I have a 5 lb rib roast to cook on Christmas day...can I put it in my fridge now to start the thawing process?

If it is frozen, yes. I just bought a fresh (not frozen) 6lb one today and plopped it in my freezer. We are having it on Friday instead of Christmas Day, so I'll take it out tomorrow night to let it defrost in the fridge.

Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Honestly, I know I'll get blasted for this but I thaw meat overnight on the counter:confused3 I haven't killed anyone yet:banana:

PLEASE take it OUT of the freezer at once and back in the fridge. NO need to freeze something for a two day wait and the meat will be so much more tender and juicy if you don't.

Can'tw8. You are actually supposed to let a rib roast warm to room temp before cooking. It helps you to have a roast that's cooked evenly.Ours sits out on the counter for hours before cooking
