That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

Oh, and FWIW, I looooove my Capris! SO much so, that I now own them in thre colors.

Good to know! They were very comfy. I was worried the canvas might be a tad scratchy.

When did sensible start hanging out with shoe?

Truer words have ne'er been spoken...er...written. You get me.

Coral is WAY cute. You only live once! You have a 15% off code! (Meet devil's advocate.)]

Good to meet you. ::shakes hand::

I might be more listing-motivated if Disney would put the HOURS OUT FOR NEXT JANUARY!

But I'm not impatient.

Yeah. Totally not getting an impatient vibe at all! LOL

Do you already have a black and brown?

Yes, of the Old Navy variety.

Do you have any coral colored clothes that would match this sandal? White clothes? Any colors that coordinate with it?

No, yes and yes and I'm not super-duper crazy about being matchy-matchy. I follow Stacy and Clinton's advice (from What Not to Wear) and pick things that "go".

I like the coral, it's fun and happy and says Tink.

I'm sensing a theme amongst my readers.

But I am boring. Typically, I will always pick black. However, last year, I surprised myself by getting a light green sandal with white accents. Go figure.

REBEL.
PIRATE.

Doh! Shouldv'e known it was us.;)
Because let's just face it if you met some other really neat long lost pirate obsessed family of three I'd be pretty darn surprised. Not that those type of people don't exist...since we in fact are them but it would just be odd considering how obsessed with pirates we are having seen all three films and pretty much brainwashing...I mean encouraging the boy to love all things pirate to the point where we took him swimming for the first time this summer and he could be heard to say, "I love swimming in the ocean with Jack Sparrow."

:::coughcoughLONGSENTENCEcoughcough:::

:lmao:

See, when I saw those, I thought oooo...comfy canvas as opposed to plastic.:lmao:

Yes, of the Old Navy variety.
Therefore I deem your quota filled, and henceforth enable you to purchase fun colors!

No, yes and yes and I'm not super-duper crazy about being matchy-matchy. I follow Stacy and Clinton's advice (from What Not to Wear) and pick things that "go".

I love What not to Wear!!!!!

Yes...the coral is strong with you, Luke. Huh...that looks funny.

PIRATE.

Oh, yeah!:cool2:

I love What not to Wear!!!!!

Weird thing in common number 548B(i).

I'm totally convinced that if Stacy and/or Clinton were to meet me in person we would be fast friends.

Yes...the coral is strong with you, Luke. Huh...that looks funny.

It does. But I like it.

Well folks, coral it is. I probably won't buy them tonight since I'm about to head out and I'm not sure if I'll get online at home but you've all seemed to convince me that the coral is a good purchase as the other colors are blah and my blah flip flop quota has been met.

Hey, I hope I catch you. Don't get them yet. I know, I know.

Typically, 20% off codes are released around the holidays. If you can hold out a couple of days, maybe they'll do one for the fourth.:thumbsup2

Ok... freshly back from our week at Riverside. And may I just say... you lucky, lucky souls to have your trips still AHEAD of you. Of course the best recourse would be to go and never return. I keep threatening my boss that if someone makes me an offer to pilot the Jungle Cruise and make bad jokes all day that he'll never see me again. Has yet to happen, though I can't really say as I've ever 'applied', per se. The critical flaw in my plan ? Perhaps...

It was a tremendous week filled with storm troopers, stunt drivers, power rangers, and my very own action heroine(wife was spring-loaded when they asked for volunteers at the Indy Stunt Show). We were sprinkled upon a little each day, but it didn't dampen our spirits. There was much good food from Prime Time to Ohana. Best part was, with all of the hoofing from point A to point B, I didn't hold back on one delicious desert and still came back a half pound lighter. Talk about your extra strength pixie dust. :wizard:

We saw Wishes and Spectromagic, Illuminations and Fantasmic. Most wondrously of all, we rode Toy Story Mania twice ! :3dglasses Once with, and once without the aid of the Fast Pass. Do what you must... but ride this ride. It IS that good, but I warn you - you'll never be able to enjoy its red-headed sibling nearly as much. *sigh* Ah, the loss of innocence.

But yeah, it was a great week. Mickey was sad to see us leave. I kid you not... as I slid my plastic into my wallet for that final time there was a single tear sliding down his cherubic face. But such is life. I shall now slip into full on vicarious mode. May your days be filled with pixie dust, kids... and all your wishes granted. :thumbsup2

I love lists:lovestruc . As our AUgust trip approaches I develop more lists:thumbsup2

Can I play the code game. I raise V's 15% with a 20% that I just got in an email. Just log on to Shoebuy and it appears when you check out:thumbsup2

oooooooo.....I'm impressed.....:thumbsup2

And yet, saddened. Because this means I now also need to look on shoebuy.com and torture myself with thoughts of what I might like to purchase.:lmao:

I went there and didn't have the discount. Which is funny because I am registered with that site...

The only small wrench that has been thrown in the plans is to figure out what to do on our Pleasure Island night. Since Disney has decided it's simply a FANTABULOUS idea to remove all nightlife from the World with the exception of the Boardwalk's offerings. "And," squawk Disney execs, "what would be the *perfect* things with which to replace said closed establishments?!?! MORE shopping and dining!" ::lovingly pats extra fat money clip::

No. I'm not bitter.

I am a bit. So sad this really cuts down on the the number of adult things to do at night. I loved me some Adventurers Club, although I really liked PI before they opened it up. I loved the bands playing the outdoor stage and the New Years celebration every night. Just annoyed. What I don't need at Disney are more shops selling the same stuff every other shop sells. Sigh. Especially now that I can't bring an extra suitcase to cart it all home with.

As life so often gets overwhelming, I do well with lists. And so, a Disney Trip To-Do list (which I shall dedicate to LL and her new hubby as a wedding present):
So are you our Lady Listy for the week?

4.Purchase one additional pair of Croc flippies - I'm all sorts of quandrified about this one. See, Tink has decided that since luggage space is limited, that she simply cannot bring 7+ pairs of shoes.
:faint:

So not right! I really like the coral ones. I was trying some on this weekend, but ended coming home empty handed. I'm just so afraid that the bar will irritate between my toes and I'll be limping around Disney. I was thinking of a pair of these.
crocs_sporty_adara.jpg

They are billing them as flip flops without that bar between your toes. They felt very comfy in the store. I may have to succumb and try a pair.

5. Determine which bag I will be using as a carry-on and if no such bag is located or deemed "worthy" of carry-on status, purchase new carry-on bag. I have a very cute VS bag that I'd like to use, but I have to make sure it's not too big. Said bag needs to be able to hold my laptop, books, a magazine or three, snackies and my iPod. Oh, and have a little extra room for souvies too precious to be checked in my luggage on the way home...::coughcoughcoughJackSparrowcoughsnifflecough:: AND meet the SW carry-on size requirements.

This is why Disney trips are so dangerous. They require so much new stuff. I actually bought myself the personal bag to match my suitcase, but now I'm thinking I still want to carry my favorite Lulu Guiness diaper bag for my carry on bag. It's just the perfect size to hold all the above stuff and stores neatly under the seat on the plane. My new personal bag doesn't hold the laptop all that well. I fully understand though the importance of the right bag.

6. Lose 10 lbs. ::sigh::
Not a problem, now that you've renewed your self to be a shrinking tink! :thumbsup2

I will be carrying a tiny lil' Moleskin notebook with me in my wristlet. They are the perfect size to jot down quick notes in and still fit in my rather fashionable bag

I hadn't even thought of a tiny notebook for notes.

Must go add to "To Do" list.

10.
...wait, back to 9...
We won't ONLY be wearing shirts. That I've made. For us to wear. We will also be wearing shorts. And some shoes. Because I like Disney and have no intentions of being tossed for indecent exposure.
We were saving that for the PI night.

Glad this was cleared up, because you know something like that would be all over the dis boards immediately.

That there little notebook would fit perfectly into my PassHolder! I was thinking of taking the daily PassPockets out of my PassPorter and folding them in thirds to fit them in the back of the PassHolder, but I'm liking this notebook even better!

I'm loving my new Passporter, but wishing I had purchased the deluxe one now so that I could remove the pockets.

I raise V's 15% with a 20% that I just got in an email. Just log on to Shoebuy and it appears when you check out:thumbsup2

Very dangerous! Now I may have to succumb and see if they have those Crocs Adaras.

Wings....I have the deluxe and will never use the pockets...PM me with your address and I'll send them to you.

Welcome back, but just for you, I wish you weren't. I wish you were still reveling in all that is the World.

And I hear ya on skippering the Jungle Cruise. I've been tempted many a time to apply for a position in LBV/Celebration, but financially it wouldn't work out just yet. But, there's always someday.

Anywho, good to see you here on the pre-trippie o' mine and I'm glad you had a great trip. Let the vicariousness begin!

So are you our Lady Listy for the week?

I suppose I am!

I was trying some on this weekend, but ended coming home empty handed. I'm just so afraid that the bar will irritate between my toes and I'll be limping around Disney.

I used to have this fear about flippies but never actually experienced that problem. I love me some flippies!!!

Not a problem, now that you've renewed your self to be a shrinking tink! :thumbsup2

Well, despite my most recent efforts, I experienced some weight-related frustration this morning (posted about it on the Tinks thread). But I'm trying to be positive and move past it.

All the nifty new crocs they have now...so tempting!

And so appreciated. Considering I just can't swallow the original ones.

Wings....I have the deluxe and will never use the pockets...PM me with your address and I'll send them to you.

Awww. Look at all the sharing going on on my thread!!! Love it!

8. Decorate my trip journal. I will be carrying a tiny lil' Moleskin notebook with me in my wristlet. They are the perfect size to jot down quick notes in and still fit in my rather fashionable bag:
squared.jpg

As one can see here, it truly is small-ish. I use one to track my daily WW points.

I know you can get them online, but they're cheaper at Borders. A 3-pack is about $10. I love them! There's also a slightly larger version (about the same width but taller) that I use as an everyday journal. They're great. They even have a little pocket in the back cover. You could totally slip receipts in there. That's my plan.

Ahh, the Moleskine. Hemingway wrote in one, yanno. Very prestigious. :rotfl: 'Course, he wouldn't go along with our longest-sentence ever competition, seeing as he was all about the brevity bit; however, I've found his brevity to be a deterrent in much of his stuff since I tend to like longer sentences myself--this sentence, however, is not my best effort. I blame it on lack of Internet.

Anyway, I didn't know you could get 'em in three-packs for $10. Last time I really looked into them which was around '05, they were $10 a pop, and I thought, Hemingway-blessed or not, that that was a little much for the size of what I'd get (I like my journals somewhat large since they don't typically travel with me). I'll have to check Moleskines out again, though.

Jack: But why is the rum gone love?
Tink: Well, you see Cap'n, there's a limit as too how much liquid you can bring aboard an airplane.
Jack: Bring me my ship!

:lmao:

:headache: Doh! Shouldv'e known it was us.;)

:rotfl: When I'm less Internet-deprivation-confuzzled, I'll give it another go. :thumbsup2

I've always felt the same way about the Tower of Terror or the Treehouse. Sadly no one has made me an offer yet, and much as I like Disney I really don't think I could ever be a year round Florida girl. A January - April Florida girl yes.

Same here. I couldn't stand the heat of the summer months, or maybe even the months surrounding the summer months. But if I were to spend my winters in FL, I'd then miss the snow. Digging my car out of the snow, not so much, but winter without snow just seems so wrong to me. So I guess I have to settle for making trips a regular thing. :goodvibes

I should clarify, these don't have the nice leather-y covers and they don't have a TON of pages (maybe 86-120 each). The covers on these are a nice, sturdy cardboard. I've only ever seen them in the 3-pack at Borders. Either in the 'journal' area or right by the registers.

NOT I, said the goose. I despise being cold. It's much easier to be hot and cool off than it is to get warm. The only three things that keep me from moving down there (other than financial considerations) are:
1. Being that far from my momma.
2. BUGS.
3. Hurricanes.

Also, I thought of another item to add to my list from yesterday (though I haven't yet crossed anything off the list from yesterday (Grr.):

14. Compile list of names and addresses for postcards. I have already bought stamps. There are some DISers who'll be getting some postcards too. If you'd like one, I'd be happy to send one on. Just PM me your address.

I take the opposite view. I figure if I'm cold, I can always add another layer. If I'm hot, and in public, I can only strip down so far before risking getting arrested for indecent exposure. :rotfl:

I agree with those! Speaking of bugs, on both of my walks today, a nasty gray-looking bug landed on my leg, twice during the first time and once during the second. Each time it felt like it was biting me, but I never saw a mark. I have no idea what kind of bug it is, so henceforth I will call it Nasty Gray Maybe-Biter Bug. :crazy2:

If you've left work and have hence started your long weekend, have fun! Enjoy! Don't forget to DIS! ;) :thumbsup2

I HATE winter. I mean I HATE it. And I've lived in New England my whole life. And when you're little, snow is fun and pretty and gets you out of school. And when you work it's the carp you have to drive through with your son to your mother's house to go to work for all the fleshmeganah times they do not close the bank in that carpy weather.

Florid-ahhhhhh....

How I wish I could live there. :cloud9:

Ick, I really hate the bugs. And the lizards. Everytime I go to visit my family in Florida we always end up chasing lizards out of the house. What causes those bugs to get so big??

:yay: :yay: Me, me! I love getting postcards. Scratch that I really love getting real mail. Darn e-mail. It's convient, but no one sends real mail any more.
