Hiyas!

Does anyone have any information they could share about weddings during the Thanksgiving week? Is it treated as a normal week, or are there special prices or anything?

TIA!

I'm not sure why they would have special prices, but I think Thanksgiving is a great time to have a DFTW. It's a holiday that everyone gets off from work and school, and believe it or not the parks are supposed to be very empty that time of year.

I had my Disneymoon during Thanksgiving and found the parks crowded, especially the day after Thanksgiving. However, compared to Summer time the crowds were a little less...and the weather was much cooler!:thumbsup2

I wouldn't be surprised if higher minimums applied during that time, especially if you have the wedding Thanksgiving day thru that Sunday. I know higher minimums apply on days like Christmas and New Years, and on lots of three day weekends, but I don't know the specifics for Thanksgiving. Also, this was before they revamped their pricing structure, so that might not apply anymore. I would suggest calling DFTW to find out for sure. :thumbsup2

We were there over Thanksgiving a couple years ago. Weather is great...you can hit the water parks during the day without baking, but still very nice and cooler in the evenings. You can also catch the Christmas magic that time of year. But the rates are higher and the parks are pretty crowded. All in all, though, I would have rather done that time of year than August, which is what my DF wanted. So we are going with August. Easier for us and the families with kids to get a longer vacation out of it that way.

Hey I'm getting married on 11/16/07 and my AAA travel agent just sent me information on a Very Merry Christmas Party held in Magic Kingdon. Ticket prices aren't available yet but they will be soon. It seems really cute...they have snow on Main Street, the character are out, theres performances on stage, and you get complimentary cocoa and cookies, and of course a Christmas parade and fireworks. I'm thinking of doing that the night of my wedding and getting tickets for my guests. Congrats!!

Hiya I was in Disney Nov past on thankgiving week and got engaged:cheer2: . We thought it would be a good idea to see if we could speak to someone at DFTW:wizard: while we were there however we were told there was nobody there for most of that week so we never got to see anybody:sad2: . So I am not sure if they were closed altogether or if they were just doing weddings and that was it:confused: - the place did look pretty deserted the few times we walked over. and the parks were very very busy there were no fast passes available after about an hour of park opening time:scared: and ride waits averaged 3 hours. 4 for the bigger rides and if you wanted to see any shows you had to queue at least 1-1/2 hours before. Saying all this I am still planning my wedding for Nov but the week after thanksgivingprincess: .

If costs for your guests are a consideration, hotels may cost more. Additonally, airfare is generally more as well.

If you are planning a small wedding, then this shouldn't be a factor. But many people have traditions related to holidays that can be hard to change. Something to consider.

Thanks for all the info, everyone!

Well, I really really want to have my reception in the Napa/Sonoma rooms at the California Grill and the max for seating for that is 50 people... So on the up side, it might make it easier to actually meet those numbers! ;) :rotfl:

We went to the MVMCP this past December and it was AWESOME!!! There was snow on Main Street and they have the same parade that they show on Christmas morning. The cocoa and cookies were wonderful too! They also play Christmas music throughout the park and we really liked that. The show in front of the castle was good too and there was also a special holiday showing of Wishes. And when we were there, after two-three hours or so the park really emptied out and we were able to walk onto a lot of the rides. I think the only ride we had to wait for was Peter Pan! If we were getting married when it was going on, I would definitely do it!
