I am new to the boards as a member, I have been reading here for a few years.
We are going to be at Disneyland for Thanksgiving and I had no idea that the meals would book up so fast ... I know... I should have known... but we've never done a Disney holiday before.

So the only place we could get a reservation was Café Orleans. At least it's turkey, but it is also a counter service meal for $19.99. Probably not a great value. I have the reservation but I can cancel it.

My question is this... are there other alternative options for a nice Thanksgiving meal outside of Disney? We will have a car so that is not an issue for us. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

If the weather is nice you could sit outside on the patio. I love the ambience of Cafe Orleans, I wouldn't cancel. I would love to have done the thanksgiving dinner at the Disneyland Hotel but I have to work

Cafe Orleans isn't counter service. There are servers who take your order and bring your meals to the table. Have you looked at the restaurants in DtD? Jazz Kitchen is probably booked up, but Catal, UVA Bar, and Tortilla Jo's may still have availability. Mimi's Cafe on Harbor probably has a Thanksgiving Dinner. And you could check the restaurants at GardenWalk on Katella (Cheesecake Factory, McCormick & Schmick's, Roy's, Bubba Gump's) to see if they will have any Thanksgiving offerings. All of those places are withing walking distance of the parks, but you could drive to GardenWalk if needed.

If your hotel has a restaurant, I would check there, too, to see if they will be serving a Thanksgiving meal and if there is an opening.

Cafe Orleans is sit down, but other options might be Mimi's, Morton's, or Cheesecake Kitchen. I don't know who does traditional Thanksgiving meals. (Mimi's does.)

Thank you so much. You are correct, I mixed up Café Orleans with the French Market Restaurant. That would make things better for sure. I am still hoping for any other suggestions. It would be good to have options.

I have a reservation on Thanksgiving for a party of four at 11:30 at Blue Bayou. We have decided to eat at our hotel instead so I'm about to cancel it if that might be of interest to you. I will wait a bit to cancel it just in case.
