Did you ever find a plant that you just couldn't grow? No matter where you put it, it croaks???? I have a few. No matter what I do, they hate it, me, the yard, the sunlight, the soil.....and they ultimately go toes up!

For one......I can't grow a LUPINE to save my life. No matter where I put it, no matter how much/little I water it, the plant dies. The flower stalk always looks deformed. It's truly a grotesque experience for me!

I also am no great hand at FOXGLOVE....except the perennial kind. The biennial.....those seeds must blow into someone else's yard, because believe you me, they don't reseed in my flower beds!!!!

And lastly.....what's up with HENS AND CHICKS???? I have an uncle whose backyard just is covered in hens and chicks. He brings over a bunch every year. And guess what???? DEADER THAN A DOORNAIL INSIDE OF A SEASON!

Where the heck does YOUR green thumb fail you????

AND ARE YOU GOING TO TRY THOSE ORNERY PLANTS AGAIN?????

Hmmmm....for the last two summers I've admired my neighbour's lupines and had considered planting one. I think I'll sit on that idea. :)

So far, I've only been able to grow one rose bush. We've tried several times over the years, but have only managed to keep "Blaze" alive. Can you kill them with kindness and concern? I think so....

This is so embarrassing, but, I planted lots of gladioli bulbs two years ago, they started to emerge, and I drowned them! :o Got a little too generous with the H2O and rotted the poor little things.

Houseplants. I have silk flowers inside with the exception of one very GRACIOUS AND FORGIVING FICUS (spelling?) tree. I kill them with too much water or forget about them and dry the poor things out.

I cannot keep zinnias around to save my soul! I know it is in their nature to get powdery mildew by the end of the season, but mine get it after only 3 or 4 weeks, no matter how careful I am!!!

Also, I cannot grow anything in the house. No matter what it is.

For annuals in the front yard last summer, I planted hot pink snapdragons (just beautiful!) purple pansies, and gorgeous lemon yellow dahlias along with some white allysum. The purple pansies slowly all croaked. Didn't have one that survived. The snapdragons and dahlias thrived and were gorgeous, so was the allysum.
Trust me, I will not purchase them again!

I couldn't keep a houseplant alive to save my life. I always forget to water them or don't put them in the right lighting. Plus in the winter heating our home with a wood stove they really don't like it. I gave up.

But, I love my outside gardens if I ever get to see them again. I think it's just going to keep snowing and snowing somemore. Maybe June or July will be a good month.
