I am trying to figure out if crowds are worse during Thanksgiving week, or around Dec. 30-Jan 7th?

Has anyone noticed that the UG lists Thanksgiving 2006 crowds as being 7-8's, while Christmas and spring break (Easter) weeks are 10's? Are Thanksgiving crowds truly less bad? I mean, one of the days we were just at WDW (the Sat before MLK holiday, I believe) was actually listed as a 7 or 8, and I can certainly handle the crowds we had THAT day!

I'm thinking that if we go Thanksgiving week, the crowds are going to build, but if we go the week after Christmas, crowds will start out huge, then hopefully lighten up as the week goes on...? Christmas is on a Monday this next year, and I'm thinking we could get to WDW on Dec 30th, and lie low until after Jan 1st.

I just got back from a Jan 14-21st trip, and I know we have been horrifically spoiled now. We walked into Philharmagic and Splash Mtn and countless other rides. I really don't do heat well, and if summers are all that crowded, I'd prefer better weather and crowds to hot weather and crowds! I'd love to go back again in Jan, but don't think I'll be able to swing that w/my employer...

What do you all think about crowds at these times? What would YOU do?
