The “Surprise my Niece & Nephew at WDW” Halloween Trip

The goal: Show up and surprise my 3rd grade niece, Pre-K nephew and sis-in-law at the Mickey Halloween Party

The story: Well we all took a big family trip to my brother & sister-in-laws 10th wedding anniversary back in April. They renewed their vows on the sand at the Poly. It was pretty cool. Things in my life have changed since then, some good & some not so good. Part of the good is that with my new since this past mid-June job that I just found out last week that I now have 23 vacation days that I must take before this coming mid-June. So now I’m planning to come down and run the Goofy Challenge at the WDW Marathon Weekend 2015. It will be 5 years after I ran my first Disney Half Marathon in 2010 (the one that was cold/rainy/snow flurries) and my first time to try to do the Goofy. My brother & I were chatting about Disney (we never got to go growing up) and thought it would be fun to surprise the kids at their trip the last weekend in Oct. Since I am the “cool” uncle. . . . kinda maybe. . . . I was able to make arrangements to do so today with vacation time from work so it’s a go. It’s a last min trip for me because I usually plan out all my trips, Disney or not, well in advance. I made reservations and book my flight this evening, my only regret is not getting an annual pass back in April which could have saved me money now but oh well, it's Disney. HaHa. So the scenario that we are trying to plan is that I will keep in touch with my brother via text of where they are and I am, and at some point surprise them at the Mickey Halloween Party and film it all in one of those “surprise magically Disney” moments. . . . but with we may end up with a. . . . “Hey uncle hows it going, no big deal that you are here” moment. It could go either way with those kids. HaHa.

The questions: Where would be a good place to say surprise in the MK? What can I do to help make this trip even more memorable and fun for them? For those that have been, is the Villains’ Sinister Soiree worth the time/money for their only Mickey Halloween Party night? We did the family dinner in the castle with the Princesses late one night in April, but it was late and we were all tired after a long day, but it was still fun. Or are there any other suggestions of things to do or not do? Its gonna be a short 3 day trip. I've been trying to catch up on the Podcast, I don't have a hour drive back & forth to work so that's cutting down on my listening time. Sorry Podcast team....

I think something as simple as walking up next to them before a parade or at the end of a ride would be surprising and fun. There is already a great party going on, so there will be plenty of distractions available to help you "wow" them. Good luck!

Thanks. Still working on the "surprise" but that was what I was leaning to on the party. Its their only night to go and I don't want to "waste" their time and them possibly miss out on other things.

There is no bad place! Maybe have them take a pic somewhere with a photopass photographer and photo bomb them.

Just a tip on the Villains thing in Cinderella's royal table, don't go completely by petes reviews there are other sites who have had different experience, for example the pole at WDNT did a review on their podcast and were there the same night and had a very good experience.
