Hi all. We're planning a trip to Universal and Disney next year, getting in to Orlando Thanksgiving evening. We will be checking into either Universal or WDW Friday morning. We can either do WDW first or Universal first. Which do you think will be most crowded the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving?
Note: For Universal, we hope to stay at Royal Pacific for one night, and visit both parks over the 2 days there, using early entry and unlimited express pass. For WDW, we hope to stay at BWV by renting DVC points, and will be there 6 days.
I would personally like to start at Universal and end at WDW but if crowds are going to be a huge problem we can switch the order.
Thanks for any help.

with HP2 coming out this summer, watch the threads on how crowded it will be for this coming Tday period.
do a search on how it has been last year for crowd issues in the parks.

you are going Tday period in 2014, over a year from now.
crowd patterns might go up, no one knows this far out.

typically, it is crowded at the darkside during that time period.

i do both motherland and darkside on each visit.
i start with the motherland on site and end with the darkside onsite.

my next trip is just after new years day.
doing same pattern of stay for that visit.

the usage of the express line at UO is fabulous, especially when the hotels are at capacity and the crowds are high in the parks.

With Diagon Alley open when you visit next year and a holiday weekend, crowds at the Studios will be insane that whole weekend. You might want to go to Disney first and then come to Universal the next week when you can visit during the slower midweek time periods. Diagon Alley will still be busy so keep that in mind.

Thanks for your tips. Now what is Motherland, and Darkside?:confused3

I think we may have to take your advice and do Universal last. I REALLY don't like big crowds. Thanks very much!
