I got back from Disney a week ago. I was waiting for out Magic Express bus to pick us up. When another ME bus stopped and dropped off new arrivals. I had this horrible feeling of jealousy overcome me. I can't complain...I was there for 7 nights. But, that look of people just arriving just mad me feel jealous and sad. :guilty: :confused3

My husband always calls it the walk of Doom when we wheel our luggage back to the car. :rotfl2:

It always sucks when someone else is on vaca when we're not!!!

It's the worst, isn't it? I REALLY try to savor those first few minutes when I first arrive at the resort, because I know those poor suckers wheeling their luggage out to the parking lot are going to be ME sooner than I think. ;)

I agree. For me, there is nothing worse than opening the door on check-out day and seeing that horrible envelope hanging there. It isn't the all the room charges, but the fact that it is time to go home.

I agree. We got home 1 wk ago as well. I hated opening the door that morning and seeing the check out receipt. Of course, the rest of the week, we gloated that others had the white envelope and we didn't.... :rotfl2:

The last day is so sad, especially when seeing others at the beginning of their trip. :sigh:

I get that feeling when I get to the airport and i see people walking up to the people with the Mickey gloves....I am the poor sucker waiting to go home and they are all fresh faced and eager to get to their resort....

Another terrible feeling is bringing someone to the airport to go on their trip. We dropped my sister and her husband off on Sun for their 2 week WDW trip. It really sucks going all the way to the airport and then having to turn around to go home. On the plus side, they will have the same feeling when they bring us to the airport the day after thanksgiving for our WDW trip.

I like the saysing "Walk of Doom" !

Our tradition is being in Magic Kingdom the last night. I get so depressed when we have to leave that last night. Walking out of magic Kingdom on that last night is my "Walk of Doom"

I sometimes just get this urge to sit down right in the middle of Main Street like a 3yo and refuse to leave !!

I tried that, it does not work.

We also call it the walk of doom. One thing worse than the last day is the drive by :moped: . My In-laws and my Parents both live in Southern California. My In-laws are south of Disneyland and my Parents a bit east... so when we are doing the 'visiting family' thing we have to repeatedly drive past Disneyland. :guilty: Of course we do go to Disneyland each time we go to SoCal, but it is still really hard to watch it go by. They renamed a freeway exit "Disney Drive" just to rub it in.

Or how about when you are riding the monorail for the last time on your trip!?!?! We hate to hear "If this concludes your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort......." It's so funny to hear that we are not the only ones who think these same things when we are leaving!!

Include me in this club. I absolutely hate the feeling of your last day at WDW. We were there for 8 nights in June and it just FLEW!!!! I remember savoring the first few days and then all of a sudden that horrible envelope was on our door. I wish I could stay there forever....................

or sitting on that ME bus and the driver asking "Is everybody happy?" and of course I said no. He even radioed in that he had an unhappy passenger!

DS & I just got home Aug 27th from our 1st two week mother/son WDW vacation. It was great!
Even though we have a wk at WDW followed by a wk on the Magic next Aug I needed something closer so I booked a wk end of March.
Im now wondering if maybe, just maybe, I can get down there for my Nov birthday. ahhhh I want Mickey!

I know what you guys mean, but I'm usually ready to get home and sleep in my big bed! The only cure for the depression from the walk of doom is to start planning the next trip. Even if your family doesn't know you're planning it, you can start researching on the DIS anyway upon your return! As far as I know, that's the only known cure! :flower:

When you get home, start planning your next visit to Disney to help banish some of the blues. Or start planning a Disney cruise for next time. Send away for every brochure and video you come across. Even though another trip may be well into the future, planning is a lot of fun and will keep you going with all the information coming in. Keep active on these boards, too.

Happy planning.

I agree. I was so depressed coming home that I immediately started planning a trip next year to cheer me up.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I can so identify! But I didn't know that it was an epidemic! I agree with the cure. I'll need it real bad in a month. Don't let me think about that now! ;)

I'll admit it, I cry a little when I walk out of the last park on the last day.

Has anyone tried packing up in the middle of their vacation and wheeled their luggages to the front entrance prentending that they are on their last day.. then turned around and said.. "Ahhh...welcome back!" Maybe we should try that, maybe this might make us feel better... like "I'm leaving... but no worries.. I'm coming right back!" (literally!)

We usually split our stay between Disney and Universal so that makes it a little easier. When we check out we are leaving but not going home - yet. Of course then when we check out of Portofino that means the trip is officially over but somehow that's not as bad as leaving for home from WDW. We did that once and I was so depressed beginning around 4:00 PM at MK. Then that night at dinner I was almost in tears because we were leaving the next morning!
