How is Southern California weather in late November? I'm assuming sunny and warm, but just checking. We'll also spend some time at Newport Beach so I am hopeful it will be warm enough for swimming.
Sunny? Maybe. Warm? Probably not. At least not by CA standards. The only S Californians you'll find at the beach are the diehard surfers, and they'll be wearing wetsuits (brrrr, that water is cold in November). November temps, especially late November are in the 60s and the water temps are about the same or cooler.
We're in SoCal. My girls wore short skirts and short sleeve tops to Thanksgiving this year. I had gotten them each a pretty little fall dress (short sleeve) but the fabric was just too warm and they ended up in summer clothes. It was probably in the high 70s? -- The weather should probably pleasant by SoCal standards and warm by most peoples standards It can be chilly mornings/nights, but the days should be good
Oh, when you say swim do you mean in the ocean? Thats cold in July, way too cold in November. Swimming in a heated hotel pool though, you'll be fine.
Jen is correct, it is pretty cool in Orange County in Nov. The good news is that it rarely rains over Thanksgiving week If you want to experience beautiful warm temps (80ish), go to the desert...Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells...there are some really nice resorts out that way. Good luck deciding.

I was at DL last Thanksgiving. Wed. and Thurs. were nice days, as described above. Fri., a day we had set aside for the beach, was windy, overcast and chilly. We did go to the beach for a couple of hours, but left because it was too cold. We went to the park for the afternoon/evening.
Okay....ocean out. Will all resorts heat their pools? I know DL will so I'm hoping the one at Newport Beach will as well. I don't like the feeling of cool upon jumping in in July. I sure know I wouldn't like it in November.
So probably we'll need shorts and sweatshirts. Not really jeans and coats?
Bring jeans, too. November weather is very unpredictable. Plus you will want them in the evenings. Keep an eye on the weather forecasts right before your trip. I find accuweather.com the most accurate.
