Hi, new here but love the discussions and all of the valuable information ya'll provide. We are staying at Ft. wilderness for the first time this Thanksgiving and from all of the discussions on this forum I think we are going to have a blast. I was just wondering if anyone else was going at the same time. We will be there from 11/17 to 11/24.

We have spent several Thanksgivings at Ft Wilderness and think it is the best time to visit. We have booked for an extended stay this year but it's looking like the plans may have to be cancelled. Fortunately we will keep our plans for New Years which is some comfort.

The crowds after Thanksgiving are smaller than other times of the year and the neatest thing is that the holiday decorations are out! If you get a chance, go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Definitely worth while, especially when the snow falls on Main Street! And, on the days when you are not at the parks, take a tour of the various hotels to see their decorations. The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is incredible!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

We're hoping to be there from the 17th to the 25th. So far I only have managed to reserve 4 of the nights, but I'm hopeful that by the time it gets closer I have all 8 nights. We have a backup reservation at Tropical Palms, but if we end up staying there, we'll likely spend most of our time at Universal. I'd rather be at FW and Disney!

I just cancelled the 15th to the 25th of Nov. (See my previous post.)

If you check with reservations, perhaps some of those dates are still available.

Good luck!

Thanks Jam's Mom, it's great of you to let me know. Unfortunately, they're long gone. I checked this morning and then again about an hour after you made your other post about cancelling them, and there was nothing either time. I'm hopeful something will eventually turn up, though.

There will be 3 families in our group for Thanksgiving week! Look for all the Arkansas Razorback camp decorations and say Hi!:cheer2:

Will do Razorbacklady, but I have to warn you. we are huge LSU Tiger fans.

Armands...
Make sure to come by on Friday after Thanksgiving when the Razorbacks will be playing the Tigers! :happytv: And don't worry, we will be nice to you even though you are a LSU fan! Don't tell anyone, but I went to LSU!:)

See Ya Soon
Razorbacklady

Turkey Week at the Ft. is the best and has become a tradition in our family.

We'll be there from the 11th-24th. I can't wait. I have never been there over Thanksgiving. I am hoping the crowds are not as bad as some of the other holidays.
I am really looking foward to MVMCP.
Anyone else going?

Hey Razorbacklady,
That sounds great. We would love to stop by for the game. We'll only need to watch the first quarter, enough time for the Tigers to blow out the Hogs, then off to one of the parks. We are hoping to be in the 300 loop. Do ya'll ask for a certain loop? or just take your chances?

I'll be there the 15th-22nd, don't know for sure if I'll have anybody with me...
but I'll be there.

I believe Colson is gonna be there too.

Hi Armands,
This will be our 1st trip, so we have not requested anything but to be near each other, as I mentioned there will be 3 groups of us. I sure hope they keep us together!

GO HOGS!

We will be there in our pop-up from Friday Nov. 16 thru Thursday Nov.22. This will be our first trip to DW and the kids don't know that we are going yet. They just think that we are going camping in Fla.. We live north of Atlanta.

Yep, we will be there at Thanksgiving, annual tradition for us as well. Let me go check the calendar...........ok, we will be there November 20th thru November 26th. You are picking a great time of year to go, great weather, holiday decorations are all up, Osborne lights are running, nothing gets you in the mood for the Holidays like Thanskgiving at the Fort/Disney.

Crowds can be a bit tough, and with the soaring popularity of Disney at Thanksgiving, I can only imagine it getting even crazier. However, as long as you're patient and soak it all in, you'll have a blast. Sometimes standing in the longer lines isn't so bad when you get to check out all the holiday decorations that are around.

Here is praying for another cold Thanksgiving like last year, that was a great one!

Can't wait till next year when Thanksgiving falls on my birthday ;)

We will be there too!!
First time at FW, we are DVC members and always been in one of
them, but we got a new puppy and decided to change our ressie for
FW and come with the Motorhome.
Also first time at Thanksgiving. Our girls (8 and 4) are excited to be back
"home" soon.
I have a guestion for the experts: which loop would you request with a big
MH and a pet and a truck in tow? I requested loop 300 for the location of the loop but I am concerned of the tightness of the road and the sites.
Would it be better 700 or 800?
Thanks for the help.

We will be at the cabins Wed- Sun of Thanksgiving week, POR Sun-Wed. I am going to cook Thanksgiving dinner. So excited, we love staying at the cabins and will be even more special since it is a holiday.

Anyone have the Nov movie schedule yet?

Nope, the schedule will be out in a few days, it normally gets postsed either the very last day of the month or the first of the month, so pretty soon!

I'm excited to see it as well, we have my nephew going with us and I'm hoping there are some good movies we can take him to see!

We're coming in on the 29th, but have spent many Thanksgiving's at the Fort! If you would like to splurge, make ressies for the T-day buffet at Trail's End. I wouldn't make it a yearly tradition, but it is well worth going one time!!!

Debbie ♥
