That Mickey sure is one smart cookie!! May 2011 CBR TR (update 08/13)

thanks for commenting... i feel like i'm talking to myself... i gues that is what i get for taking a 6 month break between posting:rotfl:

I often feel like that too on mine.

The Princess Parade is so cute! Her BBB transformation is adorable! Love the dress too!

Too bad poofy girl blocked Maya in the group photo and too bad one of THOSE moms got in your other pics.

That's cute about the meatball sandwich. At least she tried it. I went with my grandpa to a restaurant once, and he let me order liver and onions. I had never eaten it in my life. I took one bite, said yum, and played with it the rest of the time. Never did acquire a taste for liver and onions.

I don't like the potato salad at EoS either. It's not what I'm use to either.

I have never seen filled brownies there. I don't eat chocolate so I'm not usually looking for chocolate desserts. I've seen the brownie bites though.

Sorry you missed the Pixar event.

Storm along bay is an awesome pool!! Our first 2 Disney stays were at the Beach Club. The first one was before kids (so over 18 years ago, I think it was shortly after the resort opened) and the 2nd stay was when our oldest was a toddler. If I had the $, I'd gladly stay there again!

Glad you were able to get sooner ADRs. I would like to try the Flying Fish sometime. Your pictures from there look great! The puzzle is a great idea!

And I loved your photobooth pictures. I would have never thought to step in and take the pictures. Might have to try that some time! We have so many sticker photos from when our oldest was younger.

I got a good laugh from her Vidia comment from Maya's game of fairies!!

Hmmm. I wonder what it means. Where did you fine that at? I posted it on our facebook group.

I love James' green crocks..to cute!

I am hoping to do TWM this next time. we've only done it once, in 2009. If i can get Claire out of bed early enough one day, I will make that a goal!

Whoops. Meant to post that on tHe PTR

I bet that came from you. On the Oct FB group someone posted it with the link to stitch kingdom. She said she had seen it on the nov thread I tried to google it but couldn't find any additional info.

I wonder if the TSM FP are going a bit slower with the enforcement? I think it's fun- but at the same time I don't hunk the lines would be nearly as long if there were more rides there to compete with it

Tink- good to see you! I'll respond to you when I'm back on the computer. Long posts are impossible on the phone!

thanks! she had sucha great time!

she still had a great time. wasn't worth complaining over because i wouldn't have wanted to take away from Maya's moment. lukily i still got a few good ones!

We've always made the kids try one bite of everything on their plate, and usually one bite of anything we may get that they may or may not like. i wouldn't say it's turned her into an adventurous eater, but at least she's more open minded about it. what made you want to try liver and onions? that's one thing that i never had an interest in. i love onions, but there is just something about that combination that really turns me off. i think it may be because it always was portrayed as super nasty in all the children's books

sooooo good! but i'm not goign to rave any longer because it makes me sad that you can't have chocolate:lmao:

Sorry you missed the Pixar event.

it would have been nice to see, but i think it would have made us all grumpy. i would have felt like we were missing the whole day if we were standing in line for an hour or so for each character set. you can accomplish so much in an hour or two!

one day, i will stay there! i keep trying to talk my DH into a short parents only weekend at an epcot resort. he has not bitten yet, but one day he will!

it was really great. i want to go back for sure. i'm not sure if they have chicken or not (its been a while, that's what A likes, right?) but i'm sure that with a call to dining for advanced notice they could get it for him.

And I loved your photobooth pictures. I would have never thought to step in and take the pictures. Might have to try that some time! We have so many sticker photos from when our oldest was younger.

it really was just one of those, okay, fine, i'll take them if you will agree to move on afterwards moment, but it does make sense. those strips of photos never fit right in photobooks anyway

I got a good laugh from her Vidia comment from Maya's game of fairies!!

who would have thought that being rude was so well thought out:lmao:

Those are awesome shots of them with Buzz and Woody. I didn’t remember that they greeted at DHS. We were there for such a short time on our first trip. That could save me some time waiting in two lines in MK if I can see them both at DHS. Dd doesn’t want to meet Jesse really and ds doesn’t really pay much attention to her. Was this a long wait? Ds has a Buzz and Woody shirt that would work great for this.

Love, love, love the Buzz and Woody M&G pics!! The kids look like they are having so much fun!

We have NEVER done that. I just showed them to dh and A. They are so excited to do this. I have seen countless pics on TRs, close ups. I never realized it looked like the M&G was on a bed. I love it!! Saw the rocket pic on another TR last week and thought that was so cool. Now seeing more, I don't know why we didn't just force him into line to do the M&G. He's always been afraid of the looks of it from the outside. This is now on the bucket list. It will be nice to do something we've never done!

Mater is loud. Maybe it was the noise that intimidated James? Cute about Maya looking for Cici and Rocky.

Chicken and pizza are his favs, but he will eat broiled or grilled fish. He likes his chicken crunchy, but not his fish, lol! He also eats ham and pork, but we have to call it chicken ham and chicken pork, and he dips them in ketchup. I'll have to check out the menu at the Flying Fish.

they meet directly across from the entrance to TSMM. Its usually a lengthy line when i've passed it. we went at 9:15ish in the morning and it was about 20 minutes. i've seen it at an hour though. they have a few things to look at/ interact with, so it goes quickly. that shirt sounds perfect!

i had to look back to see what you were talking about. the meet and greet isn't on a physical bed- its just decorated behind them to look as if it is. i hope that doesn't disappoint A! the line tends to be a bit lengthy, but its pretty fun inside. i'd venture to say that the shortest lines are first thing when they open.

mater didn't make a sound. he didn't flinch a bit. i was truly surprised because James likes Mater better than Lightning or any of the other cars. maybe it was just the size? it was so odd seeing him there though.

I'm sure that they could find something for Anakin on the menu. they definitely have fish! It would be easy to leave the toppings/ sauces off for him i bet!

You have a good point. I don't know if he thinks it's an actual bed. I assumed he knows it is scenery, but that's something I will definately have to address with him ahead of time.

He did ask if it was a real rocket. He wanted it lit so he could fly. He knows that's all pretend now.

its a pretty neat area! let me know when you go, i'd love to hear about it! :goodvibes

Sorry for the delay in updating. We are in major car shopping mode at my house. Its absolutely no fun at all! i hope to have an update soon!

I have to say, I LOVE the Vidia line - that is SO Katie!:rotfl2:

You all got some great buys at DTD! Its hard to set budgets yet indulge at the same time. We are still trying to break Katie of the belief that she must have a purchase at every store! (though truthfully she gets that from me, I am a compulsive shopper and try so hard to control it.)

You totally earned points by suggesting ESPN zone, right? :thumbsup2 Nice that it worked out to just let the kids work off some steam with the photo shoot and playing in the grass.

Dinner sounds wonderful! I love the idea of paintable chocolate puzzles for the kids. Only at Disney, right? :wizard:

I love Maya's look with the curly ponytail at the end of the day.

gotta go pick up Katie from school now but am enjoying your TR even if I am pokey about it!

i love to shop too, but i'm not that great at spending on myself. I buy way way way too much children's clothing. i think its because i only have so little time that they will let me dress them. And books- lets just say that i have more than a lifetime of books for my kindle. luckily, they don't take up space, and luckily, they were free. but i just can't pass up anything that sounds good becuase i might be missing something great!

i was so glad that we got to do something chris wanted to do. he never speaks up about it. i still need to implement the "______'s day" plan like you used.

it was such a great dessert, and a great meal. i really recommend it.

no worries, i'm glad you join in!

Happy Mother's Day Everyone!

What do you all have planned this weekend?

Tomorrow we have teeball, a birthday party, and then a meal with my parents/ brother/sister/SIL/ neice/ nephew.

And sunday, I have nothing planned!!!! I may order food to be delivered, and i may just stay in my pajamas all day!!!

As we passed the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, my kids begged to go in. Against my better judgement, I agreed. Who can resist a giant can of Playdoh?

I should have known better. I was a nervous wreck. I snapped a picture and that's all it took to lose them. I made Chris go find them while I stood guard at the exit. They were not happy with me when I made them leave after only one turn down the slide.

Luckily, there was a distraction just steps away. At least, according to schedule, there should be. The Monsters should be out. We didn't see them though, so we asked. Their meet and greet is hidden behind the store. We were the only ones in line!

Sully wasn't there so i'll share a couple freebies from the photopass disk.

There was still a little time to kill before our 12:45 ADR. We decided to see The Little Mermaid. On the way, James made a new buddy.

Finally we arived at our destination. However, there were 25 minutes until the next show. Handy Manny's line was short and right across the way.

We didn't think we'd have enough time to see the Little Einsteins and still make it to Ariel so we decided we'd see them later. My kids don't really know who they are anyway. Well, at least at that time. During the two weeks that we had the Disney JR channel, he fell in love with them:lovestruc

Crowds of people were entering Voyage of the Little Mermaid now, so we decided to go ahead and enter too. There was still 15 minutes until the show, but it seemed like forever. It was too packed in there to put James down. He is so heavy! He's only 37 lbs, but it's all compacted into a short stature. He's built like a football player!

My advice on the timing of this show-go when your coffee is fresh! There is something about it- I don't know if it's the darkness or the cool temps- but it always puts my husband to sleep!:rotfl: I was even fighting it this time. And I might have given in if I hadn't seen Chris' eyes closed lol!

I've had the pleasure of reading through the entire trip report up until now. Am anxiously awaiting the next installment! Either that or you never did make it out of DHS... ;)

ha! we did make it out! although i wouldn't mind being there right now. thanks for reading along! i've got the next update ready and will post it soon i promise.

Great update!! Love the M&Gs.

Looks like they both really enjoyed the army man!!

Einsteins have been a favorite at our house. Years ago Disney use to have a playhouse Disney concert series at DHS. We saw the Einsteins in concert there. It was so cute. I think Anakin was 3 or 4 back then.

Just had to tell you that thanks to your TR and DMGuertz TR, we finally went to the Buzz and Woody meet and greet this past weekend!! It was a blast. I haven't posted it yet. But it's coming.

Oh, i'm so happy to hear that the B&W meet and greet went well! I bet Anakin is glad he braved it out. I can't wait ot read about it!

The show let out at 12:42 and we hightailed it to 50's Prime Time for our ADR. On the way James fell asleep in the stroller- he must have been fighting it too! We let him sleep while took a potty break and waited in the living room for our name to be called. Our tummies grumbled and the promise of a peanut butter and jelly shake was mentioned at least 750 times. Finally, they called our name. Then they called it again.

"no, we aren't seating you, we just wanted tp check and see if there are actually two parties here with the same name"

I found it odd. The name is NOT common.

There was the sweetest old hostess there. Im not exxagerating when I say old. If she wasn't 100 she was close. And she was moving at 8 steps per minute. She too was very confused by the double parties with the same name. Finally someone helped her out and we were seated at our table.

The kids meals do not come with the choice of milkshake. I ordered a peanut butter and jelly one and our server was nice enough to split it for the kids. She put my root beer on the tab under Mayas seat. I couldn't decide between the sampler or the chicken pot pie. Chris made my decision for me when he picked the sampler. I thought the chicken pot pie was good but needed something to make it pop. Chris felt the same way about his choice. I think Disney makes everything bland to appeal to the masses, rather than have problems with making something too spicy or too whatever.

Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie - Creamy cheese mixture of chicken, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onions, and peas topped with a flaky pastry - $16.99

A sampling of Mom's favorite recipes - Crispy fried chicken, fork tender pot roast and traditional meatloaf with all the fixins - $19.99

this pic borrowed from WDWinfo. thank you!

Maya had mac and cheese with fruit, and James had meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. The kids each chose the do it yourself sundae for dessert. Chris had a peanut butter and jelly milkshake, while I had dads brownie sundae.

This was one meal I wished I could have kept a dessert credit for later or something. Nobody would help me and most went to waste.

There was no playful joking going on anywhere in our section. No one was told to clear their plate or get their elbows off the table. We were fine with that, as neither Chris or I like to draw attention to ourselves. In fact, our server was seldom seen. I'm not sure if she had sidework or something? She seemed to know all about the menu, the dining plan etc so I doubt she was new. We were ready to pay after ordering dessert, but didn't see her for some time.

Because of our CM charging James' meal to the dining plan at Le Cellier, we were out of kids credits. Ours were charged to the dining plan and we paid the kids out of pocket.

It was almost 230 by the time we got settled. We refilled our water bottles and found a spot for the pixar parade. We weren't at the very front, but we had shade to wait in behind us.

I used the time for random pictures!

After the parade I checked the fastpass for Tower of Terror distribution on my lines app. It was only 45 minutes out, so it could wait until later.

We followed a good portion of the crowd to Pixar Place. 3:27. The line was 90 minutes and the fastpasses were long gone. Thank goodness we had a couple sets left! It still took about 12 minutes to make it through the fp line.

James and I rode together this time. He chose not to wear his glasses, and I had to hold him when we were moving. It really whipped him around. He somewhat understood what it was all about this time. He pulled the string a few times and ended up scoring 1100!

DSCN1315.jpg

DSCN1321.jpg

I got 120,000. Maya got 20,200, and Chris got 199,100. We had a few minutes to spare before the next Indiana Jones show, so Chris went to get 2 tower fastpasses and 1 Rock n roller fastpass. The rest of us took a potty break, in hopes that we would actually make it through the show without needing one.

We met on Chris in front of the show and park the strollers. We started to climb the steps and what do I hear?

"momma, I have to go potty. NOW"

Seriously? We just came from there! But apparently she had a stomach ache and really did have to go again. I had no idea where the closest restroom was so we backtracked a good while until we found one.

Crisis adverted!

UGH! The potty troubles...been there many times. I don't know why, but it seems like going potty is fun to do at the parks.
