Monday is our original anniversary of our eloping to WDW ten years ago :lovestruc We decided to eat our VR cake top then :goodvibes What the best advice on when and where to thaw the cake? Do you put it in the fridge a couple of days ahead of when you want to slice it? I didn't get a cake at all when we eloped so I am excited :yay:

Hello,

DFTW had wrapped ours in cling wrap and boxed it up for us at the reception. We kept it in the refrigerator in our room until it was time to go back home.

We brought it on the plane with us, still in its box, and when we got home, wrapped it up in foil and put it in the freezer. We didn't remove the fondant or anything.

I just put the cake, still wrapped in foil, in the refrigerator 2 days before our anniversary. On the day of, we unwrapped the foil, peeled off the fondant and pigged out! It tasted a little dry, but it was still really really yummy!

Hope you enjoy yours!

We took ours out of the freezer about 3-4 days before we were going to eat it. We peeled off the foil (while it was still frozen) and then I put it in one of those tupperware cake holders and put it in the refrigerator. By the time we went to eat it it was just like cake. I must admit, we took the fondant off when we ate it. Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips! Ours is still wrapped in fondant too which probably helps keep the cake even fresher :thumbsup2 I wrapped ours in foil when we got home too!

Our VR was May 27 so I am hoping ours will taste great after only less than six weeks in the freezer! :wizard: I am not planning on eating the fondant either  Sounds like y'all both had the idea I had. I think I will take my cake out tomorrow and put it in the fridge!! Can't wait to try it! :goodvibes
