This being our first day in the parks OF COURSE we went to MK. Mickey called so we got around in plety of time for the 9am opening. We left our luxurious majestic accomodations at the All Star Music and headed off with little or no wait for a bus to MK. We really liked the little show they do at opening -cute and uplifting. By the time the gates were opened we were so pumped just to get into MK.

Since it was DS5's b-day trip he had the privilege of picking the first ride on the first day. He was very clear that he wanted to do the new Stitch 'ride'. We dashed over there in hopes of catching it before lines started to build. Much to our disappointment Stitch was down :guilty: . I heard from a CM that the Stitch AA was down and there was a whole bunch of frantic imagineers trying to get it running. On the one hand, no biggie that Stitch was down; on the other hand, nice job on Disney's part pumping the new ride all over Disney Channel and then having it closed when we get down there  . We hopped right on Buzz, did Tomorrowland Speedway (first time ever for us all), Pooh, and Philharmagic. Just as we got FPs for Peter Pan, DD7 says her tummy feels funny. We dash over toward the bathrooms near Pinnochio Haus and ALMOST made it before she hurled. Kinda nasty. DW took DD back to the room while DS and I stayed in park. We arranged to meet at the park entrance at 3pm if DD seemed better. She did fine, so we all met back up and continued the day. Thank goodness thsi was the last of any tummy disorders! While it was just DS and I for 4 hours, we did lots of what we call "dude stuff" -ie. his first time on Splash, Big Thunder, etc.

We all four got togther at 3pm and watched the SADCT parade. DW taped it and it came out just perfect. The sun was just right, etc. We then all did lots of stuff ie. Pirates, Tiki Room, Toontown, Haunted Mansion (after dark), etc. Had the roasted chicken from Cosmic Ray's for supper (yummy as always)

As the day went on, we foud ourselves in Fantasyland around the time Wishes was about to start. After exiting Snow White ride we thought about making a quick dash to get out before the crowds. (DW's big pet peeve about WDW is getting caught in those monstrous crowds at park closings). We decided to bite the bullet and do a few more rides since it was like we had Fantasyland to ourselves.

Here's the really sweet part -- We did Dumbo, not knowing how close it wa to time for Wishes to begin. Just as we were about to get on the ride the fireworks started. As we were riding the fireworks were really lighting up the sky and the soundtrack filled our ears. One of my greatest WDW memories will always be the night I rode Dumbo with DD as Wishes was going on. I just thought to myself that Disney could sell that experience for big money. Talk about being at the right place at the right time! I wished it would never end. :flower1:

We trudged through the crowds and returned to the resort thoroughly exhausted. Though I didn't realize it at the time, DS and I had put in 13 hours at the MK. What a day!

On a scale of 1-6 I have to give this day :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: 1/2

(The only thing that kept it from being perfect was DD's little tummy problems)

So glad your DD recuperated quickly, nothing worse than planning and planning and then the flu wiping out some of your days. Thanks for the heads up about ASMusic.
