I have friends that will be at WDW for Thanksgiving and have no adr's. What would you suggest they do? I mentioned ordering from local grocery if that was available. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

For one thing, they could try making ADRs now. I'm sure most restaurants are booked sold, but if they are flexible they might be able to come up with something.

Counter service, ESPN Club, Big River Grille, Beaches and Cream. None of those accept reservations.

They could call and try a lunch or a dinner at some of the less than popular (but still good) places. Grand Floridian Cafe and Yacht Club Galley are good choices to start with.

We're avoiding the entire Thanksgiving dinner thing at Disney World. We're having our Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night athe Biergarten. Much less of a hassle.

We will be there on Thansgiving, which is also my son's birthday! We opted for a Thanksgiving lunch at Kona. There were still ADRs a few weeks back. Another option is off-site. We are going to Texas de Brazil for dinner. They have a 2 for 1 deal going on, even on Thanksgiving Day. Of course, no turkey there.

I would call Disney Dining just to see if they have any openings for lunch or dinner. (Acutally, I'd even take a late breakfast/brunch.)

Keep calling every few days, there are always cancellations, even during holiday periods.

Here is some pixie dust for you :wizard: :wizard:

If we couldn't get a TS, we would make due with Epcot CS. We would make it a grazing day and share something from each country :) .

tell them to try Big River Grille , they are on the Boardwalk
they do take the DDP and they recently had some openings

By the way, if they are staying in a DVC villa (one bedroom or larger), the grocery order might work. If staying in any non-DVC or a DVC studio, you'll need an oven to heat that dinner up. We ordered Thanksgiving dinner from Goodings one year and even with a pre-cooked turkey, it still took about 3 hours to heat up the turkey. Plus you'll need a full sized refrigerator to keep it cool until you can heat it up. You have to pick these up on Wednesday at the latest.

If you would really like to eat at WDW - I would called Disney Dining and check what they have available at the resorts every day. The resorts tend to book up last and it will be fun navigating to the resorts and checking out the Christmas decorations. I dined at WC at the WL a couple of years back without an ADR since we weren't sure what time our flight would arrive but since I was a resort guest at the WL they "squeezed" me in. Dinner was family style all you can eat - turkey dinner with all the trimming and pumpkin pie for dessert and it was great. Good Luck!

The food courts at the All Stars will be serving a Thanksgiving dinner. I think the CS type places at AKL will as well.

It seems like several of the resort CS locations offered some kind of turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, especially at the value resorts (where there isn't a TS restaurant anyway). I would suggest that as a backup. Not all local restaurants are open on Thanksgiving either, and the ones that are will be very crowded. They may want to check out the Orlando Sentinel website for dining info (I know they post it in the Calendar section of the print newspaper, so I'm sure it's on their website somewhere).

A few years ago we were there over Thanksgiving....back in the time before I really knew of the importance of making ADR's or all the choices!!:confused3 :sad2: LOL Anywho, we tried when we were there to get into Trails End at Fort Wilderness seeing we were staying in a cabin and they were booked solid! We ended up just eating in the parks at CS but if they want to get something I would suggest calling now.

Thanksgiving with no adr?

1) Have you considered the #2 Value Meal from KFC?

2) Seriously, it is going to be tough for a sitdown at WDW.
3) Just keep calling and hope for a cancellation.
