that poor cat

Briar Rose, I have a feeling Little Shelter will tell you no. Believe it or not it seems to be most palces like Little Shelter and Northshore Animal League will not take strays. I would definatly try calling them and explain the situation, but don't get discouraged if they say no. Another place to call is Grateful Paws. They are located in Huntington Township at the pound, but separate from the dog pound. They are strictly cats, maybe they can be of some help.

thank you, crazyme. we didn't see O'Malley today, but he does tend to wander.

my sister spotted a mama cat and a litter of kittens down by the pond last week.

it's so sad.

this is from Little Shelter website

Little Shelter is a nonprofit animal rescue organization staffed mainly by volunteers. We take abused and abandoned animals from the streets and from those awaiting death at the municipal pounds. We provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for these animals while they are waiting for loving adoptive homes

While Little Shelter is wonderful, I know from personal experience that they won't always take strays. Unfotunatly part of the problem is financial, they are a not for profit organization and like so many other places they just don't have the financial resources right now.
