Every time Kevin has told the story about Bob's mother I end up with tears streaming down my face. I can make it through the first part where Bob's mother is singing, but the tears start flowing when everyone sings all the songs the next year.

That is so true. I guess that I am so touched by that story because last Christmas Eve my family had dinner at Le Cellier and then did the Candlelight Processional. I remember Bob signing autographs while waiting to be seated and I had the chance to chat with some of the team members.


I actually feel kind of privileged to have been there with them last year.....hopefully that does not come out in a creepy stalker sort of way. I did not even speak of seeing and "hearing" Kevin being seated for the performance.

My wife and son were the ones getting the autograph. I think it freaked Brian out a little, the whole group was very gracious and friendly.

When we look a our autograph book and see Bawb's contribution it makes us smile.

I believe Artman & family were the first ones to ask for Bob's autograph. He was tickled that you did. He had had lots of other people stop him to meet & talk to him. Because he was the most recognizable of the pod cast team & was in the parks so much, this happened often after that.
Going to the Candlelight on Christmas eve was our Florida family tradition. We took Bob & my mother for 4 years, they both passed away in 2004. We continued to go every year after. Bob loved Christmas soooo much (as do we all)
Brian & I are not going this year on Christmas eve. We felt it would be too hard for us. We're going to my daughter Erin's home to spend Christmas with her, husband Rob, & the boys Mason 3 & Gavin 6. I will, however, go to it sometime during the season (maybe more than once).

That was a fantastic story! It made me emotional (I rarely cry) because my grandmother is in the early stages of dimensia. It is heartbreaking for my entire family, but your story gave me some hope. She's going with us to Candlelight Processional.

Remembering the special moments of past Disney trips, how awe inspriring that was. Its the small moments that make every trip special. The story about Bob was truly amazing. It is a testament to what makes Disney so special. Sometimes with the today's fast pace life you forget about those special moments. I made it through Kevins story - saying - dont cry - dont cry - hes not telling the story so you will cry and then right after that Teresa says "turn around and look at your kids faces" and I lost it. Ive never had an emotional reaction to a podcast like that before.

I just listened to the e-mail show last night. I had not heard the story from Kevin before, and it really touched me. Last year I lost my mother in September. She too was struggling with dementia (maybe Alzheimer's). It was so hard to see her drift away, and after she passed and we started reflecting on her life it was even more dramatic to think how far she had drifted away. It pains me to know that my daughters, DD7 and DD10 , will never really know their Granny. They only saw a shell of her for a brief time, but they did not know the woman that was my mother.

Kevin, your story was particularly touching to me because I remember my family being able to visit her in August before she passed away. It was the best (and most lucid) she had seemed for a long time. She was smiling and laughing, and Maggie (DD10 ) even commented to me "Granny's doing well, she knew who all of us were." That was the last time we saw her. I am so glad I had that one last, good weekend with her before she passed.

i had the show playing on my ipod while i got things ready for Thanksgiving dinner i lost it too! had to tell others in the kitchen that is was just the onions!

I agree, it was a great story to hear. My mother and I always wanted to go to WDW to see the christmas decorations. She was very ill for a long time, so I had bought her the CD of the Candlelight Processional and she listened to it when she went to bed every night, not just at Christmas. We had planned a trip last year to take her, along w/ her brother and his family.

She didn't make it, she passed away last summer. The rest of the family went and we saw the Processional twice. I cried through it both times but I know she was in a much better place and was enjoying it from where she was, as will Bob this year, I'm sure.

We are going back next week and are going back to Candlelight, hopefully I can make it though this time, but if not, tears are a great release.

Agreed it was a great story and I definitely had the kleenex out. It was the first time I have ever heard anyone get that emotional on the podcast. Kudos to Kevin for making us all remember the magic.
