I am a DVC newbie. :) We are going over Thanksgiving and my 40th bday. :scared1: I would appreciate any tips. Which park, which restaurant, do we need to go early into the park (will we get shut out?), when does WDW release the list of which restaurants serve Thanksgiving food? Are all of the resorts decorated for Christmas? TIA:hippie:

Welcome Home! We have gone over Thanksgiving the last 11 years - it's busy but doable if you plan ahead and go with the flow. Allears.net hasa list from last year of which restaurants had special Thanksgiving menus. You should review and make ADRs as soon as possible for any table service restaurants you want that week. Many people (myself included) make ADRs 180 days out since it is a busy time of year.
It is best to get up and get to the parks early. I have never seen them get shut out that week but it gets really crowded as the day goes on. Do must do rides first thing then see shows, shop, sit on a bench and watch and stop to smell the roses. Many years it has been warm enough to go to the pool in the afternoon.

Have fun - see you there! :cool1:

Forgot - yes most resorts are decorated for Christmas by the end of the week - definitely resort hop the MK and Epcot resorts!

Thanks! I can make my reservations tomorrow! Where do you recommend eatting on Thanksgiving? Question- we have 4 in our room, but can I make a reservation for 10? I want to add the rest of my fam. THX

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Artist's Point at the WL. The location was fantastic and the food was great too! I'd definitely recommend it.

Don't know what size villa you have reserved, but we have done the "eating out" and eating in as well. We did a buffet at the Grand Floridian (when my mom was paying, LOL), and the next year, we got a take out T'giving meal from a grocery store and ate in the villa. Much preferred eating in since we weren't doing a park on T'giving Day. I added some of our favorite sides to the traditional meal. My husband loves having the leftovers the next day. I would do this again if I were going this year.
