headed for the bus stop and I was ready to head for a taxi if the line was long. There was only 1 other family in line and the bus pulled up as we walked up. What luck!!! The very nice family who shared our bus was headed to the Poly for breakfast - we'll have to try that next time.

Anyway we ended up with plenty of time. I did confirm with a CM when we got off of the bus that walking was the best plan. The monorail will take you to the CR but it's the last stop on the route so walking actually is the fastest way. It was a nice walk - not too long and DH and I decided that CR might be a nice place to stay next time.

Another nice CM (they are all so happy) pointed us in the direction of Chef Mickey's when we reached the lobby. We checked in at the restaurant and were sent to get our picture taken. DH happened to be wearing a Chicago Bears shirt that day (he's orignally from Illinois and is a HUGE Bears fan.) and got into a long discussion with the photographer CM about football. In the meantime DS was getting crabbier and crabbier. Not a good sign. By the time we were all assembled behind the plate DS was NOT going to smile. I had a feeling that a retake was in our future.

15 minutes and 1 meltdown later we were seated at our table. And who showed up but...Pluto. That put a smile back on DS's face.

138394cmpluto.JPG

By the way - I love how Pluto signs the autograph book - balancing it on his nose. How many hours do you think the CM's have to practice in order to do that. Just the stuff I think about when I see the characters ;)

I headed for the buffet to grab food for 2 very hungrey kids - wow - what a buffet. Name a breakfast food and it was there. The kids loaded up on mickey waffles, pancakes, fruit loops, bananas, scrambled eggs, etc. Lots of good stuff!

By the time I got back Goofy stopped by to see us. He played around with the kids and made DS stand on a chair for his picture.
138394cmgoofy.JPG

Then it was the favorite - Mickey!!!

138394cmmickey.JPG

I love character meals!! Next Donald stopped by - we hadn't seen him yet. He is one of DH's favorites!
138394cmdonald.JPG

So all that good food (which DH and I really enjoyed) and what did my kids eat?? Donuts - the plate of mickey waffles went untouched in favor of donuts. Here's DS posing with his breakfast:
138394cmjoey.JPG

By this time the CM had come over with our picture that was taken earlier - yep a retake. Not so much for DS but the picture of me was beyond bad. Ugh.

DD was eagerly awaiting her favorite - Minnie. She could see her coming and patiently waited. Well, if you count yelling "Minnie, come here" being patient I guess. Finally she had her moment and she was very pleased. Actually this was the only character that DS hugged. (DH thought that was hilarious)

138394cmminnie.JPG

Our breakfast over we had a quick retake done and they turned out much better. I'd post that one but DH made me swear when I started this TR that I would not post any pictures of him. Party pooper. Anyway - our next stop for the day was going to be DTD. We decided to ride the monorail and take a bus from one of the other resorts.

Since I'd never walked through the Poly we got off of the monorail there and walked through the resort to the bus stop. DH and I now changed our minds from staying at CR next time to staying at the Poly - i loved the look of it. Now I know why it is so highly talked about on these boards.

We jumped on the DTD bus and headed to do some shopping. Now, DH and I really should have thought about this a bit more. For some reason we thought shopping would be fun. Why, I don't know. It's not fun to take the kids shopping at the mall at home...so, why would we think this would be different? But - we didn't think about that - surely shopping at Disney would be fun - there are so many fun things to buy.

We hit the World of Disney store first - this is my favorite store. I love looking here. Well, I love looking WITHOUT kids. With kids all I did was follow DD around the princess section while she picked up every thing in the store. That was fun for about 5 minutes. I did get to see the Bibbidi bobbidi botique. We are so doing that next time. DD wasn't old enough this year but the kids coming out of there were sooooooo cute!!! Once I found DH I realized that I had the better deal - at least I got to see more. DH didn't move 5 feet from the entrance because we happened to go in the door in the boys section where all of the Pirates stuff was displayed. DS was NOT moving.

We convinced the kids that we should move on to the next store as there was a toy store that they might want to look at. DS nearly hyperventalated when he walked in the toy store. And then he found the boys section. DH was really looking forward to doing the Build your own lightsaber with DS. We didn't tell DS about it because we thought it would be a big surprise. And he was excited to make it and then, once it was all made, he found the Transformers section of the store. Since when is Disney involved with Transformers???? That was it - transformers trumped Star Wars. Poor DH had to disassemble the lightsaber. It was very sad. :sad2:

So we ended up leaving the toy store with a transformer toy that we could have gotten in any Target store. Not exactly the way we pictured it. My tip to parents would be - skip the toy store at DTD.

We also learned that shipping items back to your room can be risky. At one time I thought that Disney actually delivered the items to your ROOM. Well, we learned when our package still hadn't showed up a day later that they actually ship the package to the GIFT STORE at your resort - at least at the value resort. And you have to have your receipt in order to pick it up. That's a change I didn't know about and they didn't tell us about it either. There were some VERY unhappy people in the ASMu gift store.

At MGM the day before we had decided to have dinner at the Sci-Fi the next night. Originally I had an ADR for our lunch on our last day but we thought a late afternoon lunch might be better. So we made an ADR for 3:30. What I failed to remember is - the busses at DTD only run back to the resorts. Oops. So we improvised and took the first bus that showed up. We got a nice ride to the Carribean Beach resort and swiched busses to get to MGM.

We got back into MGM and had a very nice, relaxing late lunch at the Sci-Fi. This is DH's FAVORITE restaurant. Yes - it is very cheesy. But the food's pretty good. DS got a big kick out of getting to sit in the front seat of the car by himself (DD missed the entire lunch - she was asleep in the stroller). Between the movies, food, and crayons DS kept himself busy for the entire time and DH and I had a very nice time.

When we came out we were going to go right back to the hotel. I realized that it was just about time for the Power Rangers to come out - this was one thing we didn't do the day before. So we walked over to get in line. Luckily I had scoped this out the day before and found out where the Red Power Ranger line is. Tip for those of you with Power Ranger fans - Make sure you are there early and get in line for the Ranger your child most wants to see. You will NOT be able to see all of them in 1 visit. They are only out for about 20 minutes. And WARN your child that they may not be able to see everyone. Here's what happened to us.

DS really wanted to see the Red Power Ranger (who doesn't right - he is the leader). We were about the 6th kid in line. The line moved pretty well - really good CM at the front and DS was right up there for his pic:

138394prred.JPG

Then DS wanted to see the PR car. It was pretty cool:
138394prcar.JPG

Then he decided he wanted to get in line for the Yellow Power Ranger. I warned him that the line was long and he may not get to see her but he was determined. So we got in a line of about 10 kids - one of the shorter lines at that point. The line moved quickly - again, really good CM's running this. We were about 4 kids from the front when they started annoucing 5 mintues left. When the car called the rangers back they had to go. We inched farther up and DS is getting more and more agitated. Then he was next and there was 1 minute left. By that time DS is almost in tears because he's not going to make it. The CM saw and told me they would make sure that he would make it up. He ran over to get his autograph:

And just as she signed the car announced time was up and DS burst into tears. I mean full sobbing because he didn't get to get his picture taken because the car is calling them. Poor kid - I think the tiredness was getting to him. Both the CM playing the yellow power ranger and the CM in charge of the line saw what happened. I was soooooo impressed with whoever was playing the ranger. She went right over to him and gave him a hug. She spent extra time and made sure that his was smiling and got his picture before she left. They had to hold the car for her. But she made my DS's day - he's still talking about her.

After that we decided that everyone was tired and we headed back to the resort. We got to our room and mousekeeping had left our Mickey's watching TV again (they really like the Disney channel :) )

We relaxed for awhile - played in the pool, and had an early night.

On Day 5 - We venture out to Animal Kingdom and I remember why I don't like that park (maybe someday I'll change my mind) and we hop over to Epcot for Dinner at the Garden Grille

Signing up here. Do you mean to tell me the terrible 4's are worse than the Terrible 3's:scared1: NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:scared: DS will be 1 week dhy of 4 when we go. One tip that I picked up last year was to do MK last, because after that none of it was DIsney World to DS and he hated all the other parks. This year we have it planned to do Epcot, MGM, and AK before we do MK.

I agree with you about MGM being a much better park withut kids. I don't know if it is the atmosphere, the scenery, or what but we always enjoyed walking MGM.

Next chapter pleasepopcorn::

Oh yes - 3's were nothing with our DS but 4's - watch out!!! Boys are different from girls though - our DD is going through the terrible two's - she's MUCH worse than DS ever was!!!

Hope to get to the next chapter tonight.....

Great TR. The CM do makes things run smoothly at times. Some are really great at their job and really deserve the credit for the magical moments they give to children (and even adults)
