When to go?

First, let me say, that in my opinion there is no BAD time to go to Disney. I've done August twice, Feb/Mar, first week of September and April. I've never had a bad time.

But--for the first time I have a little more flexibility than normal. Here are the issues:

* Kids are 12, 9 and 1 (or 13, 10 and almost 2, depending on when we go).
* Our "style" in the last trip was commando, with a sprinkle of touring plans. We had a fabulous time, but I'm not sure the toddler will do well with that style.
* We are very seriously considering 10 days, and will book at least a moderate, maybe-maybe-maybe a deluxe.
* I think we can take the kids out of school, but we will certainly pay for that decision with a lot of take-home (or take-resort!) work.
* The kids love the water parks, but since we have one locally I'm willing to give that up if necessary.

I'm in mega-research mode here and looking at everything, but wouldn't mind hearing some input as to what I might not be thinking of.

I'm like you, I've never been and had a bad time. Even at 7 months pregnant, very big and very round, I had a wonderful time.

We like going in the Fall. It's not so hot & the crowds aren't quite as heavy. If I were taking a 1 year old, I'd look at a time of year that wasn't super hot. (That's just me.)

If you can swing it, do a monorail resort. The monorail is so nice and makes it much easier to get back to your resort for a break.

If you're willing to take the kids out of school, then have you thought about going during one of the party times of year-either Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? It might be fun for you to try one of those, just an idea.

We went December 3-10 last month and it was neat seeing WDW during the holidays. MVMCP was a lot of fun! Our next trip we're trying out MNSSHP for the first time.

We are going for the first time in April, so I am no help BUT... I love the Hiassen quote in your signature! He is one of DH and my favorite authors!! (Hope you have a wonderful trip whenever you decide to go!)

If you are just looking for opinions, October is nice. The kids have been in school long enough to be adjusted, but not near the midterm section (assuming your oldest is in middle school). The weather has cooled down and the humidity is lessening. The crowds are light. And, there's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and a few other Halloween things going on (haunted hayride at ft. willderness).
