That's right- I did it and I don't care WHAT my dh thinks!

ROFL!
I finally broke down yesterday, then it kicked on again this morning. I usually have mine on the beginning of September, so this was really good. ;)

Well, I haven't caved yet - but I have been sticking a blanket on the bed at night.

Our son is STILL running the fan in his room at night! :faint:

He just called and I confessed and told him I turned the heat on. The first thing he says is "do you have clothes on?" :rotfl2: Don't I usually??? :rotfl: Maybe 20 years ago sweetie, but these days I prefer to be fully clothed. :teeth:

Obviously your not in your late 40's to early 50's LOL's

I so wanted to this morning is was so damp and chilly but i just made Brownies instead and that heated up the kitchen and living room enough
not great but just enough

Days like this I wish we had a gas fireplace or wood stove. Something to "take the chill off".

Our local news shared last night that prices will be going up 50% for gas, 30% for oil, and 5% for electric. The family plans to use flannel sheets, get an electric blanket, slippers, robes, and comfy blankets for the living room. We still have not turned on the heat this season-I am afraid to see the bills if I do

Heat??? :confused3 I've got the air conditioner on! :rotfl:

Well you go girl! :goodvibes :cool1:  :Pinkbounc We just can not have you cold. No heat here yet in NJ, but sure it will be soon!

I did cave in last week when we had a couple days in the 30 degree range. I have been turning it down at night, though. The next week or so is suppose to be in the upper 60's, so I will turn it off until I need it again.

Call me a rebel- I TURNED THE HEAT ON! If it means divorce so be it!

:rotfl2:

I was sooooo tempted two days ago. I was FREEZING. :cold: DH and I agreed that due to the high prices this year we would keep the thermostat set lower this winter. It was sooooo hard not to turn it on. I remembered my promise to dress more warmly and went and put on a turtleneck and sweatshirt. My hands were still like ice and I hate breathing cold air. Finally it warmed up.

The problem is...it was only down to 70! I'm never gonna make it through the winter! 72 is as cold as I can stand it (inside I mean. I don't mine the 60s outside. It's kind of nice at football game and stuff, but somehow inside it feels soooo cold :cold: )

Laurie, also a cold weather wuss. I need to move further south! LOL!

Wow baking so early, you are my hero :sunny:

I'm holding off on the heat as long as possible, but I don't think we need it here just yet. Heck, last week the ac was full blast with all the humidity!

I turned the heat on ......and then it was caput.......had the furnace man here for two and a half hours and cost me almost 500 dollars......of course dh is in upstate hunting ......I had to do this on my own. it is cold and damp and I dont; give a hoot what the cost is.........TIS COLD OUT AND THAT IS IT

DH left for New Orleans at end of September. At the time, the A/C units were still in the windows -- but not being used. Since then, I've caved, & had to ask a neighbor to come take them out. He came in & commented how cold the house was. I've since added another blanket. The cat is sleeping with me now - a sure sign! And yesterday, I finally turned on the electric heat!

We heat with a pellet stove.....and I'm still on a waiting list for pellets since early Sept because now there is a shortage of those.

Boy, DH will be in shock to temp change from New Orleans to MA when he finally gets back. I feel sorry he missed the autumn leaves changing color.

LOL! We go through this starting around this time of year and it goes on through April.

I'm proud of you for making a stand! :rotfl:

Okay, I must be weird, because in our house it's dh saying turn the heat on! :D

We have had a few nights in the low 40's, but I threw an extra blanket on all the beds. Our thermostat reads 69 in the house, so we'll be fine until it hits 65, then I'll give in!

No Heat at my house yet.. Sweatshirts. slippers and flannel are coming out though - Hoping to hold off till Nov 1st .. Michelle
