Thanksgiving Week Availability

My husband and I do not have a home resort in FL, as we purchased our points through Aulani. We are hoping to do Thanksgiving week in WDW (Wed night-Sat night). Is it pointless to bank on making this a vacation, is it even theoretically possible that we would get a standard room at one of the DVC resorts at the 7 month mark in April? We are hoping to book Bay Lake Tower or Polynesian Villa, though I don't want us to get our hopes up. I'm willing to get online right at 5am PST the day I'm able to reserve, though I'm afraid this won't be enough Any advise would be greatly appreciated! (This is our first time trying to get a DVC reservation in FL, so I'm a bit new to this)

Can you find something at 7 months out - possible at SSR or OKW.
You can always set-up a WL or stalk the website for making your own reservation one day at a time, and that may or may not come through depending on other's changing their plans.
You might want to think about trying to find someone who will do a swap with you; you book Aulani for them and they book BLT or PVB for you at 11 months.

Thanksgiving is a high DVC demand. You will have no real chance for BLT standard view, which is often gone before 7 months out, even during low demand times. The same applies to VGF studios both standard and lake view, and BWV standard view. SSR will likely be open, AKV Kidandi and OKW also have a chance but the Wednesday and Thuirsday of Thanksgiving week might disappear for those too before 7 months out. Where you may have a real chance is Poly, although that is still an unknown.. It has a huge number of studios, and when you go to reserve, it will still be far from selling out and will likely have more inventory available overall to members than Poly owners can fill. Any chance you may have will be higher if your start date is the Friday or Saturday before Thanksgiving, a Sunday or Monday start day will be more difficult, and if it is the Tuesday or Wednesday, chances will be likely be significantly lower.

I'm stressing about availability that week too. I booked our Grand Villa at OKW right at the 11 month window for the Sunday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after. I want to book the Saturday night before as well, but I'm 15 points shy. I'm worried that when the 7 month window comes up that there won't be any availability for the one night at the GV. I purposely did not pick the Near Hospitality House category so that there would be a greater chance. Do you think I need to go find someone to rent / transfer 15 OKW points or do you think I'm safe to get the one night for the GV at 7 months?

When I went to book Thanksgiving week at a combination of my home resorts (GFV and BLT) standard view was not available for every night we needed at the 11 month mark (granted it was not at 8am when I booked) and I was looking at a 1 bedroom which generally books later than studios. I would certainly not plan on a standard view at BLT- you might be able to piece together a lakeview there but anything else is unlikely.
