Ok, I know we are just barely reaching late spring, but I am getting ready for the family Thanksgiving trip, and need to start booking ressie for dinner for 14. If you have done this before, where did you go, and would you go back?

This is the first time in our lives we are not home for Thanksgiving. Mom and Dad will be with us, and I thought it would be nice if Mom did not have to cook this year. We will be staying at AKV, in a 1 bedroom so it is possible to cook there, but I am not sure about 14 of us eating in one room.

Hi Coach,

If you do a search you'll find this question gets asked often. Here is a recent thread:

Thanks, I had done a search, but I guess I hadn't looked long enough to find that thread. Looks like everything is booked pretty well at this time. I called dinning, and they pretty much told me Ohana was pretty well booked, and so was LTT, but she suggested Thanksgiving at the Fort. Anyone else ever done this one?

We were there last Thanksgiving (our 1st time not home for a holiday) and instead of trying to make ressies and messing with our last full day there, we decided before hand that we would each get a turkey leg and that is exactly what we did. The turkey legs were huge and pretty good.

We are going to be there for Thanksgiving also. Have never been at that time of year before so I did a lot of researching here at DIS. When I think Thanksgiving the first meal that comes to mind is LTT but I read how insanely crowded the MK gets on that day and I'm sure LTT will be FULL to the gills. So, in order to avoid a stressful meal and day I decided to book LTT the day before Thanksgiving. That will be our holiday meal. We're not going to be at home so I don't think it will matter to us if we have our turkey meal the day before. Then on Thanksgiving day we are going to have a nice breakfast, head to one of the less crowded parks, eat cs for dinner, and avoid the sitdown restaurants. Unconventional I know. But being in WDW on Thanksgiving day is unconventional for us too.....in a wonderful way!:cheer2:

I seriously wish you luck at finding an ADR for 14 on Thanksgiving. I called for a ressie for 9 on the 180 day mark (Sat of Memorial Day weekend) at 7:00am. I was on hold for 30 minutes, and had major headaches just trying to get decent times. I have split ressies for 2 and even 3 tables just to eat dinner before 9 pm. I'd call right away with a list of your top 5....best wishes. :yay:

Thanks everyone for your input. After reading all your posts, I started panicing, so I decided to go with the Thanksgiving at the Fort, which we can use 2 sit downs from our Meal Plan. So at least we have a traditional dinner, with what I understand is a nice show, and at 4 PM, which is an excellent time.
