That Mickey sure is one smart cookie!! May 2011 CBR TR (update 08/13)

Yes that is what just died on me was my Nikon Coolpix one of the older ones..but I loved it. Time to spend some money. ugh..but I have to we leave in a few weeks to the most wonderful place on Earth.:cool1: Either going to get another coolpix or a canon..whichever is the best deal. :surfweb:

you can't go without!!! and your trip is so close! i know you must be getting really excited!

We enjoyed Tusker House breakfast on our last trip as well! We opted for the pre-park opening ADR. Then, while I was waiting for the check with DS, DH took a quick walk over to EE and grabbed fastpasses. By the time DS and I had paid and used the restroom, DH was back and we hopped onto the Safari with hardly any wait! I did not find the restaurant too crowded at all during our time there. The buffet area was so open, it was not really a problem.

It sounds like you are off to a good start at Animal Kingdom!

The restaurant wasn't too crowded for us either- it was a stark contrast to CP, which i'll get to later. we wanted a leisurely morning, so it was working great so far!

Well, I never thought i'd be able to say this, but I finally received my photopass cd!

I may have a bit of an obsession with editing my photopass. For each photo, i first saved as a 5 X 7. Then a few i saved as 8 X 10. Then of course i had to crop on some, flip the orientation on some, cut a kid out of some, cut a character out of some, change to black and white on some- not to mention add borders to originals and to edits. sometimes all these edits were done in multiple sizes. i even made some edits to the free character pictures that they put in the account.

I ended up doing the entension to have time to finish... At the end, i turned 254 pictures into over 1250:scared1:

After all this, i did come up with a couple of key points i'd like to mention.

1) Don't be too unselfish. For the most part, when we did Photopass pictures, we just stuck both kids in there together. While this can save you time, and move the line along nicely, it isn't always the best solution. Don't forget how hard it is to get multiple people looking the same direction and smiling. Also, dont forget that shorter children may benefit from characters coming down to their level. they wont be able to do that if they have larger taller kids in the picture as well. I wish that we had mixed up our groupings a bit more.

2) Take Multiple photo sessions- even if they are in similar spots or on the same day. We had bad luck with crooked photos this trip- off center, whatever. you may notice many of my picture cropped to the point of cutting off arms on both sides. That is because at times, the photographer cut off one persons arms and then had tons of open space on the pther side. and you never know if some shots may have poor lighting, if something crazy may be going on in the background etc.

Here are some of our photopass pictures from day 2 at Magic Kingdom

example of tip # 1- i would have loved to crop James and Tigger out of this one, but the distance between Tigger's head and James' head was too greaqt for Photopass site.

To Be Cont!

Congrats on finally getting your photopass cd! I don't have the patience to do all that editing, I just slap some borders on and that is about it. :rotfl:

I love your Photopass pics!!! They are all so fun! :thumbsup2

Luvin the photopass pics!

Thanks to you all! I love photopass!

And Leesa- I find the photo editing process to be perfect for procrastination. Who has time for laundry when there are edits that need to be done!

We took more pp pics the first day or so than the rest of the week, so tomorrow I'll post the princesses and Epcot so they will be all caught up then

Thanks for the Photopass reminders!! First, I have to remember to pre-order mine. I try to push the feelings out that we should hurry for the sake of the others waiting. I think we have gotten over this in all our times using PP.

Your editing turned out great! I LOVE the picture of James getting hugged by Pooh!! SOooo cute! The editing lets you continue to live those Disney memories even after you get home!

Are you on a share? I declined an invite for a share because i knew i'd hold everyone up :lmao: i ended up preordering!

To be honest, the waiting wasn't so much about others as it was about my family. James grasped waiting for other families to finish, but not really that he needed to wait for Maya to finish. Maya liked having James in some pictures too. And Chris definitely didn't argue when we were moving along. I'll just try to remember that in the future. I didn't really notice the height thing in other trip reports, becuase most people are holding little ones. but i like to stay out of the pictures, and James thinks he's as old as Maya, so in his mind that means he is way to big to be picked up LOL.

It does let you relive a trip. I definitely get a big smile on my face when I look at PP pictures!

OMG I thought I was a big time photo editor :lmao: Love Love the pic of the close up of James face within Pooh's arm...absolutely adorable...

I may have gone just a bit overboard, and more so than i have in the past. But i think i'm prepared for every possible need i could ever come up with for these pictures LOL.

thanks! that is one of my favorites from the whole trip. Maya had told the handlers that Pooh is James' absolute character, and he made sure to get some really good ones for us!

No, we are not in a share. We are pre-ordering and splitting the cost with my mom. We have gotten the CD the past 3 trips and find that it is soooo worth it. Most of the pics turn out great and then to be able to add in the magic shots as well as all the things you can add in when editing.

That is funny about James! Colby is still a little leary around the characters, so that is why we have held him in the past. We will see how it goes this time!

I love the photopass pictures! I've never ordered the CD, but I'm sure I would try to do as much editing as I could think of.

I thought Maya's Rapunzel cake turned out really cool. And her hair looked great, too. :thumbsup2

Breakfast at the Tusker House looks like fun. I've never been there, but I do think the characters look good in safari clothes.

I am finally caught up. I am loving your report.
I know what you mean about the smoking areas. They are removing some and I get confused. I try to go to the same ones each time, every year and this past trip my favorite one was gone.
