Thanksgiving reservations

Today was our 180 window for our arrival Nov 24. I tried to make reservations at LTT and they told me it was all booked. I called at 7am and got through rigtht away.

I understand that others that are arriving Nov 22 or 23 got to call yesterday and the day before but I don't think it is fair that others that can't call until today or tomorrow to be shut out.

Does anyone else feel that Thanksgiving day should only be available to book exactly 180 days from that day to give everyone a fair chance? I mean even places like Yak & Yeti will allow you to book exactly 180 days from the day you want and not 180 + 10

Anyone have any ideas of how I can get a reservation at LTT now for Thanksgiving?

We will be there for Thanksgiving again this year and our 180 day isn't for 3 more days. We wanted to try LTT this year, but I guess we wont be able too.

There are so many other WONDERFUL places to eat that I would never let this bother me. Fair/unfair....I don't know. You'll be in Disney...enjoy. We've eaten at Crystal Palace the last two years for Thanksgiving and we really enjoyed it. You might want to consider eating there if you want to be in the Magic Kingdom that day.

We did try CP as our second option but they are also sold out for dinner

I don't understand what you mean that you can make ressies at more than 180 days if your arrive before T Day?? :confused3 :confused3 Please Explain.

Each day for resturant reservations should be at 180 days ahead, period!!

If you are staying onsite at a Disney hotel you can start making reservations 180 days from your day of arrival and up to 10 days after. Today was my 180 days from my arrival date, Nov 24, but can also book up to 10 days after Nov 24

If you are staying offsite you can only book 180 days from each day

If you are staying onsite, a perk for guests is the 180 + 10 rule.

It allows onsite guests the ability to make all of the ADR's in one call, instead of calling 180 days out for each day. You call at 180 days from your check in date and can make ADR's for the next 10 days of your trip.

OP, my suggestion for you is if you want LTT for Thanksgiving, keep calling (people cancel adr's all the time) and be open to eating at a time different than you may have planned. :goodvibes

Well, phooey, i didnt' know that!!! No wonder i had some trouble getting ressies for Sept (during free dining) because i was calling exactly 180 days for each day.
But on the other hand, i am so sure if i agree with this. I still think it is the fairest way to everyone to call to the day of 180 days ahead. JMHO!!

How do you know they aren't holding tables back for the 180 day mark because of the holiday? I wouldn't give up so soon.

I don't - I did ask that but the cm said there weren't any notes on there about it like there is for Cinderella's castle where more open up at exactly 180 days out. Thanks for the thought. I will keep trying

I hope it works out. Definitely try at exactly 180 days. Good luck.:)

People always ask why they should pay more to stay at a resort on property instead of a 3BR home with it's own pool off property. Well, when you stay on property you get to make 180 +10 ADR's, you get EMH, transportation from your room to the park and so on. This is one of the advantages to staying onsite. :goodvibes

We were there for Thanksgiving last year. We had reservations at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We decided to tour the monorail resorts to see the Christmas decorations on our way to dinner. We could not help but notice the diners at Kona Cafe and the Concourse Steakhouse - well, the turkey dinners all looked very similar. When we got our turkey dinner at the GFC - it was exactly the same as what we had seen.

My point is, no matter where you eat on Thanksgiving, I think the turkey dinners at least, are basically the same meal. I think you are choosing an atmosphere. I am sure some of the restaurants have a different flair but I think most are the same.

The menus for Thanksgiving came out around July last year - or you can check on allears.net to see the menus and pricing for last year. That may help you decide.

Just a thought....the hours for November still haven't been released yet ( I know!! Don't even get me started :furious: ) once they release those hours I'm sure there will be more openings. The CM currently can only book till a certain time because that's all the computer will let them do.

Definitely try again when the hours are released!

Kim

PS - There is a thread on the attractions board about waiting for the November hours. The last couple of pages talk about what ADRs people have been able to make.

We got our Thanksgiving table for 8 at HDDR this morning right at 7AM and it was the last large table they had for the 5PM show. Even thought we are staying on site I think it should be 180 days period. I tried to call yesterday and they would not let me book because we are arriving on 11/24. When we called yesterday all the tables for 8 for hte 7:30 show were already gone and they told us they had 1 left. I figured it would be gone at some point throughout the day yesterday but they still had it this morning.

I have only been twice, 2004 and 2007, and I knew it. It was boards like these where I learned it, not from Disney. In fact, some of the phone folks aren't well educated on this fact, so it's not surprising that if you didn't read about it here, you wouldn't hear about it.

Similar to another poster, in 2004 DH and I had T-Day lunch (or dinner -- forget which) at Kona Cafe.
The options were their regular menu or a traditional turkey dinner, with dessert included for a reasonable price. It was pretty good too.
And it sure beat the heck out of being in a large crowd waiting for Ohana seating for an AYCE turkey dinner.

I made all of my ADRs on Monday with no problems. We are going to Hoop Dee Doo for Thanksgiving dinner. I also booked Le Cellier, Chef Mickey, Ohanas, Coral Reef and Sci-Fi for the week.

Our arrival day is Nov 21st. I called at 5:58am on Sunday morning and DID NOT get LTT for dinner on Thanksgiving either! Don't feel bad. The only thing left was at 4:15pm at 3 separate tables and we wanted to be all together for Thanksgiving Dinner! We just booked for Chef Mickey instead:goodvibes
